Always love staying here. The bright decor is inviting and the parking garage next door is extremely handy. I like the set up of the bathrooms as there are lots of hooks and places to lay out items. Will stay there again.

This is a nice and clean hotel, seems quite recent, and well located if you have to be downtown. They have a pleasant bar, and an adequate restaurant, but there are plenty of options in the area. The rooms are clean but Spartan. The bathroom was small, with just a shower, and I like a bath tub. They say that no one uses the iron and iron board in hotels, and I had to unwrap it. Glad to be able to refresh the press on my shirt after the suitcase. I could not work out how to program the alarm, an... Read more

This was just a wonderful place to stay for a single guy. You walk into a small lobby. There is a small wonderful bar to. The right. One female bartender was great. The male the next night was sad. To the left you find a check-in counter with very nice people. They send you to a room that is small but welcoming. The bedroom was small but the bathroom was huge. For me, this was a perfect room. I get more pleasure from a bathroom then the room. Now we come to the surroundings. A half b... Read more

This was the first of six hotels on our coach trip from Chicago to New Orleans with Archers. Our room was very small compared to the usual American hotel rooms. One huge bed and about 18 inches on each side. Wallpaper on the bedhead wall was huge blueberries... reminded me of wrapping paper. Good thing we were only there two nights The rest of the room was painted purple.Lime green sheer curtains and blackout curtains that were torn.We had only a small dressing table and no surface at all to p... This hotel is located in a lovely area of the city and has convenient "all-purpose" stores very nearby. It's a bit of a hike to the train, so you'll probably be riding in a taxi to get around. The hotel entry is inviting, though quite small, as is the bar located just as you walk in. The room was tiny, even compared to most older hotels (Congress, Palmer House, et al) located in the Loop. I thought that it served our needs, but my husband wasn't at all impressed .There is an adequate closet,... Read more

We went there for a mini family vacation. The hotel is very cozy. Most people who work there super friendly. They made us feel welcome all the time. We had a great experience with a sweet young woman Mari who treated my 3 year old girl and my baby like her owns every night she saw the kids. Also the room was super cozy, they were able to give us a big king bed and a crib plus little refrigerator for the kids food. The room also has a comfortable sofa to feed my baby. Perfectly located to explore downtown Chicago, Michigan lake beaches and the nearby Lincoln park. All within walking distance plus an L train station just round the corner. Very enjoyable stay with the family at a very fair price in a pleasant neighbourhood. Ernest Hemingway used to live on the other side of the road.

I am very happy with the customer service at front desk when we checked in. Lisa made us feel welcome and gave us a lot of tips visiting Chicago. She even went out of her way making the arrangement of our room request. We're thrilled about the room we finally got. Thank you, Lisa!

Pros: very affordable view far exceeded our expectations, very clean, comfortable, nice lobby and bar, great location, parking, nice staff Cons: small, elevator broke down as we were checking out. Verdict: worth every penny, definitely recommend staying here. If you are not spending a lot of time in your room then the size of it is barely a complaint.

We have stayed at Indigo Gold Coast many times. This time, I was struck by the many ways in which the property needs to be updated- the floor in our room was "peeling", the paint was chipped in several places, the bed sagged in the middle.

I have stayed at this hotel a couple times now and truly enjoy it. The staff go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need for your trip. This was our first stay here, I wasn't wowed but I wasn't disappointed. Our single bed room was small, but since we were not spending too much time there it was fine. The room seemed clean, not spotless but I felt comfortable enough, there were a few minor things that could use repair. We opted to just have the room straightened before night 2 and that seemed to be more than enough. Great Hotel with an even better location! The room was spacious, though we did have the corner room. We had a king bed, with room for a roll-away bed and another air mattress plus a little table to sit at and a lounge chair. There were four adults that slept in this room and we were not cramped. There are 3 of us in Chicago for a wedding. We wanted to be on the north side of the loop and we chose the Hotel Indigo on north Dearborn. If you need to stay on the Gold Coast, the Hotel Indigo is a (sometimes) affordable option. I've stayed here a couple of times and it's consistently beat up and a little dirty. On this last visit, I "enjoyed" a really dirty bathroom wall, mold in the shower, a laminate floor that's peeling up and a stained comforter.

We were fearful coming to Chicago for 3 days when the news says they have the more shootings & gunshot deaths than New York & Los Angeles combined. We found the Indigo to be in an upscale residential area that was safe for walking. The room was very pleasant with pleasing colors and everything up to date. The prices were not cheap but it was a pleasure. The hotel is within walking of buses & the on/off bus for a good time as a tourist in Chicago.

Several busy bars and restaurants are also close by, which makes for an all-round great location to be when visiting Chicago. The hotel itself is a bit dated. We were in Chicago for a wedding and the wedding family stayed at the Hotel Indigo. It's attractive -- interesting color scheme and very well decorated. The rooms are pretty standard-to-small, but had the necessities. The service was very good every time we encountered staff. And the location is terrific. Lots of great restaurants in the area. Never do I ask for a hotel to accommodate me when I arrive early, I get it. But when your flight arrives at 6:00 AM and you've been up since 1 AM it would nice if the hotel at least pretends to help you. Hotel Indigo is a great hotel within walking distance to Magnificent Mile and also Red Line train station. It was on a list of hotels on the DePaul University website and we decided to give it a try. So happy we did. Great, pleasant staff. We accessed the train to get to DePaul and you're just less than a block away from Chicago nightlife. Of course for me that is checking in at 8 pm and then finding the nearest Garrett's Popcorn store. We'll be back for another stay for DePaul Family Weekend.
