We traveled with two teenage girls and had a wonderful time. We love exploring the city and this hotel is the perfect location for us. Michigan Avenue in itself is great and the hotel is in the middle of all the action. The hotel staff were engaging and informative. Everyone we encountered was a delight. The rooms are spacious and the hot breakfast was nice.

The hotel is is located very well but is quite rundown. The lobby and breakfast area is very average and small and the selection of breakfast is poor. However the rooms are good and have a separate sitting area and a microwave and fridge. Strangely the air conditioning was good in sitting area but poor in bedroom. Also the air conditioning was making a lot of noise when the compressor came on.The washing machine and dryer are in bedroom!!The view from our room was bad as it was back side. When ... Read more

A big " thank you" to the wonderful staff at the Comfort Suites-Michigan Avenue! Diana Ortiz & staff members Fatima Rahmo, Myron Jackson & Tian Taylor were all most accomodating, courteous, friendly & helpful during our 6 day stay in Chicago...it was our first visit & they did all they could to make sure our stay was comfortable. Our stay was great! Came here with girl friends for the weekend and was not disappointed. The room exceeded all of our expectations-it was spacious, clean, and had a great view! The bed was extremely comfortable too. The location was ideal, only a 10 minute walk from the park. Uber seemed to have issues in that area, but that seems to be their problem not the hotel's. We received excellent customer service; Tian and Diana were very friendly and provided us with quality recommendations of things ... Read more

We really wanted to be able to walk most places, and have easy access to taxis or transit otherwise and this was perfect. It maybe didn't have a lot of character, but the staff was very helpful (Thank you Fatima and Myron!) and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Liked the option of having a bedroom plus the pull-out couch, but the pull-out bed was really horrible. Main bed was great.

Its an old building. My room had a cracked bathroom sink, and since that's the first and last thing I had to look at each day, I thought alot about germs. The A/C system is old and cranky and noisy, and one day we were notified the water would be turned off for 8 hours for a pipe repair, although they cancelled it. My refrigerator didn't close properly. But there's plenty on the plus side: fabulous location, great hard-working staff, and the room included a full kitchen with dishwasher and e... Read more

Great suites on Michigan Avenue! Great location, and a good place to stay where you can get a suite for the same or less than any other standard room on Michigan Avenue. We got a nice upgrade to a river view for being a platinum member. Nothing fancy for breakfast - they offer the standard Comfort Suite faire. The only drawback is there is no pool - though if you are staying downtown Chicago, there is plenty of stuff to do without needing a pool.

We stayed at the Comfort Suites in Chicago with our two young daughters in June. Our room was spacious but not glamorous by any means. Their sofa bed slanted downward and the tvs in the room were very small, but the free breakfast, washer/dryer (no detergent though, not even at the front desk), free breakfast, and friendly employees made our stay enjoyable. This tall, narrow hotel on Michigan Avenue is perfectly suited for a pedestrian family excursion. My 3 kids and I stayed 3 nights and explored the city on foot and by bus. The front desk staff (Brandon) was helpful and had excellent suggestions. Negatives were the poor wifi, tiny breakfast area that was ill-equipped and under staffed for a full house. We stayed in a 1-bedroom suite with washer/dryer. The things that matter most to us (good service, clean room/facilities, functioning bathroom with hot water at good pressure, good temperature control, comfortable furniture/linens) were all fantastic. Breakfast was good for what it was - not gourmet, but passable. We recently spent two nights here on a whirlwind trip to Chicago. The biggest advantages for us were the downtown location combined with a pretty reasonable price. Located within sight of the Michigan Ave Bridge, it is within easy walking distance to museums, shopping, restaurants, and public transportation. The room itself was adequate for our needs with one major exception: the foldout couch bed was incredibly uncomfortable. It was so much so that the person sleeping on it eventually opted for... I use this chain of hotels whenever I can. I knew this location was probably "ok" but when we got to the hotel, it was a perfect location! We are 1/2 block from the river on Michigan Avenue by Wacker. The ambiance of the city is electrifying from here. Walking distance to ANYTHING because if it's a little further than you want to walk, public transport is within blocks in all directions to go all directions. I came from ORD on the Blue Line and 2 others came from MDW on the Orange Line. Shi quic... Read more

The main desk workers were very kind and even allowed us to check in early. Very spacious living area with full sized refrigerator. Set up for room had good acoustics that blocked noise from the living room from filtering in from the bedroom. I gave it 4 stars only because I would have liked a longer couch and there was some weird dripping sound in the walls and the bathroom floor was oddly wet when we entered.

This is a no frills hotel ,but serves the purpose very well. Selling points for me are usually location, price ,comfort and service. This hotel delivered them all.Location was at the top of the list, especially as i travelled with teenagers and used public transportation. A varied selection for breakfast (hot and cold).rkoom was very spacious, pull out couch was as comfortable as any other pull out bed would be,which is, never super comfortable.Buses go by this hotel frequently, almost evry 5 o... I booked this last minute through hotel.com. Check in was quick and pleasant. The room was excellent and very good views of Michigan Avenue . Plenty of amenities in the room for a comfy stay if more than one night . But I was so tired fell asleep as soon as head touched pillow. I had to check out early the next day, but felt refreshed after a good nights sleep.

When I visited America I did 4 cities meaning 4 different hotels and not only was this my favourite on this holiday but one of my favourite ever. It isn't perfect but just something about it I loved. Its about 10 minutes from the nearest metro line which we got from the airport. We arrived early and sadly the room wasn't ready but they offered to text us which was cool. The room, wow, it is an apartment not a room. We had a double Queen room and when you open the door it has a long corridor... Read more

This is one of those ideal hotels that asks nothing of you, but gives you everything you need. The lobby is tiny and dark. The elevators are small as is the elevator lobby on each floor. The rooms are bright and enormous with a kitchen, breakfast bar, separate bedroom area, and large living room with a pullout couch. Nothing was fancy. Everything was exquisitely clean.
