We traveled with two teenage girls and had a wonderful time. We love exploring the city and this hotel is the perfect location for us. Michigan Avenue in itself is great and the hotel is in the middle of all the action. The hotel staff were engaging and informative. Everyone we encountered was a delight. The rooms are spacious and the hot breakfast was nice.

The hotel is is located very well but is quite rundown. The lobby and breakfast area is very average and small and the selection of breakfast is poor. However the rooms are good and have a separate sitting area and a microwave and fridge. Strangely the air conditioning was good in sitting area but poor in bedroom. Also the air conditioning was making a lot of noise when the compressor came on.The washing machine and dryer are in bedroom!!The view from our room was bad as it was back side. When ... Read more

A big " thank you" to the wonderful staff at the Comfort Suites-Michigan Avenue! Diana Ortiz & staff members Fatima Rahmo, Myron Jackson & Tian Taylor were all most accomodating, courteous, friendly & helpful during our 6 day stay in Chicago...it was our first visit & they did all they could to make sure our stay was comfortable. When we arrived we requested a change of room & Diana did all she could to meet our needs at no additional cost. Although the staff was very busy they took the time to ... Read more

Our stay was great! Came here with girl friends for the weekend and was not disappointed. The room exceeded all of our expectations-it was spacious, clean, and had a great view! The bed was extremely comfortable too. The location was ideal, only a 10 minute walk from the park. Uber seemed to have issues in that area, but that seems to be their problem not the hotel's. We received excellent customer service; Tian and Diana were very friendly and provided us with quality recommendations of things ... Read more

We really wanted to be able to walk most places, and have easy access to taxis or transit otherwise and this was perfect. It maybe didn't have a lot of character, but the staff was very helpful (Thank you Fatima and Myron!) and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Liked the option of having a bedroom plus the pull-out couch, but the pull-out bed was really horrible. Main bed was great.

Its an old building. My room had a cracked bathroom sink, and since that's the first and last thing I had to look at each day, I thought alot about germs. The A/C system is old and cranky and noisy, and one day we were notified the water would be turned off for 8 hours for a pipe repair, although they cancelled it. My refrigerator didn't close properly. But there's plenty on the plus side: fabulous location, great hard-working staff, and the room included a full kitchen with dishwasher and e... Read more

Upgraded me to a business suite free of charge. It was great. The staff was really kind and accomodating during my stay. The only issue I had was locating the parking garage being from out of town, but it was a great hotel.

We literally could not have asked for more!!!! David Kavaliunas, Michael Dickerson, Daniel Grajdura and the whole staff were exceptional!!!! We'll be back for sure!!!!

The hotel is located in the heart of the Magnificent Mile. Everything is within walking distance. The rooms are large enough to entertain. The hotel staff is friendly, courteous and willing to meet all of your needs. Each suite has a complete kitchen with all amenities. The breakfast was substantial and delicious. We have been here twice and will definitely return.

We were in the city watch some Copa America games. This hotel was a highlight of our trip! We were lucky enough to book the penthouse "presidential" suite (which is pictured with the spiral staircase). It was larger than we imagined with a nice kitchen, balcony and loft. Location can't be beat: right on Michigan Ave. With easy access to busses, trains, and boat tours. Breakfast service is nice but the breakfast area is small. Hint: take the food to your room! Wonderful stay, exceptional service in the heart of the city; welcome gift was a nice surprise; the Walgreens down the street carried all we wanted for our snacks and beverages; special shout outs to Friday evening front desk staff and Tian Taylor on Sunday! Great suites on Michigan Avenue! Great location, and a good place to stay where you can get a suite for the same or less than any other standard room on Michigan Avenue. We got a nice upgrade to a river view for being a platinum member. Nothing fancy for breakfast - they offer the standard Comfort Suite faire. The only drawback is there is no pool - though if you are staying downtown Chicago, there is plenty of stuff to do without needing a pool.

I had some issues with my reservation and literally every hotel within 50 miles of downtown Chicago was booked. David Kavaliunas and Jamila Page were working the front desk at the hotel and they were incredibly helpful. They called all over the city and couldn't find anything. I was ready to take a cab 50 miles outside of Chicago. They got creative, found 1 reservation that hadn't checked in, called him in South America and found out that he wouldn't be checking in until the following day. I end... Read more

Easy walk to restaurants, shopping, Hancock building, Art Institute, parks and Wendella Boat Tour dock. We stayed at the Comfort Suites in Chicago with our two young daughters in June. Our room was spacious but not glamorous by any means. Their sofa bed slanted downward and the tvs in the room were very small, but the free breakfast, washer/dryer (no detergent though, not even at the front desk), free breakfast, and friendly employees made our stay enjoyable. Oh, and the location cannot be beat! Would totally stay again.

We enjoyed our visit to Chicago. Our hotel was clean and spacious. The kitchen suite was perfect for keeping our leftover pizza cold! One of the few places with free breakfast too! Only downside is paying for parking and we had a little trouble finding the lot to park in. I guess that's big city living!

We were in Chicago to to go to some musicals and a play. It's very close to the theaters (10-15 min depending on how fast you walk). It's an older hotel and on the low end of mid-range on class level. There's 26 floors and about 5 rooms per floor. I knew it wouldn't be fancy but it served our needs very well (King Suite....I took the bedroom and my son had the fold out couch) and for expense (preferred to spend the money on better theater tickets). I have never stayed in this hotel, nor have I visited Chicago, but I love the Comfort Suites just the same. My family had planned a week vacation in Chicago in June of this year and we booked the Comfort Suites because they had great reviews and included breakfast. Two days before our trip, my Dad came down with a horrible bacterial infection and he had to go to the ICU. Dealing with the stress of the sudden illness was bad enough - and then we realized we had to cancel our airline tickets an... Read more

Positives: Comfort suites has an almost perfect location for a walking vacation along Michigan avenue. Price is competitive. Hot breakfast is good. Rooms are more roomy than a regular hotel. Negatives: Hotel is small. First floor guest bathrooms ran out of supplies. Maid service forget to replace towels. Garbage was not removed from room. It looks like management could use some improvement.

The room was beautiful. A one-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and living room. Beautiful and clean bathroom and two televisions. Great views of the river and downtown. Great location. But it's difficult getting unloading the vehicle since you have to park around the corner and wait for hotel staff to help and wait for the valet to park your vehicle at $48 per night!

This tall, narrow hotel on Michigan Avenue is perfectly suited for a pedestrian family excursion. My 3 kids and I stayed 3 nights and explored the city on foot and by bus. The front desk staff (Brandon) was helpful and had excellent suggestions. Negatives were the poor wifi, tiny breakfast area that was ill-equipped and under staffed for a full house. The rooms are spacious but showing their age.

Right on Michigan ave so great location, easy to get to everything. Amenities were fine for this price point. But the service was off the charts everything we wanted or needed from picture taking, to a late night snack of chocolate was taken care of and usually by Myron Jackson he was just fabulous. We try to stay at this hotel every time we make it to Chicago. The staff in reception is most helpful. My son and I stayed over spring break and when we arrived the key cards were not working for the rooms (they could not make new ones). The hotel staff had to go with us each and every time we needed in our room. Within a couple of hours they had that fixed and we were good to go for the remainder of our stay. What I love most about this place is that rooms have their own washing machine and kitchen area. Just perfect for me! Shout out as well to Oliver and David who kept me entertained while waiting for my cab to the airport at 4 in the morning. See you again in my future stays in Chicago!

The Comfort Suites apartments are very big. Ours contained 2 queen size very comfortable beds with a choice of pillows. There was also a washer and dryer in the apartment. I'd definitely recommend it for both short and long term.

This hotel is in a great location. We could walk or find public transportation everywhere we wanted to go. The staff was great on check-in. However, they were fairly unresponsive thereafter. We tried for 3 days to get a light bulb for the bedside stand. The sofa was uncomfortable to sit on and impossible to sleep on. The location is convenient, but the valet parking is ridiculous. You can not unload your luggage in front of the hotel so you have to drive around the block to the so called valet parking and unload your suitcases and wheel them back around the block to enter the hotel and for this you pay $47 a day! There are only two elevators for the entire hotel so you have to wait in long lines during breakfast hours and evening hours. The hall ways are super small and smell from the trash shoot nearby. ... We stayed in a 1-bedroom suite with washer/dryer. The things that matter most to us (good service, clean room/facilities, functioning bathroom with hot water at good pressure, good temperature control, comfortable furniture/linens) were all fantastic. Breakfast was good for what it was - not gourmet, but passable. The decor was pretty dated, and the wallpaper was peeling off the walls, seams weren't even close to matched, etc. Not a big deal for us, but could be for some.

The property is located on Michigan avenue within walking distance of grant park, sheed aquarium, field museum, and the art institute. When the front desk employee saw we had several kids, she upgraded us, without us asking, to the presidential suite, which was greatly appreciated. Loved our stay and will return and stay again.
