I have stayed here twice now and both times it was very convenient. It is set up well for business but I probably would not stay here for a leisure trip because it is right along the highway and the views aren't great.

Great location, staff was accommodating considering I checked in very late/middle of the night, but they gave me very good customer service. I was pleased by my room which was clean and furniture was new and clean. The room had a balcony, which I loved being able to sit out on and look across the city. Very, very good location. Actually better than being right in the center of downtown Chicago. Right next to the 94/290 expressway and Whole Foods, Starbucks, Walgreens right across the street and... Read more

Crowne Plaza was a great hotel to have a block for our wedding guests and they provided us a suite at no charge since we met the number of rooms that we committed to. The hotel used to be a lower level hotel and since Crowne Plaza took over, they have renovated the place and it's a very nice stay. Side note, each room has its own little balcony which is nice also, great views of the city skyline and great value in the west loop with easy access to everything downtown.

Was in town for the National Restaurant Association Show this past weekend. Stayed Sunday through Tuesday. Hotel is very clean, staff friendly and rooms well appointed. Would have been nice to have a refrigerator as we were from out of town, but not a huge deal. Every staff member i encountered was very polite and asked me about my stay. The best part for me was the balcony off the room. I sat out there and checked email while drinking my morning coffee. The gym is well appointed as well. Would ... Read more

The Crowne Plaza is in a really good location on the west side of Downtown but with easy access to everything especially as the neighborhood has grown. The hotel is nice and has been renovated but there were some issues. This is an old hotel but was clean and the staff was friendly. The regular rooms are decent size but we booked a corner room that was very VERY small and poorly laid out. Most hotels that offer specific corner rooms as a separate room type do so because they are larger. This is ... Read more

Returned for a large event this past weekend, and had a wonderful time! The hotel staff did a good job keeping up with the large group I was with, who took up a lot of the hotel for the entire long weekend. Bed was comfortable, the room was very clean. Had a minor issue with the safe, but it was resolved. Corner rooms are smaller than the others, and suffer from noise from the highway next to the hotel, but noise from foot traffic outside the room is almost zero. Two negatives: 1. Thos... Read more

I stayed in this hotel for one night. When I arrived, I was welcomed by a very nice check-in staff. The lobby isn't big and sprawling, but it was nice and modern. The check-in was quick, and I received the king room I reserved. The room was spacious and well decorated. I don't know if Chicago hotel rooms are typically small, but this one seemed on the large size for a big-city hotel. Stayed one night before a business meeting downtown. This is a great IHG alternative to being in the loop, and it will save you the hassle and a little cash as well. I'm a platinum and got a nice king quite upgrade which was much appreciated. All staff I interacted with were very friendly and did a great job. This centrally located hotel just off highway. It's about 25-min uber ride from O'Hare. The hotel is aged well but the room is spacious considering in downtown area. The sink of the bathroom does not work and dripped a lot. The staff came and resolved it quickly. If you are here for business and want some fruits, whole food and Mariano's are across street.

Pros: Excellent location, easy to get in and out of the area, plenty of food options in a reasonable distance, quiet rooms (upper floor), super comfortable bed, easy walk downtown, felt safe Cons: Forced valet parking is robbery. Rooms were $386 after taxes and had to pay another $70 or so to park. That drives me nuts. For the money a leaking iron just shouldn't be a problem. Debated giving this hotel three or four stars. On the one hand it really isn't a 4 star facility, however for it's price point it's a bit better than average. Again, if you are comparing it to the next level up hotels (e.g. Marriott, Hyatt, Intercontinental etc.), it doesn't match up. But if you compare it to moderately priced (for Chicago) hotels it is okay. Location is good if you want easy access to Union Station, highway system, grocery stores and a decent range of restaurants. If you want t... Read more

I stayed at this hotel because it was not too far from uic pavilion. I was there for a concert. I enjoyed the Greek restaurants in the area.
