My now fiancé and I stayed here the weekend I purposed. I was thoroughly impressed with the room, restaurants, and location. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The food was hot and located right in the lobby. The restaurant was in walking distance of nearly everything we wanted to do as well.

We stayed here after getting a Hhonors email of sale in USA. We booked and saved $80/night. What a delight for a Gold member instead of Palmer House. Located north of the river, it was much quieter and a special floor (21) for members. Our only regret was a $7 uncharge for a full breakfast-must be some new event for Chicago hotels....NEVER had it anywhere else in world! The food was mediocre but better than a roll or cold cereal. The front desk and bell people were very helpful with our ch... Read more

Really enjoyed our stay here, staff very helpful and polite. Had the pool to ourselves. Would love to visit in the summer if we managed to get a good price as never felt cold like it but was worth it. Easy to get about and a fantastic food shop opposite.

Nice property - very close to Michigan avenue, with lots of restaurants in the area. Staff was super, super nice all across the board. Was there on business, but family joined me, and they treated my 11 yo daughter with so much kindness. Really made her feel special while she was there. Held meeting here also - meeting room no windows, but otherwise, fine, and very decent food/beverage. All our attendees - volunteers for our org - had a good stay also.

This hotel offers easy access to Michigan Avenue (2 Blocks) and is close to several good restaurants. Rooms are larger than many Chicago hotels. Lake access is easy if you are traveling during warm weather. Close to Grand Lux, which is a must do while in Chicago. Room was quite and comfortable.

If you want incredible hospitality, accommodations and location, you'll find it here. We had the opportunity to take our daughter and 3 exchange students from Spain and Mexico to Chicago for a few days. As world traveleres, they were so impressed with the accommodations. We were doubly impressed with the hospitality. Our view from our rooms was fabulous. Your staff helped make this a memorable trip for all involved. I WILL be back.

This hotel is within easy walking distance of the river, Millenium Park, Michigan Avenue, Navy Pier etc. We were in town for a conference at the Sheraton, and this hotel was just a couple of blocks away from the conference. The price was very good for the location and the quality of the hotel. My only complaint is that the air conditioner in the room is loud. But I was pleased that there was no noise from the elevator in my room a few doors down, and the street noise was not disruptive. Note tha... Read more

Stayed during an official visit. The room rates were quite reasonable & we could pay in Indian Rupees from online booking. The room was perfect as expected from a Hilton. The hotel is located very near the local attractions and one could easily walk. Good restaurants including Indian restaurant and subway are nearby. View from the rooms facing the waterfront is awesome.

For a first time visitor to Chicago, this is a great location. It's a 10 minute walk to either the Magnificent Mile or the Navy Pier. If you have more energy, you can walk to the Millenium Park or Portilo's Restaurant. Here's a shout out to a wonderful concierge - Kimberly Knox. She helped us with dinner suggestions, how to get around on the bus and general answers about Chicago and things to do. She made our first visit to Chicago better. Also, thanks to a bellman (Big Ben ?) who worked hard t... Read more

I am very upset with this hotel!!! Although the hotel itself was very nice, the front desk staff has failed to file my prepayments week after week after week. I travel with my job and on 3 separate, consecutive visits my job faxed credit card information to cover my stay. Really liked the location, housekeeping staff very friendly, good gym, concierge was excellent. Front desk staff was okay, and 2 elevators did not function properly so lines backed up. Stayed for a business meeting and then for a day of fun in Chicago with out of town friends. The hotel rooms are nice - the breakfast was nice - the lobby was nice - but nothing was over the top great. After trying to find a room for my one night stay for over 2 weeks - and not booking because the rates were all over $300 a night - the week before I found a rate for $188 - well below what my co workers were paying for their "meeting rate" - The meeting planner for our group had asked several t... Nice stay, but could of been better giving the location. The room was ok, the view was excellent, bathroom outdated. Faucet was leaking and needed to be replaced, toilet barely flushed. Pillows weren't that comfortable, housekeeping could use some retraining. Other than that, the front desk staff was excellent very helpful, bellmen were great. The rooftop pool is worth the return, I would recommend another stay, put this as a 8 on my top ten hotels in Michigan Mile Area.

We travel a fair amount, and never expect perfection, however we expected more from the Hilton Doubletree Chicago. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is nice and clean, quiet and has a really friendly staff, we did enjoy our stay. However, there were a few issues that bothered us a little for a hotel (and price) of this caliber. Pros: Clean rooms, friendly staff, prompt service and helpful bell hops. My son and I spent a night here after the Copa America semi-final. We found a very good price on Hotels.com A co-worker had stayed here on a Groupon. It seems the hotel aggressively competes on price through discount sites to keep up occupancy. We were quite pleased with our stay. The room was large, beds were comfortable, air conditioning worked well and kept the room cool. A noon checkout was nice given how many hotels have been pushing a 11 a.m. checkout. It was a busy weekend, and the hotel was full. Service was good in spite of the fact that things were really hectic. Room on the 24th floor was quiet, and I thought the bed was very comfortable. I do have a complaint about the elevators. I frankly felt sorry for folks on middle floors, because it was hard (particularly in the morning) for them to even get an elevator. They'd fill up starting on the 26th floor, and by the time it got down to 18 or 12 or whatever, there was no room. There are 5 el... Read more

Hotel was within walking distance of Navy Pier where our conference was. Staff was super friendly especially the concierge he was super helpful and the A/C units where incredible. Hotel rooms where a little dated as I had stayed here 13 years ago and still looked the same. Rarely have a slept this well in a hotel. The beds are extremely comfortable. And the location is very convenient. A Whole Foods and other conveniences around the corner make it easy to stock up on room snacks. This is a bustling hotel but, despite the crowds, is quiet at night. Nice rooftop pool. Downsides: slow. crowded elevators; could do with a few renovations.

Unfortunately I have to start this review with the negatives, because they outweigh the positives this time around. The negatives - by far THE WORST wifi I have ever experienced in a hotel. I am a Hilton gold member and stay at many Hilton owned properties around the world. I am only happy my stay was for pleasure and not business this time. This hotel is in a great location for Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue, lots of restaurants and shops. My family spent 4 days exploring things around this hotel and we always found something to do. My kids loved the outdoor rooftop pool. There is a big patio/pool area for hanging out. The staff was friendly. The rooms and bathroom is big for a downtown hotel. It was quiet. Hotel is reasonably priced for its location. Rooms are good size and comfortable. My tub clogged which I can't help but wonder why housekeeping would not have noticed this when they cleaned the room before my arrival. I is just hard to beat the location. A block from Michigan Ave and a couple of blocks from Navy Pier, an easy walk to each. The staff was excellent, the room was great. We had great views of the cityscape from our room. The beds were comfy, the bathroom, was great. A few draw backs, no microwave, and no refrigerator. The cleanliness was executable however some dust was built up on the AC vent and tops of the fire sprinklers, I know I am a bit picky on theses things. Overall fantastic.

Staff and management have a lot to learn about the checking in process. Everyone understands check in times but having a sympathetic staff can lessen the blow when they strictly adhere to this policy. Having to wait in multiple lines at multiple times was excessive at best and the obligatory offer of cookies was an insult not a deterrent to feeling better. To many downtown properties vying for your stay and your money to try this property again because it is obvious they don't understand it. Hop... Read more

This hotel was booked at the last minute for the world series games and they came through big time. It is a great location and the the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit dated and need a few things but overall it was a great stay. Right near the Magnificent Mile and all kinds of shops and restaurants.

Was here for a couple of days for business. I loved the location. Easy walking distance to the mag mile, the loop, parks, and so. Attentive staff. Nice, open lobby which was great for relaxing and conversation....even watching some of the Cubs' game.

We stayed on the 13th floor. You could hear the sirens but the street noise was minimal. Our room was clean and nice. I really do not like that in these more upscale hotels do not have fridges you can use. They are all stocked with items that are over priced. There is a small grocery store outside just to the left of the Main door where the taxis drop off they are open late. This was convenient during our stay. The restaurant and bar are over priced but others in my group said the food and servic... Read more

The only good thing I can say about the hotel is the location. I've stayed in Chicago at a minimum of 12 different hotels over the years and this was by far the worst experience. Cleanliness was lacking and most of the hotel staff was down right rude. Dingy and in need of a makeover. But the staff attitude was the largest disappointment and reason I would not recommend to anyone.

I chose this Doubletree for convenience, but it's very unlikely I will return to this property. I have stayed at many Doubletree properties as a Diamond member, including one for almost an entire year. Quite frankly, this hotel did not live up to standards. As a Diamond member, I was offered a complimentary continental breakfast and an upgrade to a full breakfast for $7 more. I told my friend who was staying with me that the Doubletree breakfasts were quite nice and you could order made-to--orde... Read more

Not only the hotel has perfect location and facilities but also great staff. When we told them that we were celebrating our 20th anniversary of marriage, they surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne!!

I stayed here because I couldn't stay where my friends were. I'm glad I did. The checkin was friendly fast and efficient. My room on floor 20 was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. Will stay here again.

I love the Hilton Hotel and will stay at any hotel owned by the Hilton. The Double Tree Hotel was a wonderful stay for me while in Chicago. The location is an excellent location because it is within walking distance from everything. If I am ever in Chicago again, I will be staying at the Double Tree by Hilton.

We loved Chicago. This hotel was right near many things to see and do, without having to take a taxi. Our only comment on the hotel room is that we had no where to sit in our room (double queen) other than the beds. We prefer another chair and /or desk. We also prefer for a mini fridge, so we don't often stay with DoubleTree. This hotel staff was exceptional in treating us as valued customers and we appreciate their friendliness!

The room was adequate and comfortable but the staff were incredible, starting with the reception, housekeeping and particularly "Big Ben" the doorman who provided great advice that made our visit better.

I talked with Jeff H a brand ambassador while I was there and although very persistent I decided not to buy the vacation package from him, he still remained polite and helpful. He definitely persuaded me to put in a little OT.

Can't say enough nice things about this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff greeted us, made us feel welcome, helped us figure out how to get around town. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It is close to Navy Pier and Magnificent Mile, great restaurants nearby and a grocery store next door. Nice big fitness center. Highly recommend this hotel.

A friend and I split the room over a weekend recently and this place is very well located downtown. It was only about a 10 minute walk to Navy pier and a 10 minute walk and most directions found you an incredible amount of bars and restaurants. There is a breakfast place across the road that's absolutely fantastic in the morning. It can get crowded though. I have no problem checking in even know the reservation was at my friends name. Service was fantastic every time we interacted with the sta... Read more

Pleasure and business trip turned out to be an AWESOME stay with AWESOME STAFF! Laura and Eric(server in the restaurant) took the time to ensure all was well with me during my stay. This location is walking distance to shopping, eateries, tourist sites, you name it and it's near this site. I highly recommend leaning on the concierge desk for advice on your day.

I stayed here for 5 nights for a trade show. When I checked in, I was greeted by the beautiful trio of Kierra Moore, Kytora, and Lili. They checked me in quickly and Kierra was very helpful and sent me some amenities. Taylor Smith was also very helpful. Overall, it's one of the best staffs in the business. The breakfast was great and you can't beat the location.

I stayed here for two nights at the beginning of the month and I have many positives. The room I got (corner king) was great, the view wasn't spectacular, but also wasn't awful. The checkin staff were great, checking out and holding my bags was also not a problem. I got a free warm cookie when I arrived as well! My only complaints would be first that the "brand ambassadors" are a bit annoying. Anytime I was sitting in the lobby they would approach and ask if there was anything they could help w... Read more

Needed two rooms for family in Chicago over Thanksgiving holiday. Prices were expensive all over downtown so I went with Hotwire and got the Doubletree Mag Mile, actually Streeterville, but the location was fine. 3 city blocks from Michigan Ave and really a nice location in the summer when Navy Pier is an option. Check in was fine and Ruby was pleasant as she honored our request for the same high floor with specific bed requests. She also gave us free WiFi with our Honors number. The hotel ... Read more

Overall we checked into a room with dirty underwear, stains on the comforter and a very dirty bathroom. The hotel staff was not as great as I would have hoped them to be to solve the breakdowns we had experience. The location of the hotel is great, too bad the hotel staff wasn't what I have always experienced with the Hilton family.

We stayed for one night. A well located hotel - near to the Magnificent Mile of Chicago. The hotel is within walking distance of most major attractions of the city, not far from the historic Water Tower of Chicago. Near the hotel you can find many restaurants of different styles and price levels. Unlike some other contributors, I think that the staff members who served us were efficient and polite. The room was ok, medium size but big enough for us. However, the room was slightly outdated, and ... Read more

This hotel is okay for the price but just don't expect the quality to be anywhere near a newer hotel or one that has been renovated. The décor, fixtures and wall look outdated and rundown. Some of the rooms face directly to the parking structure across the street. We stayed and the Hilton Curio London House the following week and it was soooo much nicer there. The building is older but the inside is renovated and looks swanky with lots of electrical outlets, nice plumbing, gadgets and cool ... Read more
