I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel for one night last week. Having stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego, I was expecting more, but was a little disappointed by the hotel, the rooms seemed a bit dated. The location is excellent but the street noise is bothersome and I was on the 10th floor. The staff was excellent and helpful. While I was having lunch in the restaurant, a customers cell phone was stolen by a street person who walked in to ask for money and ran out with the phone. Wifi wa... Read more

Location is unbeatable - right in the center, close to the river and main city attractions. It's easy to get here by train from the airport as well (station: Washington). I had a dinner in hotel's restaurant and it was good. Prices were a bit high, but it was my boss who paid so I didn't worry about it :) I received vouchers for wi-fi and it worked well on my telephone, but didn't work on my laptop. My boss who was on 13th floor could connect to another network but I was on 20th and it didn't wo... Read more

I recently visited Chicago for a business meeting and decided to give the Hard Rock a second chance. This time I asked for a higher floor at check in and had no problem with noise from the lounge. In fact, it was a very quite room. Rooms as very contemporary and comfortable. Hotel is in a very interesting building. Service was very nice and rooms are larger than most Hotels. Great displays all over the hotel of Rock memorabilia

I stayed here while I had family visiting Chicago. I loved the building. All the music memorabilia was great. Each floor has a different artist. I was on the top floor, the Lenny Kravitz floor. On floor 16 was the Prince floor which I had to check out. I loved the in room tablets to order drinks and food from. As well as other helpful information. ū??°Just a heads up. Visited the Hard Rock Hotel in late March with the wife. Valet was awkward because of the lack of space on E Wacker Pl. Our first impression of the hotel was a relatively pleasant one. Our room was hip and contemporary and our view of the river and Michigan Ave. from our corner windows was fantastic. Our bellhop was super nice by pointing out some waterfront hangouts that we might enjoy. I was a little disappointed to find out that the guitar program requires a $500 deposit, but we weren't... There is so much in this hotel to appeal to many people. First and foremost, they get their hospitality right - efficient check-in (we were allowed to check in very early, which we appreciated, we had just gotten off an early flight and wanted to freshen up). The room was very nice, with everything needed - good storage space, good amenities in the bathroom, coffee maker, convenient plugs for recharging. 412 is a great corner room with dual aspect and a fab view of Marina City - very quiet, comfortable and spacious. The historic building is really cool and fantastically well positioned for exploring Chicago and the staff very nice and super helpful. But there's little to distinguish this from any other hotel - I expecting a deliciously cheesy Rock themed hotel! So please - more hard rock.

The rock and roll theme is a lot of fun and the hotel is close to theaters, shopping, and other sights. Easy walking distance to lots of things. Front desk personnel were friendly and fast. Wood & metal modern decor gave my room a nice appearance, but on closer look the furnishings were not high quality. For example, the drawers and cupboard hiding the minibar kept catching on each other like they were not well constructed. On one day that I was in my room during the early evening there was poun... Great location but Wi-Fi was not free and T-Mobile reception was poor on 31st floor. I don't understand why some hotels still try to pad the bill with a charge that should be included in the room rate. Room was clean and view out the window was spectacular.

Stayed at the hotel for a long weekend, and as I've stayed here for business was unprepared for how noisy the lower floor rooms are! Heard sirens and tour busses until late evening. And even though I'd booked through the Hard Rock website, they tried to charge us $15 a day for wifi, which was slow at best. Great staff and location, will try the place again but will go old school and call for reservation next time.

Asked for a higher floor and made it all the way to 21. The view is spectacular. The front desk, bell boy and concierge are outstanding. Not to mention housekeeping. Those ladies are fabulous. Always kept us clean with plenty of towels and such. The business center is first rate. The look and feel of the hotel backdropped by a building build in 1929 is wonderful. The hotel was alright. There were lots of mosquitos in our room for some reason and a few spiders too. There were dead bugs smashed on the walls and ceiling as well as in the window sills. This hotel has a great location for easy walking to most of Chicago's main attractions. The rooms are a good size and beds very comfortable. I like having a coffee maker in the room. I'll put my biases up front. I think Hard Rock hotels, cafes, etc were cheesy clichés even brand new, and this place is tired. Great location and a had a nice bright hotel room (2114). Power outlets at desk and bedside. Lighting is adequate. But the bathroom was only tolerable, cramped, door rotted at bottom, mold on tile grout, and both shower head and toilet paper holders loose. We were within walking distance of just about everything you could think of and the trains were not far either for further attractions. My only complaint, which the hotel can't help, was the noise from the street could be very loud.... Read more

I have stayed at this hotel a couple times and each time I end up having problems. The front desk always ask for more money than what my receipt says online. Very annoying! I had to put 100$ in cash (even though last time I stayed they didn't "accept cash") for room services, that I didn't even use. The blinds in our room had broken screws and fell out of the wall, our neighbor room smelled like smoke the whole time and made our room stink!! At check out I was going to be charged almost 30$ for ... Read more

If you want music there isn't any, no hot tub , no rock and roll! The staff is the best thing this hotel has going. And the beds are very comfy. If you are going business maybe would be ok . But if you want to have fun, this hotel is lacking. The area downstairs is not big at all.

I was on a business trip back in Dec 2015 and chose to stay here. Let me tell you right off the bat - This is one of the best hotel options you would have in the city. Why I say that is primarily because of the location. This is in the heart of Downtown Chicago right opposite Illinois center. You can just take a walk down the road and enjoy the beauty of the town! I didn't like the customer service and felt like they didn't care about greeting people with a smile at all. The two people were real... Read more

I did not get everything I asked for as far as reservation is concerned. You have to pay to get a microwave in your room. Parking is outrageously expensive. The entire hotel is overpriced. I believe all I paid for was the convenience of the event that I was attending. Location is very nice as well.

Work hard and play hard! Great location on N. Michigan Avenue close to restaurants and shopping and business district. Enjoyed seeing the tribute to Prince! Hotel rooms are nice...just make sure to close your window shades. Hallways are a little dark but that's part of the hotel decor. The staff was friendly and professional. Take a scroll down Magnificent Mile for some awesome shopping. Stop by Garrett's for mixed Cheese/Carmel popcorn a must have while in Chi-town. Don't forget your pie at G... Read more

Beautiful building, worth a look around if passing by. Have stayed several times as usually can be found at a good price for location and standard Service is really good Bars n nightlife a little limited Location is good for eating and shopping. Probably a taxi to nearest nightlife though! You can borrow the guitars that you see around the place to. Give it a go!

My girlfriends and I celebrated their dual birthdays and stayed the night here. I've always wanted to stay here and glad that we did! The lobby is nice, however, it would be better if there was more of an open concept to lounge in. The rooms are amazing, loved our corner room and it was clean. The staff was great. Breakfast at the restaurant was delicious, I recommend the French toast and bacon. Coffee was really good and I'm particular about my coffee. I also got a great deal online so that was... Read more

The hotel staff was great!! Our rooms were clean and beds were so comfortable! With all the Rock n' Roll memorabilia around the hotel my kids had a blast looking at them all! Loved the fact that we were right across the street from Millennium Park and within walking distance to everything. We only used Uber a few times while there! My only negative feedback is the cost of the Wi-Fi! Way too expensive, next time we will plan better on internet coverage. Will for sure be back!!!

Summary: This hotel is excellent for visitors who wish to stay as close to the major tourist attractions as possible without sacrificing on room size and comfort. The Hard Rock Hotel Chicago is is housed in the Carbon & Carbide Building, a historic tower built right on Michigan Avenue in the 1920's. It has a golden roof that is supposed to emulate a champagne bottle and makes it easy to find the building from many places in Chicago. The location really cannot be beat; the Hard Rock is one b... I chose this hotel based on it's location and the good reviews on all travel sites and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The location was PERFECT. We could not have chosen a better spot in the city to stay. It was close to EVERYTHING with restaurants and shopping just steps away. Honestly did not see another hotel that we wished we could have stayed at over this one. The staff was incredible. Friendly and helpful. Warm and welcoming. We spoke with the conceirege Stephanie several times and... Read more

I would have gone right by the Hard Rock Hotel if I had not been looking for as there is nothing that really stands out about it the seem to have a lot of staff but you can wander in without a word being said to you. The Rock Shop is nice but sadly they were missing the one item I wanted to buy. Got something else on sale. It was an okay visit.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this clean, comfortable, attractive hotel. Service was pleasant and efficient. Rooms were quiet. I heard sirens on the street below, but this is Chicago! No noise from neighboring rooms at all. Bed was very comfortable. Towels were nicely sized and soft (not the thin and tiny choices many hotels opt for these days). Room was MUCH nicer than the rooms at the hotel which was the site for the conference I attended. So glad the conference block was closed when I booked... Read more
