This hotel is well located within the loop and is close to the highway and there is a CTA station a few yards form the lobby. The neighborhood isn't the best but at least you can quickly exit to go and visit Chicago. Prices are fair and staff is OK. Rooms are clean but not necessarily state of the art.

My husband booked this place because it was close to the Willis Tower and I had to be there for an award. When we pulled up to the hotel, my husband realized he had stayed here years ago and did not enjoy his stay. Long story short, we have not enjoyed this stay either. To begin, it's hard to get to. Next, there is one really surly "hospitality" rep at the front desk, and we met her. The first day, we got a complimentary breakfast at Sunny's. When I went down to get breakfast vouchers the next d... Read more

We went to Chicago to see the Van Gogh Exhibit at the Art Institute. This was our first time in Chicago. This hotel was one of the cheapest we could find, and we trust the Holiday Inn name. The hotel staff was friendly, including the valet. Check-in was fast. We had the rate that included the parking and breakfast, just to save a few dollars. The room was average. Bathroom was small (with no exhaust fan). The room was clean. Our view wasn't so great, it was of an abandoned building and the stree... Read more

This hotel is located in the heart of downtown... Staff is very friendly and professional. The rooms are smaller than a traditional room. Good stay for a business trip, many eateries nearby. It can be a little noisy throughout the night, but it's to be expected in a major city!

Average hotel. Rooms are clean and have enough outlets. The staff was courteous and kind. The hotel lounge was a nice happy hour wind down and club members get a free wine or beer. Had a restaurant with decent prices. Located close to downtown Walkable from the train station.

I was initially discouraged by the huge empty/abandoned building across from the hotel...but after we settled in, me and my boyfriend headed to the cafe downstairs and had an awesome time. Two free beers, free appetizers, excellent Chicago style burgers/ pork chops/veggies (not free, lol)...The atmosphere seemed very Chicagoan sports bar-like which I thought very cool. Our waiter was very cool and chill. He advised the Belgian waffle was huge, but when i got it...I was not prepared for the mount... Read more

We travelled with extended family and opted for the pull out couch bed so that the small children could sleep in the other room. It was the most uncomfortable bed ever! That said we were very impressed with the friendly and helpful staff, the breakfast and dining areas, and the cleanliness of the rooms. One problem that continued throughout our stay was that the magnetic strips on the room keys refused to work after one swipe. No matter where we kept our keys the problem would not go away! The h... Romali however saved the day and opened the pool deck for their photo op. It save us time and had some great pictures for the group. I like this hotel. It's very clean and friendly. The bar downstairs isn't too bad; food is d+. I stayed here twice and both times I was put in the same room (not sure how that happens). There isn't any entertainment or food close to this hotel, and the location is VERY loud (Traffic, fire trucks, etc) which is why I don't like to stay here.

The Hotel is about a half mile walk from the Amtrak Station and so was an ideal stop for me as I was taking it the following day. It is also central to Chicago so a short walk to the lake front, etc. The Hotel is slightly tired in the rooms, however, mine was spotlessly clean.
