Great Location! Fair Price, Great Rooms, Impecable everywhere. Great People, Chicago's Gold Coast. We have stayed at Hotel Indigo everytime we visit. The Location is the best, near Michigan Ave, two blocks from the Lake.

Always love staying here. The bright decor is inviting and the parking garage next door is extremely handy. I like the set up of the bathrooms as there are lots of hooks and places to lay out items. Will stay there again.

This is a nice and clean hotel, seems quite recent, and well located if you have to be downtown. They have a pleasant bar, and an adequate restaurant, but there are plenty of options in the area. The rooms are clean but Spartan. The bathroom was small, with just a shower, and I like a bath tub. They say that no one uses the iron and iron board in hotels, and I had to unwrap it. Glad to be able to refresh the press on my shirt after the suitcase. I could not work out how to program the alarm, an... Read more

This was just a wonderful place to stay for a single guy. You walk into a small lobby. There is a small wonderful bar to. The right. One female bartender was great. The male the next night was sad. To the left you find a check-in counter with very nice people. They send you to a room that is small but welcoming. The bedroom was small but the bathroom was huge. For me, this was a perfect room. I get more pleasure from a bathroom then the room. Now we come to the surroundings. A half b... Read more

Great value. Hotel was super clean. Beds were really comfortable. Hotel is little further from touristy places however for the price we are not complaining. We specially liked Halal guys from Newyork just around the corner, great food.

This was the first of six hotels on our coach trip from Chicago to New Orleans with Archers. Our room was very small compared to the usual American hotel rooms. One huge bed and about 18 inches on each side. Wallpaper on the bedhead wall was huge blueberries... reminded me of wrapping paper. Good thing we were only there two nights The rest of the room was painted purple.Lime green sheer curtains and blackout curtains that were torn.We had only a small dressing table and no surface at all to p... This hotel is located in a lovely area of the city and has convenient "all-purpose" stores very nearby. It's a bit of a hike to the train, so you'll probably be riding in a taxi to get around. The hotel entry is inviting, though quite small, as is the bar located just as you walk in. The room was tiny, even compared to most older hotels (Congress, Palmer House, et al) located in the Loop. I thought that it served our needs, but my husband wasn't at all impressed .There is an adequate closet,... Read more

We went there for a mini family vacation. The hotel is very cozy. Most people who work there super friendly. They made us feel welcome all the time. We had a great experience with a sweet young woman Mari who treated my 3 year old girl and my baby like her owns every night she saw the kids. Also the room was super cozy, they were able to give us a big king bed and a crib plus little refrigerator for the kids food. The room also has a comfortable sofa to feed my baby. It is not super near Michig... Read more

Perfectly located to explore downtown Chicago, Michigan lake beaches and the nearby Lincoln park. All within walking distance plus an L train station just round the corner. Very enjoyable stay with the family at a very fair price in a pleasant neighbourhood. Ernest Hemingway used to live on the other side of the road.

I am very happy with the customer service at front desk when we checked in. Lisa made us feel welcome and gave us a lot of tips visiting Chicago. She even went out of her way making the arrangement of our room request. We're thrilled about the room we finally got. Thank you, Lisa!

Pros: very affordable view far exceeded our expectations, very clean, comfortable, nice lobby and bar, great location, parking, nice staff Cons: small, elevator broke down as we were checking out. Verdict: worth every penny, definitely recommend staying here. If you are not spending a lot of time in your room then the size of it is barely a complaint.

We have stayed at Indigo Gold Coast many times. This time, I was struck by the many ways in which the property needs to be updated- the floor in our room was "peeling", the paint was chipped in several places, the bed sagged in the middle.

Funky room, and nice restaurant and bar. But. Arrived yesterday. No, 'welcome to Chicago', where are y our coming from??, no hello, nothing. Don't bother me. Daytime staffer on the desk, glued to screen, only provides marginal help when pressed.

I have stayed at this hotel a couple times now and truly enjoy it. The staff go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need for your trip. They have a new menu in the dining area and the bar is cozy and perfect for the area. I enjoy staying here as you are close to the busy Chicago scene but not right in the middle of it.

This was our first stay here, I wasn't wowed but I wasn't disappointed. Our single bed room was small, but since we were not spending too much time there it was fine. The room seemed clean, not spotless but I felt comfortable enough, there were a few minor things that could use repair. We opted to just have the room straightened before night 2 and that seemed to be more than enough. There is a lot within walking distance of the hotel, but if you don't feel like venturing out their breakfast and... Read more

Firstly this hotel was in a great location. Very easy walk to Michigan Avenue and the many restaurants in the local area. Also close to a Metro station, which made getting further afield easier. Most of the staff were very welcoming and efficient, and the room was very quiet, roomy and really comfortable. Had a good nights sleep and the bed quality was excellent. Bathroom was very small, but adequate, with shower, rather than a bath and shower. Some things, like the carpet in the hallways, cert... Read more

Great Hotel with an even better location! The room was spacious, though we did have the corner room. We had a king bed, with room for a roll-away bed and another air mattress plus a little table to sit at and a lounge chair. There were four adults that slept in this room and we were not cramped. We were in town for a concert, and this was the perfect place for us for a couple nights!

The people were friendly. The beds were super soft, and the bathroom reminded me of being at the beach shower house. The food was a bit pricey but it was healthy foods :) Parking was usually full but we took a taxi to the hotel. If you want to go to places, use a taxi.

Loved this boutique hotel in a great area. Rooms are nice, comfortable with great views. This is an old hotel that has been redone so the configuration will be a bit odd but we loved the boutique vibe. Service was great and be sure to have a drink in the bar. There are 3 of us in Chicago for a wedding. We wanted to be on the north side of the loop and we chose the Hotel Indigo on north Dearborn. The hotel is in a quiet area and there is a parking garage next door. Parking was $48 per day via a valet -with no discount for hotel guests. We got 2 king rooms on the 3rd floor. One of the rooms is dark with a window that looks at a wall. It was my mistake to not have asked for rooms on a higher floor (there are 14 stories). The rooms have lots of litt... Read more

If you need to stay on the Gold Coast, the Hotel Indigo is a (sometimes) affordable option. I've stayed here a couple of times and it's consistently beat up and a little dirty. On this last visit, I "enjoyed" a really dirty bathroom wall, mold in the shower, a laminate floor that's peeling up and a stained comforter.

We were fearful coming to Chicago for 3 days when the news says they have the more shootings & gunshot deaths than New York & Los Angeles combined. We found the Indigo to be in an upscale residential area that was safe for walking. The room was very pleasant with pleasing colors and everything up to date. The prices were not cheap but it was a pleasure. The hotel is within walking of buses & the on/off bus for a good time as a tourist in Chicago.

Positives: -great location- the hotel is within walking distance to the beach and Miracle Mile. It is located in a cute neighborhood with all amenities nearby and within walking distance. -hotel staff were mostly pleasant -the hotel used to be the Claridge Hotel and has some history, although it has been redone for the most part Negatives: -since it is an old hotel there is NO soundproofing and you can hear your neighbors - no refund policy I originally booked in Nashville and transferred my... This hotel is located on a quiet residential street a very short distance away from the CTA red line, and is also within an easy walk to the shops of Michigan Avenue. Several busy bars and restaurants are also close by, which makes for an all-round great location to be when visiting Chicago. The hotel itself is a bit dated. I enjoy the bright colorful decor, but some of the common areas of the hotel could use a re-fresh. It's also worth noting that some rooms face inward instead of outward; if ... Read more

My wife and I recently stayed here and the location was perfect. Walking distance to subways, Michigan Ave, even to Grant Park and the Navy Pier if you're adventurous. The hotel staff helped with directions and dining recommendations. But our room wasn't in tip top shape. The shower nozzle broke off on first use. We rigged it back up and reported it to the front desk. We checked back at the end of the day and no-one had come to look at it and the front desk had no knowledge of our request. Addit... Read more

Staff was unable and unwilling to help rectify this problem. Rooms are really small. No refrigerator. 16" TV... Really. Cleanliness average at best. Understand that this is an old building but for a property that is rated 4* it should have better room amenities. P.S. I work in a 4* hotel so this is not coming from the average guest. Grea... We were in 904. The room layout is a little quirky with a small area at the entrance which included a wardrobe and coffee maker alcove, then you went into the bedroom which also had a little seating area and space for a desk, and then there was an alcove with sink which was separate from the room with toilet & shower. The layout wasn't a problem as such but it was always very warm in the room. There were two A/C vents but they didn't seem to make a lot of progress. It was a VERY hot day so ... Read more

The hotel decor and overall ambience was cheery and welcoming. Very nice neighborhood within walking distance to the train, many restaurants and coffee shops.
