Ohio House is an older property ('60's???) and has a vintage vibe to it. I could not come anywhere close to their price for this River North neighborhood. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and some attractions, close to CTA for further out in the city. Free parking is a huge plus for me as I drove from Springfield, IL area to pick up my son at O'Hare. His venue--House of Blues--was within walking distance. Room was clean, comfortable bed, plenty of hot water--great for us as we only s... Read more

Ohio House Motel offers a relatively clean, comfortable, secure room for a great price. The fact that it includes free parking nd a delicious breakfast make it a no- brainer. Yes the rooms could use a bit of an update...but I still think it's a great place to stay if you are on a budget!

Hotel was convenient and very clean. Everyone from front desk to cleaning staff were really nice. All other hotels were $400 plus. And charged $40 to $70 for parking. I would definitely say this was the best value in all of downtown Chicago. This hotel was a perfect 10.

We were only in Chicago for a day and a night and the hotel was a great base to go and see the city from. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and parking was no problem at all. We were on a budget and were pleasantly surprised at what we got for our money!

This was our first time at this property, but we will return here for any future visits to the Windy City. Within walking distance to a lot of great restaurants and shopping; clean room and comfortable bed. No in-room coffee maker, but complimentary coffee at the check-in desk...things like this probably help to keep the rates reasonable.

Well situated motel within walking distance of the Mile & Navy Pier etc. Well worn, but clean rooms but a bit over-priced. I only paid $5 more at the O'Hare Hilton. Food is not available but there are plenty of eateries close by. Free limited parking on a first come, first served basis. DO NOT eat at Leghorns, the attached cafe. It was dreadful. No sugar, no knives & limited menu.

Only main issue is there are lot of vending machines and the ice machine is kind of hidden. Besides that it's a gem in the city. Staff is professional and great in the center of river north. Love the outdoor balcony

Property in the heart of city within walking distance of all major attractions , but rooms small compared to the price and since facing the roads it was noisy good for 1 night stay no breakfast served

My complaints really aren't the hotels fault; they really have no control over who goes past their property causing noise all night. That being said, while it is an average place you can stay for cheap, the locals will make you question your decision to stay there.

This place was not the ritz by any means, nor does it pretend to. It is a basic motel in the river north section of Chicago. Short walks to many attractions , train stations, and the magnificent mile. The beds were a bit hard for me but my friend loved his. When in Chicago I ye not to spend too much time in my hotel. Just need a bed and a shower and ohio house was the perfect place for that.

a good deal overall - if you're not expecting goose down comforters and the like. free parking during your stay room was fine, security seemed adequate (outer doors to hallways lock as well) disappointment was actually in comfort of the room - you must call the office to turn on the AC - controls are disabled in the room walking distance to the river, lots of restaurants in the area 20 min walk to navy pier - but lots of public transportation options anyways bedcover had stain, and though i cl... Great location and free parking, was able to walk to many attractions, easy to find, felt very safe there, friendly staff, price was good for Chicago, would come back again and stay here, needs a few updates, but overall very good.

I was nervous when I booked this hotel, but I waited too long, and this was the best one from what was leftover in downtown Chicago. I took the gamble and won big. My first contact was with the front desk when I called to ask where the best place to park would be. I was bowled over when the very courteous gentleman told me that they not only had their own lot, but we were welcome to park in it as soon as we arrived even though it was THREE hours before check in. That same gentleman then provided... Read more

This was our first vacation in 24 years without our children. We stayed 4 nights at The Ohio House Motel. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Requests for extra towels were met immediately. I have to give extra props to Ashley and Julian. We seemed to talk to them more than anyone else on staff. Ashley and Julian bent over backwards to make our stay a memorable one. We will be staying at The Ohio House again.

The motel is located down town, near all sights in town. Room size good for one person, amenities fine. The room was very cold and AC ran all night. I was told to call front office to change temperature but by the time I wanted to change it, nobody answered the phone. Luckily there was an extra blanket and for the second night, I made sure temperature was good.

The Ohio House is an apartment style hotel. The rooms are small and somewhat dated but also quaint in a way. Parking is including in your stay. The staff is friendly and the location is excellent to downtown Chicago.

Great downtown Chicago location, free parking which was a huge plus! Felt completely safe staying here. Room is dated, could have been cleaner, and is overpriced for the size of it but the free parking and location outweighed any negatives.

Don't expect many frills. It's a good value if you do not care about extra amenities. Free parking, free wi-fi, clean room, and good location were, in my opinion, the must-haves that the hotel possessed.

It's basically a dump, but the price was right. No thermostat, hard mattress that "bowed" towards the middle, and it enough shelf space for 2 people in the bathroom. Smelled musty and the fridge hummed loudly all night. Will spend more money and stay elsewhere next time.

Perfect place to stay for fun in the city. Free parking makes this awesome!!! The rooms are very small but very clean. Perfect, really, for a place in the city. Breakfast at the cute little place around the corner was a favorite - those biscuits!

My son and I stayed at the Ohio house primarily because of the price of the room. The room was better than we expected and the free parking was a definite plus. The location worked good for us as the location was within walking distance of the interview location. But it was really within walking distance of anything we wanted to do.

I enjoyed my stay at this motel quite a bit. It was well maintained and close enough to all the places I wanted to visit that I could walk around town without he need of transportation. Also, it's located near a really tasty restaurant named Portillo's Hot Dogs which was a nice taste of the Chicago style hot dog.
