Clean older looking room which need a paint job or some mass renovations convenient to loop Chicago venues and restaurants. It was ok for the value.

There are new elevators, and things are improving, but there is still more work to be done. The water pressure in the shower the low. It was "sort of" a shower that I took each day. Wyndhams guest program is also lighter than other programs. As an owner in the timeshare group, they could do things do differentiate. Comfortable, but not precise.

This was the least expensive hotel I could find in the Chicago Loop area. It's close to Michigan Avenue, walking distance to Millennium Park, and right around the corner from Buddy Guy's Legends blues bar. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. There were a few things that did not meet expectations though. The room was very small, barely enough room for the two double (not queen-sized) beds. The bathroom was tiny, couldn't sit on the toilet without hitting the toilet paper roll. Even thoug... Read more

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was small but adequate. The parking/valet service was actually a discounted arrangement with the parking facility across the street. It all worked fine. My only complaint is that I was promised a $50 spiff if I listened to an offer after I booked. This didn't happen and I plan on contacting them

I don't write many reviews, but I was so disappointed in this hotel I feel compelled to share my experience. While it isn't a terrible hotel, it is certainly the worst I've stayed in. 1. The receptionist was very unfriendly - didn't greet me, barely spoke to me at all, couldn't answer the simple question of "are you charging my card right now or upon check-out?". 2. The WiFi is horribly slow. Seriously. 3. The room was MUSTY - super humid and didn't feel totally clean. The window in the room ca... Read more

Had an amazing time at 2016 NFL Draft. Hotel was right across the street and staff was extremely helpful. Will re-book next visit to Chi-town!!! They have a restaurant and bar on bottom floor without even leaving the hotel which is awesome. As soon as you walk out of the hotel your in the mix with the busy downtown life. I hated the traffic downtown in Chicago so being able to walk everywhere was huge bonus plus they offer on-site parking to its visitors!!!

Finding "budget" lodging in downtown Chicago has become virtually impossible, especially when you add on the various taxes. Since my standard choice had raised their prices exorbitantly, I finally booked Travelodge in the south Loop area after reading Trip Advisor reviews that deemed it acceptable. Right across from Grant Park and easy walking distance to the Art Institute, Shedd Aquarium, Natural History Museum, Soldier Field, this hotel has a great location. It's also only a block away from... Read more

We rented a room with 2 double beds. The room was very large, and set up where the two beds were not directly next to each other. Other than the hotel being dated, the staff was very helpful with providing us with menus for local pizzeria's and additional towels and shampoo. Great value for the money.

You really, really cant beat the location.....but depends on what you are needing the room for. If you just want to sleep after a day or night in the city.....it's great. If you want amenities like microwave, fridge, lobby coffee, on site bar...this isn't it. It was clean but showing its age. The price is the most reasonable we found....but the property is dated, the rooms are small. The staff was wonderful......very accommodating on all requests.

Considering the very reasonable rate we were very pleasantly surprised, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was roomy with an additional kitchen area and there was everything available we could have wished for. On the down side the local loop train was noisily very close to our room and the extra parking fee was a bit heavy. Apart from that we had a good stay and enjoyed Chicago.

The staff were nice and helpful. However, the gentleman working the front door didn't acknowledge us or offer to help and another staff member had to get the desk clerk from the back when no one came up after about 8 minutes. The room was clean and very spacious. Other that the street noise and the two unresponsive or slow to respond staff, the property was nice. Plumbing pipes showing in the room was a perfect metaphor for this place. The room was so small we thought it was perhaps a broom closet that had been converted...badly. It was cheap, and I got what I paid for. Small room with a/c window unit that took up most of the window. The city shut the water off for maintenance one morning from 2am-8am on the same day I had to leave at 4:30am for the airport which was a big pain. Had to request hair dryer and the shower had little water pressure. Again, it was cheap so I couldn't expect too much. Location was good.

To be honest, staying at a hotel on the Miracle Mile in downtown Chicago, I expected more. We arrived and the most luxurious part of the hotel was the lobby. Everything else was downhill from there. Mine had a view on the air tram (really noisy), the carpet was more then used, the bed was too soft and the door, well it was as someone tried to force it. We were very disappointed in our room. We realize the hotel is old, but some updates should be done. Casement windows/room air conditioners are very inefficient. Hopefully your neighbors across the hall or near you won't slam the doors ALL DAY LONG! The front desk needs to tell people staying here that the doors are very heavy, and all you have to do is close the door with your hand; not let it slam by its self -__- Other than that, our room was very clean, staff at the desk was very polite. The Travelodge is right off Michigan south in a good location near the lake and art gallery. It is quiet mostly though trains going outside. Good taxi service and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms were small and needed a bit of an update. The bed was comfortable. OK place to stay but rooms need update.

I recommend that management put a small card by the TV indicating the numbers for the main channels like, CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, CNN, and ESPN. This would be helpful to the guests. I have been a guest at the Travelodge on Harrison about 5-6 times.

For the money, this hotel is a gem! The staff were very friendly and check in and check out were a breeze. Note: they do not have parking, you need to pay extra for a lot across the street, also...the rooms are quite dates, small and not completely updated. however, for the price, you really can't complain. Loved it!

Stayed here for three nights. Was going to start off by saying you get what but this was still expensive. Our room was small. Smallest hotel bathroom I have seen. Check in was easy but there was no personality from the staff. House keeping did a good job. Location was fine, next to two different line stations. Still a good walk away from any decent bars and restaurants. I recommend paying a little extra and getting a better hotel.

When we checked in the lobby was very nice and then we got up to the room and it was a small room which was fine but the shade didn't cover the window fully, the bed was uncomfortable and it was very unsatisfying. Our room was across from the elevator and we were repeatedly woken up by workers screaming down the hallways at each other. I would not recommend to anyone.

I was in town for the 2016 Chicago Marathon and needed to attend mass, so I went to the 5:15PM Saturday vigil mass since Sunday morning would not be an option. I was not expecting anything special at the mass, as when I attended other masses the night before other marathons that I have run, nothing special occurred and nothing at all was mentioned about the races. To my surprise and delight, the priest welcomed all of the marathon runners to Chicago and even invited us to come up on the altar ... Read more

I booked about a week out for a 5 night stay in Chicago. It's in a good location in terms of how close it is to tourist spots. It's in the loop and near downtown. Here's a quick run down of the pros and cons: Pros: Close to tourist sites walking distant to the train Cons: Room was a bit noisy and smelly No breakfast included Other: The tub drain was partially clogged and gnats were coming out of this. The front desk was told about it and it was fixed that day (but the gnats stayed around for ... Read more

The rooms are pretty basic, and the hotel is well-used, but it is clean, quiet and in a great neighborhood. Another reviewer complained about the wi-fi but I found it to be strong and fast--no problems at all. One nice touch is the room had plenty of power outlets, an important consideration in our mobile age. I have stayed in more upscale hotels with less power available for charging. Good value for the money.

The building is old and was probably something else in the past. You can tell by a few quirky things; I like that! The room was large and comfortable. The room had two windows. For some reason the curtain on one of them was way too short, about a foot shy of the base of the window. This left a huge whole for others to see through, especially at night. This Wyndham hotel didn't try to pull off the "Safe Fee" scam, most do and I balk loudly at that.(What next? A Bed Fee, Shower Fee?)

We stayed here for the 2016 Chicago Marathon - it was in a great location for the race, the rooms were clean, the staff was good, and overall we were happy with the hotel. The rooms could use a bit of updating, but they were perfectly serviceable. We travelled to the hotel by bus (from Midway Airport) so I don't know about parking there - but there were a number of public parking lots around it. I stayed here in order to have quick, easy access to the Chicago marathon start/finish area, and it did the trick. Nothing fancy, but like all hotels in the area on marathon weekend, the price was much higher than it would normally be (marathon runners are always gouged on hotel prices on marathon weekends in any major city). But it cost less than most other hotels in the area for this particular event and admirably got the job done. Steps away from Grant Park. Everything was clean and well main... Read more

Really surprised how big the room was for a downtown hotel, nearly twice the size of some. Very old fashioned and no double glazing on the windows so the nearby trains can be noisy if you are a light sleeper. Staff were excellent, ready to help when needed. Handy for red line subway to Wrigley, plenty of fast food places nearby and the in hotel Thai restaurant is good value too.

Great price for Chicago, and like nearly everything in Chicago easy to get to. Attached coffee shop has good breakfast. It is a pleasant walk to museums and such. There is Red Line nearby. I walked to Union Station in about 15 minutes. This place is a good deal. Train noise though.

The hotel staff was wonderful and very accommodating!! The hotel, although obviously very old, was clean and pretty! The room was clean with a great view of the city. The only 2 complaints I had were: 1) it had an old window air conditioner that was noisy and that, added to 2) the sounds of the train through the night, made it difficult for me to fall asleep. In all fairness, I was told it was because I'm a suburbanite as opposed to a city girl. :-)

While I cannot fault Travelodge for not being the nicest hotel in the area, I did expect a quieter sleep. While it is that time of the year where the air is crisp and cool, the hotel uses an old (gas?) heating system. While not a problem in and of itself, the unit continued to give off some not-insubstantial heat even when turned off, and the window a/c unit had dials which were either broken and/or the unit is nearly out of commission as it barely offered any cooling at all.
