This is an awesome location for being able to have easy access to everything. The staff is great and though the rooms are small, they were comfortable and clean. We went to all the main tourist attractions while there - Navy Pier, architecture tour, Cubs game, all the museums, great food...and it was so easy to access all the buses and trains!

Excellent choice if you want to enjoy time touring the city and not your time in the hotel. Very clean rooms and facilities. On Michigan avenue where everything is there. Friendly and helpful staff. Wish they offer coffee in the room rather than on the second floor only.

Confusing with check in on second floor. Elevators are quite cramped with a stroller and two people already in there. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Bar rather small but lively when hotel is full. Corner of Huron and Michigan Ave so Magic Mile is very close. Most of the restaurants are on the other side of Michigan and south so car rides are necessary. Rooms small as is the bathroom, but all are clean. Everything you need but small.

Right off of the Magnificent Mile, bed was very comfy with quality sheets, pillows, etc. Only prob was noise (thin walls and near a hospital, ventilation system in bathroom) and that the mini bar prices were no where to be found ($6.70 for that small FIJI water, ouch!)

Very well-kept, nicely appointed hotel. While my room was small, all I really needed was a nice, comfy bed (which was very nice!) and a bathroom (loved the shower!). It was conveniently located in the downtown area. However, given the price that I was paying (I forget exact amount, but well over $200/night) I found it a bit annoying that it did not include wifi (and more annoyingly, no where did they even tell you how much it would be), plus they wanted to charge a refundable "damage deposit" u... The hotel looked older on the inside than the pictures led us to believe. We had to wait a long time to catch the elevator every time we rode it. At one point, we waited 10 minutes. The bathrooms were too small. The lighting in our room was inadequate.

Needed a room for one night and the rate I paid was so low I couldn't pass it up. Hotel entrance is on Huron. Scaffold is up in front of the building making it difficult to see the door. Checked in at 2:00pm and a room was available. My first room was directly across from the elevator. Went down and asked about the possibility of changing rooms. It wasn't a problem. At 7 am we were moved to a smaller room. After a new complaint, we finally got a room in the same category as we paid, but just 13 stories below. As many have said, the elevators are small and slow. We had a room with a queen bed on the 5th floor (right next to the construction going on). So avoid the 5th floor unless you want to look out on the construction workers (or have them look in on you). The carpet was stained, the shower tiles had mold. The location, however, is prime so considering the fact that we were rarely in the room, the price paid was fair.

Great location, just on the magnificent mile. I thought the rooms were good, only a few complaint would be that the TV was in an odd location compared to the bed, but that's just a personal thing as I like drifting off watching TV, and I watched a film which you had to pay for and they automatically charged it to my english bank card before asking me how I'd like to pay for it. Right near bus stops and shops. The hotel itself was classy, had friendly staff, and the room was comfortable. The room was one bed, and was fairly small, but it was cozy and pleasant. The only reason I can't give five stares was twofold-- one, the cold facet in the bathroom sink wouldn't turn off all the way unless it was twisted quite hard, and if we didn't twist it hard there would be a steady drip-ish stream of water. Also, and this could have just been us not knowing how to work it, but we... Read more

The best thing about this hotel is its location, half way along the magnificent mile. There were draw backs, for instance our luggage took almost half an hour to arrive at our room. The win fi set up is unnecessarily "clunky". The breakfast was pretty average or below. Whilst the room was clean and OK surprised to find a large crack with further smaller cracks in the sink. So overall a bit disappointed.

Old and not very clean. Horribly unorganized. Terribly slow elevators. This place needs a major renovation when it comes to both the hotel AND the management. While a little tired and a somewhat funky design with registration and bar/restaurant on 2nd floor, loved our stay here if only that it's true blue Chicago with pretty decent sized rooms, but bathroom and fabulous location and staff. This hotel is the perfect location. Central and walking distance to all. The staff is great and super helpful. One employee did stand out. Her name is Rio. She is really all about the guests and making their stay awesome. She is so sweet. The rooms are small, but sufficient for what we needed. The lounge and restaurant were good. It was a little bit noisy and we were on one of the higher floors, but overall a good hotel.

Our room was not special . Bathroom had only one sink and shower was of average quality for a five star hotel. Room had one window open to day light. The hotel is on a corner, so make sure you check it out. If you have a car, you should Spot Hero around the hotel as they charge $60 to keep it for the night. You can get half that if you look on that App. And no refrigerator in the room, but they would provide one for a fee. Go with some of the newer hotels . We won't be back.

Hotel is old and, but for the lobby, all other common areas need sprucing up. Elevators needed painting and hallways were not vacuumed. My room was super small and two full beds barely fit. As such it's impossible for two people to maneuver. The room faced a brick wall, which is understandable. However when the view is nil, one would think the interior of the room would be a lot better. Though my corner bedroom was small, it was nicely-appointed and the bed was comfortable. My mini-bar was not stocked, but that was probably a financial blessing! Every staff was member that I encountered or passed along the way was personable, helpful and articulate. The downside was that the elevators are very slow and I was on the 16th Floor. The lobby bar does not open until 4:30 p.m. and closes around midnight. I would have no compunction about staying there again.

We always love to stay in old properties which have been well-renovated without losing their original charm. This is one of them. Beautiful rooms, great restaurant, nice staff. We understand the Warwick chain is owned by a family in Paris who have never sold one of their hotels, and continue to invest each hotel to make them better. This is an example of how well they invest.

If this is your first time going to Chicago you can't go wrong with the Warwick Allerton. It is located right in the heart of the Miracle Mile District of Chicago. Walking distance to some great shopping. The rooms are small, but still very nicely appointed. Don't forget to try one of the hop on hop off buses to get around, you won't be sorry.

I chose to stay at the Warwick due to its central location in downtown Chicago and it was one of the cheaper options. I stayed in one of the Petit Classic rooms and was a bit surprised at how small the room was. However, the room was very clean and well kept. The bathroom is also very nice with updated fixtures. One minor complaint was that the sound insulation was not the greatest. We could hear all the sirens from the street. Also, the elevators were a bit slow. We were on the 12th floor so so... Read more

I've stayed at the Allerton now for both family, social, and business visits in Chicago. I love the personalized service, from the dial-up for reservations to the efficient and reliable bellmen to great lounge service and a comfy, luxurious, old-school-size room. The Allerton's windows display a million dollar view of the Chicago skyline and that city lights feel. I love Chicago, the gem of my home state, and appreciate FEELING at home and having SO MANY staff members work hard so I don't have t... Read more

The staff at the hotel are very accommodating and knowledgeable about the various sites in Chicago. I enjoyed the hotel and staff.

A great place to stay if you want to be in central downtown Chicago right on Michigan and E Huron St. Close to Timothy O'Tools Irish pub and easy walk to Water Tower and along the rest of Michigan Ave. Only issues, no laundry self servic, no free breakfast and wifi is fairly weak. It doesn't seem to cope with the building dynamics. Depending on who you talk to at the service desk, you will either be charged or they may give it to you for free. Servicing from employees was excellent. Easy ac... Read more

This hotel was located in a perfect part of downtown -- right on the Magnificent Mile. The rooms were small but were tastefully decorated and offered the amenities I needed. The staff were some of the friendliest folks I have ever met at a hotel and very helpful, whether providing directions, restaurant suggestions, or entertainment options. Especially helpful were Daniell, the assistant guest manager, and Riontay, a front desk associate. I had a couple of small issues during my stay which w... Read more

Paid over $360/night for a room that was maybe 120 sq ft. Could not physically walk around the double bed, closet didn't fully open (door hit the bed). Asked for a price consideration on checkout and was told 'no. all our rooms are small'. Attached photo is entire room. Also fitness center tiny w 2 treadmills only. I travel 75+ nights per year and have never stayed in a room this small -- especially at this price. Will not return. Much better options in Chicago.

My girlfriend and I went to Chicago for a week to attend an apparel show. Upon arriving at the hotel we were very happy with the location, but, after checking in and going to the room, I immediately went down to see what else was available because of the small size of the room. Fortunately, I was assisted by Olga, who was simply amazing. She upgraded us to a much larger room because of our length of stay and threw in free wifi. We were off to a good start and I was excited to be in America and s... Read more

We stayed at the Warwick in Chicago. We made two reservations. One for my wife and myself and other for friends, one of whom is in a wheelchair. The reservation was made over the phone and the need for a roll-in shower in handicap accessible room was very clear. When our friends arrived, the manager said they didn't have an accessible room. We went to the room and his wheelchair wouldn't fit into the bathroom. We went back to talk with the manager on duty. He was willing to cut the rate i... Read more

Checked again at 4 because we had show tickets and needed to get ready and leave by 5. Were told our room wasn't ready and they could not give us an estimate time. This hotel is near Michigan Ave, so you can enjoy the best part of Chicago easyly, the parking is more than expensive so I suggest use public parking. The Warwick is definitely one of the emblematic hotels in Chicago, it has been modernized and is quite comfortable, the attention is good and the food is equally good, the price is high but reasonably priced if you compare the hotels in the area, Enjoy your stay !

When I called about the fee discrepancy the customer service rep did not give me a solution. With traveling for work and dealing with several hotel chains this issue has never arose. Pros: The hotel shows its historic side and its right in the heart of the magnificent mile, so everything is within walking distance. Cons: NOISY. We stayed on the 8th floor, and maybe that is why. We heard sirens go off every hour or so and that happened all night long. We didnt realize that it was next to a hospital till our last day. The rooms are also quite small, but it was doable for 2 girls.
