I was attending a three day conference at McCormick Place and stayed at the Hilton. I would absolutely stay there again. I had a spacious room with a refrigerator and large work area. The bathroom though small was quite nice. The lobby area was nice and check in was easy. Friendly staff. Loved the quick snacks at Herb N' Kitchen. The hotel is a little pricey but still good. Only disappointment was there was no cupboard for me to hang my clothes and I had to call housekeeping for an iron a... Read more

Not a Hilton fan and this hotel confirmed my choice to stay elsewhere. Check in was a breeze, surprising since the NRA show was in town(National Restaurant Show). The hotel is huge, old and remodeled. Massive banks of very fast elevators, clean, comfortable and semi modern rooms. I was lucky to have a semi view if I looked the right way otherwise the view was directly into the next tower rooms. The toilet in my room flushed so hard it sprayed water onto the floor and my clothes! The shower had h... Read more

Stayed here for NRA Show. Had room 1612. Great view and very comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Too long of wait checking in. Being a HH member the lines are normally quicker. Non members were checking in twice as fast. Had a couple of issues but while staying but staff corrected them quickly and made up for inconvenience. Hotel held up to the Hilton Brand. Would highly recommend staying here. The hotel has ton of history to it.

Our favorite Chicago hotel because of the views of Lake Michigan. Ask for a lakeside room. The location is perfect for our visits to the Field Museum, aquarium, planetarium, and Soldiers Field (Museum Campus). Self parking is attached to the hotel with in and out privileges plus taxis are plentiful and readily available from the hotel. We walked back from Navy Pier, about two miles away, along the lakeside pathway. It was so pretty to see the moored boats in the marinas and you can see ... Read more

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend. The hotel was very busy with many different and diverse groups: wedding parties, high school band groups, adult groups, families, etc. The well-trained staff handled the large crowd with no apparent issues. I thought that the management was very proactive in controlling potential issues. Hotel looks to have been recently renovated. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Good job Hilton!

The hotel is kept clean considering the age and the design of the hotel. The hotel is conveniently situated and is near to the downtown and also opposite the park. The design is probably outdated and more modern touch would be maybe a good thing. The terrace is very nice and you het the sun after 11 am. The indoor swimming pool and the two spas are great for relaxation. The gym is also very good and it even has an i door small athletics trac with many fitness machines nicely spread in the middle... I normally don't do reviews but I had to after spending 300 a night here. This place was one of the best hotels I've stayed at just for looks. But when it came to the room it was horrible. The fridge didn't work and you can hear everything I mean everything that goes on in halls and the rooms all around me. Then to top it off there computer screen will turn on through out the night like some one was checking on us. The people that work there are awesome but the rooms and cost is poor.

I stayed at a few Hilton and many Hamptons by Hilton. Love them. For the last 2 years I‚??ve spent 6+ months in 40+ hotels. This one, Hilton Chicago is the WORST of all. I arrived to this iconic and historic building. My first impression was magnificent. Then I get to the check-in desk, where there is a line of 10+ people. With 8 desks, only 2 is operating. I've stayed in some pretty upscale hotels around the world, but I love this Hilton most in Chicago simply because of its location! It's right on Michigan Ave. with all transportation at the door and, best of all, about two blocks from the Art Institute - my favorite museum, period. I returned last week after staying seven nights at the Hilton Chicago on a business trip. The hotel rooms are large by Chicago standards. But overall, the hotel is in need of additional remodeling. My room's carpets and trim were faded, and the bathtub water pressure was virtually nihl. This was the 5th Blackhawks Convention for my sister, niece, a friend and I. Some other friends joined us during the day for their first Hawks convention. We have stayed at the Hilton every year after making the exhausting daily weekend train commute our first year. Some years we have been able to get the convention room package that included two weekend convention passes and 1 guaranteed autograph of a top player. We stayed here to visit with overseas family. The hotel took the time to advise us how to navigate the trains from the airport. Once checked in, we found the hotel comfortable and clean, elevators were fast and didn't smell. Our room was freshly decorated, roomy and well maintained during our four night stay. Bedding was excellent. TV had a mind of its own and went out during a rainstorm. In room touchscreen hotel directory was fussy.

The hotel sure is beautiful, and our rooms were amazing. Also to be right at the Michigan Avenue is great, but it is unbelievable how much you have to pay extra! There's no WiFi for the rooms inclusive, or breakfast. And even the "Free WiFi" in the lobby didn't work all the time. I understand that this is a High End Hotel, but when you already pay so much money for it breakfast and WiFi could at least be included just like you find it in other hotels as well.

Stayed here for a convention; this place has the location right on Michigan Ave across the street from Millennium Park and on theater row with many good food options. The hotel was hopping partly due to the convention. Nice hotel, but during the weekend we were there, the hotel was over run with Blackhawk hockey fans. It was their annual fan fest. We thought that the Hotel should have let their out of town guest know there would be literally thousands of hockey fans running amuck in the hotel. When I pay over $300 per night, I expect a more relaxed atmosphere. I would have stay somewhere else.

For the price I'd pick this Hilton property vs the Sheraton which I've stayed in as well. The double bed room w/two bathrooms is a huge plus for families. The property was decently updated, has historic charm and is super convenient w/in the city. Advice: If not a Hilton member, sign up prior to arrival. Wait line for check in was not properly staffed and Hilton Honor's members can go to separate line for speedier assistance.

This is a historic hotel and for some that will be a big enough attraction to stay here. They have done a good job of taking a hotel that is closing in on its first century and modernized it. However, there are multiple elevator banks that only go to certain floors meaning you might be switching just to get to where you are going. The restaurant options in the hotel are okay but not great. There really isn't anything to do immediately around the hotel so its a 5 to 10 minute walk to the action o... Read more

I stayed here for a conference for work. Loved it! I was in one of the business class rooms. Very spacious and well laid out. I was pretty surprised at the walk in closet. I was also impressed with receiving text messages to rate how my stay was going so far. When I rated it an "8" the person asked what to do to make it a "10". I chose the Chicago Hilton because it was the sponsor hotel for the Chicago Marathon. The hotel is well located for the start and finish of the marathon but that's about the only good thing about it. The good restaurants are mainly on the north side of the river and the Hilton felt remote from "the action". The decor of the hotel is old, drab and not good quality. This is an historic hotel in Chicago, and unfortunately the best days seem to be behind it. The rooms are old and depressing. One can hear the metro trains rattle past. The internet does not work at all. There is no bottled water provided in the room, for free or at cost. Visited for a recent conference (also held at the hotel.) It was a tremendously busy weekend - our conference, the President was in town, and the Chicago Marathon was on Sunday. I stayed 3 nights. Check in was swift and very helpful. The room was exactly what I'd requested - high floor, away from the elevator, and on the side facing Grant Park. Clean, nicely done, and well appointed.
