Stayed here recently for business. The hotel is conveniently located and the staff was all very helpful. I liked the breakfast buffet but found the hotel lacking for lunch and dinner alternatives. For the price, I thought the rooms seemed outdated - particularly the bathrooms - not real outdated but definitely showing their age. Twice in three days I returned to my room after 3 pm and my room hadn't been cleaned yet and had to call since the cleaning carts were all gone on my floor. The conci... Read more

Stayed there for a conference. It was convenient to the venue, food was ok, bed was comfy and there were plenty of pillows. The internet was a problem. I had trouble connecting intermittently on my laptop as well as my phone so it was difficult to get work done in my room. They took off an errant charge for minibar purchase from my bill without question. Staff was courteous and helpful -- or tried to be with the wifi thing anyway. Nice view of the river from the room.

I'm already a huge Starwood fan, but the Sheraton Grand Chicago makes it even better with their excellent customer service and generous upgrades. My parents and my uncle and his wife were very impressed with the room. Thank you again for accommodating us - especially on the weekend. Starwood has bent over backwards for me and these kind gestures speak volumes about the brand and specifically your hotel. You can rest assure we'll be back staying at your hotel when we come back to Chicago. Tha... Read more

I stayed at the Sheraton because it was hosting a large dinner meeting. Very nice place. Check in was a breeze, and everyone was very pleasant and helpful. My only complaint was the parking situation. I called ahead to see where to park, and I was told they had parking right in the hotel, either valet or self park. We drove down to park in the lower garage. We were then told self parking was full, and they only had valet parking. What can you do once you are already down in there, and trying to ... Read more

Visiting Chicago for the first time with my wife. Wasn't sure about where to stay? Sheraton has a good reputation in my book, so decided to stay there. WOW... Walking access to the River Walk, the Navy Pier, Downtown, etc. Staff at the conciege desk was so helpful with directions, etc. I called ahead before my arrive and a staff member was able to help me locate a florist in the area and have flowers in the room upon our arrival, in honor of our 35th anniversary! The hotel is a typical Sheraton, but what makes it stand out is the service. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Plus, the location is great. I wouldn't eat there, as the food is really expensive and there are great restaurants within walking distance, but for a home base while in Chicago it's ideal.

Stayed here for a conference and was very impressed with this hotel. My room had a gorgeous view of the river. Being away from heavier city traffic made the room quieter at night than many Chicago hotels I've stayed in before. There is some mild noise from river traffic during the day, mostly tour boats, but it was not unpleasant at all and kind of fun to watch the tours. The bed was amazingly comfortable, with big pillows. We used the self-park option and it was nice to have that option. The ga... Read more

Two of my girlfriends and I were in Chicago for a weekend. The concierge was excellent in helping us get tickets to the architectural tour and suggesting a place for a quick lunch before the tour. The staff here were very nice which is notable given the large crowds the hotel hosts on any given night. We liked the room enough though it did appear that it was in need of a little bit of tlc with some loose/cheap bathroom fixtures, some minor grouting issues in the tub, etc. That said, the location is great, the staff very helpful and the front desk well organized and efficient. It was a pretty though not especially romantic stop for a getaway weekend.

I have no major complaints and no major compliments - not that it's bad thing. I was there for a five-day conference, with a lovely view overlooking the river. What I liked: all the people I dealt with were very nice and helpful. Very comfy bed and roomy shower. Nice big well-equipped gym. It's a little thing, but I liked their cool modern led lamp on the credenza. The staff were extremely helpful and willing to share their in and out knowledge of Chicago. First, I don't give a top mark to any hotel without free internet. So the best would have been a "Very Good." But the door to the room was very tricky because the door is hung poorly. The first time we left the room, I went back for a hat and the door was open. I pulled it shut and heard the latch click closed. But I pushed back open with ease. I finally figured out how to keep it to stay shut, but it left us worried from then on. The bathroom door was out of square and the door wouldn't... Read more

The hotel is not bad. The beds are tiny but extremely comfortable. I will not return just because I don't care to pay 300/night for location with nothing included. The room was smaller than the hotels I've stayed at before with less prestige. I've stayed at hotels closer to the South Loop with free parking, free wifi, spacious, comfortable beds, and good location. If you have the money and don't mind spending more then you might enjoy it more. The lobby was very nice, as was the service.

I didn't discover this until a couple of days before my trip, and then I panicked because I was attending a conference, at high conference season, and everything was fully booked. I stay in Chicago quite often, sometimes for work and other times for fun. I have stayed at nearly every SPG hotel in the Chicago area, and can confidently say that I always have the best experience at the Sheraton Grand. It is not necessarily the most "luxe" or most newly renovated hotel, but it is ALWAYS a warm and friendly experience. This time, when we checked in early, our room was not available but they texted us when it was available. I had used a Suite Night Award to upgrade to a s... Read more

When we decided to visit our daughter in Chicago for her mock-trial competition at NU Law, we booked our room October 3. Between that time and Nov 4, our check-in the Chicago Cubs won the World Championship. We arrived at the hotel at 10:30PM and discovered the hotel was overbooked. This was the first time this had occurred to us and we didn't know how to react. Much to our surprise, the Sheraton Grand booked us a room at the hotel across the street and paid for our night's stay and compliment... Read more

The Sheraton Grand is a beautiful hotel hugging the river. It contains a great steakhouse, Shula's, as well as a wonderful cafe, Le Bistro. The staff from check-in to check-out are friendly, courteous and professional. Enjoy a great room while enjoying Downtown Chicago!!

The hotel is right on the river within walking distance to the lake, Navy Pier and downtown. Our room was just a standard but it was plenty big with a decent view. Even though we weren't on the river side we could see the lake through the buildings and sunrise was gorgeous. It was clean, well-furnished, plenty of storage, and had a coffee maker (which is getting rarer these days). Front desk was efficient and very friendly/welcoming. Housekeeping staff all smiled and greeted us whenever we passe... Read more

I had the opportunity to stay at the Sheraton Grand the first weekend of November 2016. I was in town for the Rugby Weekend. The were very courteous. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated having six pillows on the bed as I needed all of them since they were down filled. The two main gripes I had were the drinks in the hotel bar were way over priced for what I got at local bars. The other was that the bathtub drained super slow. I really hate standing in a pool of dirty... Read more

The first thing that struck us was the pleasantness of the hotel staff. No matter who we spoke with, the person was unfailingly pleasant and helpful. It makes a big difference when you're out of town for a few days. The rooms had enough outlets, although they needed better lighting and the surround lighting in the bathroom mirrors tends to make the reflections fuzzy. The rooms were quiet, and the hotel has a lot of sitting areas where one can get together and talk, or work at workstations. ... Read more

My family and I just completed a two night stay. It was such a wonderful experience. The hotel was well kept with great amenities. The location was perfect. The piece that stood out to me was the staff that worked there. Every single person we came across, no matter their role were incredibly friendly and helpful. They were the ones that made our stay there the best ever. We truly appreciated their attention to the small details - things that may have seemed like a big deal but really mad... Read more

From the time of our arrival to our check-out, we found the customer service at this hotel to be awful. The check-in was painful, as our room (despite it being 7 pm) was not yet ready due to "paint fumes". We got the run around and it took 30 minutes until they were able to find another room for us. The manager promised a credit, which was not included in our bill - had to fight with another manager for this. Also, the room service manager was awful - it took 45 minutes to get a wine opener ... The Sheraton Grand is perfectly situated. It is on the river through the centre of the city and easy walk to the Magnificent mile and not too far to walk from Navy Pier. It is stunning inside and below you will see that the staff are great. We never managed to stay here but wish that we could. We arrived in Chicago having booked through a third party company in the UK. On arrival we were unfortunately told that we had no room. Before the Sheraton is blamed this was nothing of their doing. After a four night stay, I would definitely return to this hotel. My only negative experience was that after an expensive upgrade, Concierge level was not included. Since this hotel had several conferences, the common areas were all full of business people. Many areas though out my stay were even blocked off due to conferences taking over the beautiful first floor. The delicious Starbucks coffee on the ground level at Link couldn't even have been enjoyed by the huge river view windows becaus... Read more

The Sheraton Grande is a large conference hotel. I happened to be there while the hotel was sold out and service suffered. My room was comfortable with a great view of the lake. My room had weird angles which caused wasted space and parts of it felt dated. What was disappointing was the service from housekeeping to the front desk to the bar to the restaurant. I realize housekeepers are pressed for time. One day there was a partially finished bottle of wine (that wasn't mine!) left on the... Read more

Our room was beautiful, and we had a fantastic view. Everything was clean, modern, and well decorated. The staff was all very friendly and helpful too! They immediately resolved any problems, as well as were always on top of things like room service and cleaning. I would definitely recommend this to a friend!

I reviewed this hotel a year ago after a work conference. The stay last year and recently were great as far as the hotel itself. However, last year the valet parking process was horrible. This year the process was great. Last year we waited 90 minutes for our car - this year 5 minutes. How did the process change? Some of the customers were given green valet parking slips and others were given yellow. The green slips were for pick up at the main entrance and the yellow for downstairs at the... Read more

Had meetings at the Gleacher Center. Super convenient. The hotel is great for meetings in downtown Chicago in the loop. It is a large convention type hotel. If you're looking for service and style - I am sure there are other alternatives. For convenience and simple business hotel - it works.,

Spend a few days here with a convention. On the river, great location for walking around downtown. Lobby and public spaces were comfortable and seemed to be in good condition. My sleeping room was one that hadn't been redone in some time. Although it had the usual amenities, it was a bit worn, with moldings and furniture showing wear and a chipped shower soap dish in the bathroom. The rate was comparatively a bit high. Id' stay here again but without enthusiasm.

I was able to walk to the Chicago river and watch it turn blue, interact with a lot of gracious and happy Cub fans. My room had a partial view of the lake and navy pier. We did the upgraded king room so had a corner 17th floor room so could see the lake, the river, and downtown. It was large enough to contain the king bed as well as a love seat and a chair so it was super comfortable as we are watching all the lights down below. The housekeeping staff was excellent. The front desk staff even helped me find lost gloves that I had lost a couple days earlier. We'll be back.

Over the years,we have been staying in many hotels in Chicago during the RSNA annual conferences. Our most recent stay in Sheraton was the best of all. We had a room at the club level with a breathtaking view of the city. The room was perfect size the beds were very comfortable.
