If you've read any of my reviews, you know I'm kind of a hotel snob. I'm brand loyal and like a lot of amenities. I was traveling to Chicago on business and not in charge of accommodations. I was pleasantly surprised by my time at this hotel. The rooms were VERY large for a big city hotel with a lot of work space. The rooms were clean and equipped with modern furnishings. The best feature by far was the staff. From the amazingly happy women working the breakfast buffet to the fun and friendly fr... Read more

Nobody should ever pay more than $140 for a room here. This hotel must thank their great fortune that Chicago hosts some very big trade shows and conferences. That is the case today. We are not even attending the big conference in town, but we still had to pay $350 for a room here. Outrageous. The amount of trash that this hotel produces should be illegal. Everything is disposable. I did not see a real cup, plate, or utensil in the entire place. The knives in the breakfast area are about ... Read more

Just stayed here for business. Hotel was clean and staff was nice. I had a single queen bed room and it was spacious with a large work desk, fridge, microwave and tv. Free WiFi was good and I was able to work without issues. The breakfast was your typical continental breakfast with good choices. This hotel is fairly quiet being in the business district. this also means there isn't much to do close by after 8:00pm. But traffic noise starts early. My family and I came to Chicago to attend a trade show and chose to stay here because my mom loves modern convenience hotels and she only gets 1 vacation a year. We stay here almost every year for this convention. Wonderful breakfast that is included. Beautiful rooms and showers. The staff is pinnacle and some of the best staff we have encountered at a hotel. I have stayed in other la Quinta hotels and know it is not 4 Star but thiis was disappointing for a big city. I got a handicap room which was large, that was good, but the bathroom was practically useless. The shower designed for a wheelchair let water flood the bathroom. The controls were very touchy. Lighting over the sink meant shaving by braille. Two aC units were noisy and allowed huge temperature swings. Bed covers were lead weighted it seemed and the mattress left me with a backache every... I booked this hotel through TripAdvisor and was pleased with the review. But once arriving I realized I should have gotten a better hotel for the price I paid. This hotel is down town and in walking distance from The sears tower ( Willis Tower) which was great since some friends never been to Chicago. The room was small but nice the breakfast and staff was great. there is no free parking, the pool is small. But I was only here for a few days before heading back overseas.

The staff was friendly and polite. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a convenient location. They don't have free parking at this location, but there is a parking garage right next door to the hotel that (when we stayed) charges $46 for overnight parking. When we were in the lobby, at least six people went up to the desk and sounded absolutely shocked that they had to pay for parking. It is very clean, the breakfast is amazing but little bit crowdy around 8h30, the hotel should add more tables and chairs. I had a lovely corner room with two entire walls of windows. The room and hotel were clean and modern. Walking distance to some great places in the heart of downtown Chicago. Attached parking garage and tons of food around the hotel.

I had to visit chicago for a conference and planned to stay over during the weekend. I work for a not for profit, so competitive pricing is key for me in searching There were mixed reviews on here, but i found much to like. From the front desk to the housekeeping team, including the staff in the breakfast room and the doormen who deliver from the restaurant downstairs, this was one of the friendliest hotels on record. Yes the breakfast buffet is limited (sausage gravy all weekend folks? rea... Read more

Small things matters....I can hardly find a CONVENIENT spot to charge my phone and iPad. I am sure I am not the only business traveler who reads emails or use the iPad in bed. It is so inconvenient to have to charge my device somewhere else. The fresh air vent is so loud, that I felt like I was sleeping next to a wind tunnel. Apparently for rooms that have windows that do not open, the building code requires fresh air vents. It is so loud and so cold in my room that I have to turn up the heat. ... Read more

I was making a reservation somewhat last minute and found rooms hard to come by unless you were King Midas. The. I was told about this hotel, and got a room at a rate that was outstandingly affordable. He place was impeccable, the staff welcoming and professional, and the amenities top shelf. I was even impressed with the view from my corner room. I will definitely be back!

I stayed here for the free wifi and close proximity to Union Station where I was arriving by train on the Empire Builder. It was about a 10 minute walk to the hotel from the station. Check in went quick and I was assigned a room on the third floor. At night I took the two block walk to Giordano's for a delicious dinner. On departure, it was another 10 minute walk across Madison Street to the blue line station for the half hour ride to O'Hare. The one trip fare was $3. The only negative to this v... Read more

The lobby doesn't look like much but the rooms are surprisingly modern, spacious and clean. Good white noise to block the city sounds. Professional and friendly front desk staff who were very helpful with restaurant recommendations and directions.

Hotel is clean, bright and cheerful. Free breakfast has something for everyone, hot to cold. Rooms are comfortable, bathrooms are updated. Desks are equipped with lamps and plenty of outlets. Even staying in the room next to the elevator was quiet and very restful. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient.

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the last few years when attending an opera at the Lyric. It is convenient, friendly, and includes breakfast. A special "shout out" to the great ladies in the breakfast room--Aricine and Kyica!! The only issue this time was a broken handle on the business center door. It was fixed one day and then didn't work again the next day.

Stayed here on a Saturday night. First the positives, staff friendly and good location. Room was basic, towels thin, breakfast was included but all plastic disposable plates and cutlery. I am not a tree hugger but this didn't feel right. Breakfast itself was ok, just like the hotel.

Stayed for 3 nights. Had a corner King Suite with great views of the downtown area. The room was very nice, plenty of room and a comfortable bed. Was the first trip I have been on and did not rent a car and found this hotel to be in a great location. Very short walk to the Metra train station and also the CTA "L." The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They directed me to some great places to eat downtown. My only complaint would be the standard towel La Quinta has. I wish they w... Read more

Very nice service. The Hotel is close of restaurants and It's safe to walk outside at night. The kitchen staff is VERY smilly and friendly but the quality of the food is not 5 stars but acceptable. I recommends this hotel without problem.

This is very convenient if you are going to the Lyric. Clean and basic. Service very good because we had two problems that were immediately solved. Terrible coffee ... thankfully Starbucks is across the street. Plastic cups, plates, etc seem out of step with today.

Hotel is clean, modern, with good location - quiet business area on weekends, but within easy walking distance of theater district. Even though the hotel was quite busy, I heard no noise from other guests. El is one block away. Staff is helpful (I forgot lotion on one of the first wintry days - they provided me with it for free; also helped load bags into our car). Self-park next door so you can drive there easily and park your car for the weekend; cost us about $80 Friday to Sunday. Will likely... Read more

I have stayed here before and will stay again. Good location, good price, decent breakfast included. Some street and/or train noise but nothing major. Ask to be not on the Franklin Street side for a quieter room.

I had business meetings at Willis Tower, and this hotel was a great decision. It was essentially across the street, had a great breakfast offering with friendly staff, and the rooms were spacious and clean. I also got a great rate for my two-day stay (under $100/night). Anyone in the area needing a great hotel should seriously consider staying here.
