Booked the hotel through Hilton and had never stayed here before. The hotel is located near Michigan Avenue so you can easily walk to the Magnificent Mile. There are some good restaurant options nearby. Staff was very friendly and helpful in recommending restaurants and parking. Location is very good and would definitely stay here again. We had a partial view of the river which was very nice.

Smaller Hilton Garden Inn. Valet was not super convenient. Good location. Lobby pretty small. Very convenient location. I just felt like I paid too much for the room considering hotel. I would stay at the other Hilton Garden Inn location. It has a much better vibe and amenities

What a perfect location. We took the train in from the airport and the 10 minute walk from the station to the hotel along the river was lovely. Millennium Park, art galleries and shopping are a quick walk to the south. Eataly is a relaxing walk to the north. The River Walk is on the doorstep and there are many wonderful restaurants nearby. The hotel is clean and well-decorated. The refreshments in the lobby were well appreciated after our long hikes. There are so many places of interest a... Read more

From the time I walked up to the front desk to when I left, I found most everyone was smiling, very friendly, hospitable, and very helpful. I will definitely stay at this hotel next time I'm in Chicago. The bartender/server, the housekeeping lady and front desk team was especially nice. Wish I caught their names so I could list them here.

We arrived in Chicago excited the hotel staff took us to our room with NO closet. Help we were attending a wedding with formal clothing which needed to be hung. That evening we made the bed down and the fitted sheet did not cover the mattress. We had to have them change the sheets twice for this problem. We left the hotel early and were gone all day to return to our room NOT made up or the staff making the room up at 4:00 PM or after, ever day of our stay. Although the location was good the ab... It's a great location for visiting tourists - close to the local attractions and restaurants. Clean hotel, friendly staff. the bar closes at 10pm, which isn't a big issue, there are plenty of other bars close by, but it would be nice to grab a quick drink before bed at the hotel after 10pm

We were only in Chicago for a couple of days and the price of our hotel stay was massively hiked due to an Oncology Conference taking over the town. Nonetheless, this hotel was perfectly fine. Clean, efficient and had all the mod cons you require from a decent hotel. It wasn't impressive, but equally there wasn't anything to complain about. The lobby and décor of the room was generic and perfectly fine, if a little bland and uninspiring. The reception staff couldn't be more helpful. We di... Read more

This hotel is in a great location to Michigan Avenue and some great restaurants. It is no thrills as there is no continental breakfast, pool or gym. This is a place for just needing a bed for the night and being out during the day enjoying the sights and sounds of Chicago. The room was nice and clean with a small fridge (crucial for any hotel) and a small microwave. The rooms are very tiny. Visited this Hilton Garden Inn the past few days and we enjoyed our stay! Very clean rooms. A little on the small side in my opinion. Not really for families with small kids. No pool which was a bummer and they didn't have cribs available. But it was very clean and right in the middle of everything you could want! Overall we enjoy our stay.

Needed get away from work so left the north suburbs of Chicago for a stay in the big city. We found the location of the hotel very convenient as we went to the theater and did some shopping on Michigan Avenue. We had a corner room, that provide excellent views of the Chicago River and the city. We also got an excellent AAA rate!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel during a leisure trip in December 2015. The hotel had only been open a few months, so the Uber drivers had difficulty finding us, and some drivers even canceled our trip after we'd been waiting on them for 10 minutes. That was frustrating. On the other hand, there is a taxi stand immediately across the street, so after our Uber driver canceled, we just jumped in a waiting cab. Despite the difficulty for Uber drivers to find it, the location can't be beat, espec... Read more

Great view of the river and surrounding architecture. Clean and quiet and close to many attractions. Used uber to get there from O'Hare and it took about 25 minutes (late Friday night) and was less than $30. The only downside was using the pantry in the lobby. A bottle of water was $4.50.

Microwave allowed us to heat oats and soup when we wanted a light meal. Housekeeping was good with towels changed every day. This hotel is 26 floors, and one of the elevators was out of service while I was there. When both were "working" one would be running, but the other stayed at the 26th floor the whole time. We stayed here twice in July. Service is very good and the rooms are decent. The biggest issue is that they have too few elevators for the size of the hotel, so plan on waiting every time you want to head downstairs or back up to your room. Still worth staying at if you can get a decent rate, and a good location. One suggestion to management - the entryway is small and crowded with chairs and plants, making it hard to turn from the revolving doors in to the reception area. Perhaps take thes... Read more

I agree with all the reviews here we had a great 3 nights at this hotel last week. Check in was seamless, our room had a great view of the city and river, the location is perfect for walking to Milennium Park, Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue and the hop on hop off bus was handy for our first trip around the city. Loved this place. Breakfast was very good, and the bar man was very friendly and helpful.

From check in to check out and everything in between, this hotel has excelled. Cleanliness, employees who enjoy their jobs and know customer service, and decent restaurant. If you are looking for a hotel in this area, look no further. The only bummer was the length of time it took for hot water to make it through the pipes to the 10th floor.

We visited Chicago for the first time. Wasn't sure exactly where to stay, Loop or River North? This hotel was perfect with easy walking distance to restaurants, attractions, and public transit. Hotel is tall and skinny. Our floor only had 8 rooms, we had partial city view and overlooked street. Rooms are on the small side but large bathroom with walk in shower. Very comfortable bed, fridge in the room, safe in closet, Keurig coffee maker. We found the rooms very quiet, only occasional street noi... Read more

I have no complaints at all about this stay. Staff was friendly and efficient from arrival to departure. Room was clean and in near-perfect condition. Room was a little bit of a tight squeeze with two beds in it, but that is not uncommon in downtown hotels. Wifi worked well. Location is great -- close to the L train system and only a block from Michigan Avenue and close to lots of restaurants and shopping. Would stay here again if in Chicago!

I stayed for a week for work and was thrilled with my experience there. The rooms were clean, the people who work there are incredibly friendly, and the location is perfect. The hotel is located within walking distance of so many great things to see, and the fantastic riverwalk and architectural boat tours are only a couple blocks away. This hotel has a microwave, refrigerator, & coffee maker in the rooms. As a runner, I need to be able to have breakfast at least two hours before I run. 4am is usually the right time to do so, and the Hilton Garden Inn makes it possible to have a hot breakfast when no other places are open. I read reviews before booking this hotel. I unfortunately did not have the same experience they did. Check in was not welcoming and was a little frazzled. The sheets did not fit the king size bed. Housekeeping did not make up our room the first day. On a positive note it was in a great location and I thought very good value for the room. The comforter was extremely silky and soft.
