Stay across from The Penninsula and Tiffany's and the expenses of Michigan Avenue without all the costs. Suite-style rooms give you plenty of room to relax at the end of the day. The rooftop pool area is perfect for unwinding and getting a great view of the city. It's not glitzy but the money you save on your hotel you can binge on shopping and restaurants. An easy stroll to the red line at Chicago and State from there you can get anywhere - easy to get to Wrigley Field. The breakfast bar was ab... Read more

Went here on vacation with my fiance, and it was the perfect hub for our trip to Chicago. It's literally a 1 minute walk from The Mag Mile, and is a fantastic hotel for the price. Although the room is nothing fancy it is huge, and the bed was seriously better than many that I have slept in at 'higher class' hotels. Would definitely stay here again.

Admittedly, I accidentally booked this Homewood Suites instead of the one on Grand (about 6 blocks away). We usually stay at the one on Grand. This one has very nice rooms with great views, a decent breakfast, and a slightly odd but nonetheless cool rooftop pool. It is definitely a good choice for families who'd like a little room to spread out. The cons: The lobby is TINY, which made check-in a headache. Plus, a pet peeve of mine is when you arrive early to check-in and ask them to call yo... Read more

Address doesn't match the Internet address but very nicely located. Desk clerks run back and forth between the Hampton and the Homestead adding to check in and check out confusion. The rooftop pool is clean, but small and the handicapped pool lift was not working when I was at the pool which was disappointing to those requiring that service. My husband and I have, in the past, stayed at the uniquely Chicago properties like the Palmer House, the Knickerbocker, the Drake and such. Great location but the hotel doesn't even have in room movies, the room layout is awkward, the TV's are shoved into corners so you have to stand in front of the living room TV to see it or twist your head sideways in bed. I've had great experiences with Homewood Suites in the past, and this one was no exception. The location is great right, just off the Magnificent Mile, so close to great dining and shopping options everywhere. Our room was in great condition and we took advantage of having the appliances, bringing our leftovers from dinner/dessert home to enjoy the next day. We had our daughter with us and the pullout bed in the couch worked great for her to sleep. It was nice to have the complimentary break... Read more

Great downtown Chicago location. Plenty of good food within easy walking distance and if you get a room on the upper floors a great view of the city. Breakfast and dinner were both well above average.

We had an awesome weekend with family - close to great dining options and shopping, not far from sightseeing. Our rooms were spotless, the staff was helpful, the breakfast was well-stocked and well-maintained. The beds were very comfortable and the wifi was even fast! We had a fantastic city and lake view on the 35th floor. Would definitely stay at this property again.

This Hotel is also connected to some office buildings. There are two sets of elevators - one for hotel and one for office building - they are across from each other. I was finishing up some work, got off one elevator to get on the elevator to go to my room. Was approached by a strange man for money. I was very very uncomfortable. Fortunately another male hotel guest came around the corner and saw me. We let the gentlemen get on the elevator (I don't think he was a hotel guest at all). I t... Read more

The trip from FL was to bury my husband. The trip to Chicago was to visit a close friend who has cancer and ended up in the hospital at the time of visit. This hotel was directly across the street from the medical facility, which took away the added stress of driving before the visit. So for the convenience alone, Homewood was the perfect place to stay.

Room was ready an hour after check-in time. Hotel did not offer to hold our luggage, while we waited in the lobby. They also didn't offer a time for it to be ready. The room was clean once it was ready. However, I think they could have done more when they saw us waiting with our bags and whinning children.

We stayed here for my husband having surgery at Northwestern. The valet who greeted us was very kind and helpful (we were a bit frustrated from traffic and not knowing where we were going). The location was very good for access to the medical center. We enjoy the suite style room, given our circumstances of staying in town an extra day after hospital discharge but still recovering. The breakfast in the Lodge was very nice (only had it one day so far, two to go). The desk staff has been friendly.... Read more

Couldn't have been happier with the location of this hotel. It was exactly what my family and I were looking for when we wanted to stay near Michigan Avenue. It isn't always easy to find a hotel room in downtown Chicago that can accommodate 3 people in beds that are larger than Doubles. This room with a King bed and a King pull out sized couch was perfect for our family.

As so many hotels are scrimping on the size of rooms, this one gives you plenty of room to stretch out, with a kitchenette, a living area and a separate bedroom. Everything was clean and in great working order. Well done. If there was any downsize, they did not have WGN on the cable tv. Oh well, so I had the watch the Cubbies in a sports bar. A pretty good thing, if you ask me!!

Even though it is near the hospital, you don't hear sirens at night. We were going to stay in the loop & I'm glad we didn't. You are 1 building from Michigan Ave. The bus stop is at the corner, Walgreen's is a block or 2 away near the Water Tower. It is a very safe area. The breakfast was always different & very good. The free Monday thru Thursday night mini buffet was excellent. It came with free wine, beer, juice. If you didn't want to go out this could be your supper.

Then had problems checking out and with getting car out of parking garage because still had wrong room so almost had to pay for parking but got that resolved. The room was nice for the price. Really enjoyed the stove and fridge in room. Made supper in room to save money and worked out perfect.

Check-in took a while because no one was working at the front desk when we arrived. This hotel is (directly) connected to a Hilton and the staff were all at their desks. No indoor pool. Other than that - it was a great stay and we had a good time.

My stay was great. The hotel was beautiful and clean. The staff was very helpful even with departure. I was able to walk right to my room even before check in partly because of the online check in and pick your room ahead of your stay. The only thing was the two hotels in one building was a bit confusing, but not a problem.

We decided last minute to go to Chicago for the CUBS game with the family. When we arrived staff was attentive, helpful and knowledgeable. I loved the kitchen and the set up where there are two doors in the king bedroom suite so you can both have access to the bathroom but not be in each others sleeping space. Close to the Magnificent Mile and Navy Pier as well. We could see the Lake from our window on the 22nd floor.
