Just got done with about a 2 week stay for work. Great hotel. The gym is very good for a hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable with a large HDTV and a nice desk for getting work done. I actually have to go back for another week and it's booked :-( If you are gold elite or higher, the executive lounge is very convenient for breakfast and the staff is very friendly.

Excellent rooms, terrific service from all staff, top notch hotel gym and sprawling lobby made for a pleasant surprise. Had been expecting a good, impersonal experience but instead was outstanding and very pleasant. The front desk was particularly on top f things in stepping in to clean up a mistake by central Marriott reservations and also in helping out with a computer glitch in the business center. No head shaking at all - all problems solved with a smile. Highly recommend.

I stayed at the JW Marriott in Chicago on business for one night in April '16. Really lovely hotel, very smart & clean. Hotel staff were incredibly friendly & couldn't do enough to help. My flight the next day wasn't until very late & they were kind enough to let me come back after my meeting & use their spa facilities so I could swim, shower & change before the flight, at no charge! I didn't have breakfast as I left for my meeting too early, but the breakfast smoothies were amazing & taste... Read more

I have nothing bad to share about this hotel- the location is perfect if you need to be in the loop, and the amenities and service were top notch. The bathroom was luxurious, and while the room was not large, it was lovely. I ordered room service and then had breakfast in the restaurant (both delicious) and then left my bags with the bell desk while I was in meetings for the day- everyone I encountered was gracious and friendly. I cant wait to stay there again.

I spent four nights in this hotel and as a gold card member had access to the lounge. On arrival after an early flight from the uk my room wasn't ready which was understandable and they phoned me when it was. Surprised they didn't offer to bring my bags to the room and the bellboy watched me struggle with two bags and a briefcase. Room was comfortable although lounge was basic and a bit cramped with very hard working staff. Swimming pool was cold. Hotel bar was good. Concierge and front desk sta... Read more

I spent 3 nights here to attend a business meeting. The hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the Blue line (Monroe stop), which is the direct line from the airport (takes 45 minutes). As traffic in downtown is often congested, I highly recommend arriving by train instead of taxi ($5.00 one way from the airport; $3.00 one way to the airport). I checked in during rush hour and service was prompt and courteous. The room was a lot nicer and larger than I expected, with a very spacious bathroom w... Read more

Stayed one night here. The hotel is beautiful, traditionally styled. We had a one bedroom suite, Room 653. The room was absolutely beautiful and spacious. Larger than I could have ever expected. A nice-sized living area with a half bathroom. The bedroom has its own large walk-in closet. The bathroom was huge with 2 vanities, a large soaking tub, separate water closet and large shower. My 8-year-old son enjoyed "swimming" in the tub and watching tv embedded in the mirror. The furnishings ... Read more

Great property, architecture, concierge service, club room. We really enjoyed our stay and the hotel staff delivered awesome tips, and lined up dinning and fun you can only have delivered from people who are trained and want to deliver a first rate experience. We had such a time in Chicago, and a shout out to Eric at concierge, and the entire staff in the club room. I struggle to recall their names but quiet honestly for cocktails and suggestions at breakfast. First rate. Well done and this ho... Read more

First let me tell you about the bed because it is hands down one of the best things about this Marriott....when I crawled into bed I texted my daughter and told her I was pretty sure I was sleeping on a puffy cloud....it was incredible. The sheets were soft. The mattress pad was puffy and the duvet was crisp and fresh. I know you think I'm nuts to focus on that. Ok. Other stuff: the bathroom was beautiful with a huge soaking tub and a separate shower. All marble. There is even a scale in the ... Read more

I stayed here the weekend of Memorial day, I was okay, The drinks in the bar wasn't good at all, The employee didn't seem knowledgeable at all when yo asked question nor did they seem friendly, The Concierge wasn't knowledgeable either, I travel all over the world, I didn't feel the love here!!

The lobby of this hotel is spacious and luxurious! When you walk in, you immediately smell the Marriott signature scent and are almost taken back by how large the space is. Lots of seating with an open and inviting bar area, friendly & welcoming staff. I stayed on the concierge level and was very impressed with the selection of complimentary items for breakfast. Our room was relatively small but with a very nice, spacious bathroom.

Favorite hotel in Chicago. The staff is amazing, the rooms are on point. And it's got a great location. This is a gem of a hotel in this great city. Only complaint is I tried weeks in advanced to book a spa session and they seem a disjointed and don't really have the same amazing attitude as the hotel staff when attempting to book.

We were there because my husband attended a conference. We brought our granddaughter and they were able to put a roll-away bed in the room which was nice, even though they charge for it. They have a nice but small indoor pool and a good workout facility. The weather was quite hot when we were there, so fruit infused ice water was in the lobby, but it was almost always empty. The parking was very expensive, but probably no worse than the highway robbery the rest of the downtown hotels charge.... Read more

If you want the great ammenities, wonderful bed and all the great services of an upscale hotel you should consider this hotel. For me the good thing if at the same way that it is a great hotel and has a good location (walking distance from Willis Tower, Millennium Park and The Art Institute), it is not in the middle of the crazy and busy part of The Loop or Magnificent Mile which for me is an advantage. if you are participating of any event in the McCormick Place it is also a good option, cause... Recently spent five pleasant nights at the JW Marriott in Chicago. (I'm a Marriott Rewards customer so some of the nights were free.) I would categorize it as more of a business than a tourist hotel -- lots of conventioneers our first few days but aside from a wedding on Saturday night, there wasn't much happening on the weekend. It's in the Loop, right down the street from the Art Institute of Chicago and directly across the street from the Rookery. Very convenient to everything. Spacious rooms... Read more

The hotel is well located to access the EL and various attractions inside the loop. It appears to have been recently updated but retained a few historic details. Our room was nicely appointed but not much of a view. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice bar and bar menu. The Florentine had a fantastic breakfast.

Stayed here four nights while working in Chicago. The hotel was selected based on its proximity to the work location. I have stayed at JW's before and believe this was the best experience yet. The staff here couldn't be friendlier and more interested in making me comfortable. The restaurant had a nice bar and the food was outstanding. I superlative experience will visit again.

This is a nice hotel in a converted old bank building. Typically good JW service and amenities. One negative is the lobby, which is attractive in a sterile, old bank sort of way but was freezing the three days of our stay. I'm sure the design has something to do with it (soaring ceilings and marble everywhere) but hard to believe the engineers couldn't figure out how to overcome that. The rooms were quite nicely appointed. Separate tub and shower was great. The tub might have been the deepest I'... Read more

Hotel was nice and clean and priced very affordably. Robert, the bartender was amazing and makes a great Long Island iced tea! He rocks!! Not a bad location to visit the Willis Tower and great shopping nearby. The Willis tower tour was not worth the 2 hour wait so might want to bypass that.

From the moment I arrived the staff greeted me with warmth. For such a large hotel the staff were extremely friendly and remembered my name. The property was very modern and well maintained. The bar area was very lively. You could walk to the L as well as to shops and restaurants.

The Executive Lounge at this Hotel is exceptional. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and professional. Brittney really stands out as special. She remembers from one day to another your personal preferences and delivers them with a smile and warm greeting without even asking. I've traveled and worked in Hotels all over the world and have never seen such genuine lounge associates. Also, the Desk Manager (forgot his name) was outstanding. The excellent service stood out--especially when dealing with the servers in the executive lounge and the concierge. Our room was lovely and clean. My husband and I stayed here with family after a concert at Soilder Field. The rooms and service were wonderful! It was quiet and the blackout shades allowed us to sleep in without being disturbed. It was a bit of a hike to the show, but we enjoyed the walk through the parks. Nice huge open lobby with a bar in the background. I can't say it's a luxury 5 star hotel, but a nice place to stay for business or pleasure. Let me say that I'm a Platinum Premier Elite with an average 150 nights/yr at Marriott Hotels. I've stayed at other JW Marriott location worldwide and I have to say that this is not a JW Marriott, this location is nothing more than a standard Marriott and not even close to the JW brand of hotels.
