I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel for one night last week. Having stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego, I was expecting more, but was a little disappointed by the hotel, the rooms seemed a bit dated. The location is excellent but the street noise is bothersome and I was on the 10th floor. The staff was excellent and helpful. While I was having lunch in the restaurant, a customers cell phone was stolen by a street person who walked in to ask for money and ran out with the phone. Wifi wa... Read more

Location is unbeatable - right in the center, close to the river and main city attractions. It's easy to get here by train from the airport as well (station: Washington). I had a dinner in hotel's restaurant and it was good. Prices were a bit high, but it was my boss who paid so I didn't worry about it :) I received vouchers for wi-fi and it worked well on my telephone, but didn't work on my laptop. My boss who was on 13th floor could connect to another network but I was on 20th and it didn't wo... Read more

I recently visited Chicago for a business meeting and decided to give the Hard Rock a second chance. This time I asked for a higher floor at check in and had no problem with noise from the lounge. In fact, it was a very quite room. Rooms as very contemporary and comfortable. Hotel is in a very interesting building. Service was very nice and rooms are larger than most Hotels. Great displays all over the hotel of Rock memorabilia

I stayed here while I had family visiting Chicago. I loved the building. All the music memorabilia was great. Each floor has a different artist. I was on the top floor, the Lenny Kravitz floor. On floor 16 was the Prince floor which I had to check out. I loved the in room tablets to order drinks and food from. As well as other helpful information. ū??°Just a heads up. Visited the Hard Rock Hotel in late March with the wife. Valet was awkward because of the lack of space on E Wacker Pl. Our first impression of the hotel was a relatively pleasant one. Our room was hip and contemporary and our view of the river and Michigan Ave. from our corner windows was fantastic. Our bellhop was super nice by pointing out some waterfront hangouts that we might enjoy. I was a little disappointed to find out that the guitar program requires a $500 deposit, but we weren't... There is so much in this hotel to appeal to many people. First and foremost, they get their hospitality right - efficient check-in (we were allowed to check in very early, which we appreciated, we had just gotten off an early flight and wanted to freshen up). The room was very nice, with everything needed - good storage space, good amenities in the bathroom, coffee maker, convenient plugs for recharging. 412 is a great corner room with dual aspect and a fab view of Marina City - very quiet, comfortable and spacious. The historic building is really cool and fantastically well positioned for exploring Chicago and the staff very nice and super helpful. But there's little to distinguish this from any other hotel - I expecting a deliciously cheesy Rock themed hotel! So please - more hard rock.

The rock and roll theme is a lot of fun and the hotel is close to theaters, shopping, and other sights. Easy walking distance to lots of things. Front desk personnel were friendly and fast. Wood & metal modern decor gave my room a nice appearance, but on closer look the furnishings were not high quality. For example, the drawers and cupboard hiding the minibar kept catching on each other like they were not well constructed. On one day that I was in my room during the early evening there was poun... Great location but Wi-Fi was not free and T-Mobile reception was poor on 31st floor. I don't understand why some hotels still try to pad the bill with a charge that should be included in the room rate. Room was clean and view out the window was spectacular.

Stayed at the hotel for a long weekend, and as I've stayed here for business was unprepared for how noisy the lower floor rooms are! Heard sirens and tour busses until late evening. And even though I'd booked through the Hard Rock website, they tried to charge us $15 a day for wifi, which was slow at best. Great staff and location, will try the place again but will go old school and call for reservation next time.

Asked for a higher floor and made it all the way to 21. The view is spectacular. The front desk, bell boy and concierge are outstanding. Not to mention housekeeping. Those ladies are fabulous. Always kept us clean with plenty of towels and such. The business center is first rate. The look and feel of the hotel backdropped by a building build in 1929 is wonderful. Old, but modern with the rock and roll memorabilia around. I recommend staying as high as you can because Chicago is a busy place and ... Read more

The hotel was alright. There were lots of mosquitos in our room for some reason and a few spiders too. There were dead bugs smashed on the walls and ceiling as well as in the window sills. This hotel has a great location for easy walking to most of Chicago's main attractions. The rooms are a good size and beds very comfortable. I like having a coffee maker in the room. The Hard Rock is located in one of Chicago's many historic buildings, the Union Carbide building, which resembles a champagne bottle with a gold top when seen from afar. I'll put my biases up front. I think Hard Rock hotels, cafes, etc were cheesy clichés even brand new, and this place is tired. Great location and a had a nice bright hotel room (2114). Power outlets at desk and bedside. Lighting is adequate. But the bathroom was only tolerable, cramped, door rotted at bottom, mold on tile grout, and both shower head and toilet paper holders loose. The blinds in our room had broken screws and fell out of the wall, our neighbor room smelled like smoke the whole time and made our room stink!! I was on a business trip back in Dec 2015 and chose to stay here. Let me tell you right off the bat - This is one of the best hotel options you would have in the city. Why I say that is primarily because of the location. This is in the heart of Downtown Chicago right opposite Illinois center. You can just take a walk down the road and enjoy the beauty of the town! I didn't like the customer service and felt like they didn't care about greeting people with a smile at all. The two people were real... Read more

The Hard Rock Hotel Chicago is is housed in the Carbon & Carbide Building, a historic tower built right on Michigan Avenue in the 1920's.
