We had a really good experience here! My husband and friends stayed here for a work conference so we got a special conference rate, which was awesome. We might have felt differently if we had to pay the typical nightly fee. We came very early after our flight and attempted to check in. We didn't have high hopes because it was about 6 hours before check in time. There wasn't a room available but they held our bags and texted us when a room was ready. We wanted a king bed but a room with 2 double ... Read more

The rooms are very nice the beds are comfortable. Even the rooms are spacious, for the price they should be. It is centrally located and within walking distance of many excellent sights and "places" to visit. The room air conditioning fan was quite weak and took a long time to get the room just cool and it never got to the temperature selected. The security was amazing, We felt like they hired CIA agents to secure the lobby. Rooms smelled and looked very clean and the city view was breath taking. We will be back.

Great location for visiting the must see attractions Service and attitude of all staff was excellent. Obvious that employees love working here Uncharacteristic of Swissotel, we did have an issue with the cleanliness of or initial room. Ricardo, their manager, was on it immediately, apologized profusely and moved us to an upgraded room and gave us a credit for dinner at their excellent Resturant, the Palms. Here for seven days and would highly recommend.

Kind of a sleeper choice in Chicago. Situated near about ten other well known chain hotels, this property is a standalone in the US for this brand. I enjoyed staying there very much. The bedding is wonderful and has a full down mattress, I rarely slept that well in a hotel. Avoid the 41st floor, especially 4108 & 4109 as these are right below the fitness room, which has weights and ropes. I thought a train was passing above me at 6:30am. Since many people won't take the time to read a whole review, let me start with the most important part: This is the only place in Chicago I will stay. Now, let me explain why. I had mentioned casually to my teenage daughter that we might go to Chicago over Fall Break, but she didn't seem impressed so I forgot about it. Imagine my surprise when she comes up to me at 10 p.m. on Thursday night and says, "We're still going to Chicago tomorrow, right?" I probably should have just said no, but I... Read more

I booked this hotel for two nights, as participant of the Chicago Marathon. Location is perfect for the event. After paying close to 900$ for the stay, I have been required to pay an extra for a wifi access, and I was denied a 30 mn (Not 3 hours, 30 mn...) late checkout to take a shower after the race. For those two elements, I do not intend to go back to this hotel, neither for business, nor for pleasure. To my fellows marathoners, from my own experience, I suggest the Radisson Blu next door or... Had a great experience staying here for the Chicago Marathon on 10/9/16. Great Front Desk staff including Ben and another gentleman (who checked me in on Saturday morning). Ended up not getting back to hotel until after check-out time after the race. Ben kindly helped me to get back into my room and allowed the extended checkout. Even had time to shower before I left! I'd stay here in an instant the next time I run the race.

We stay there for 5 days for a convention. Bathroom tub didn't drain, toilet didn't flush, Took a hour for them to come, bathtub still took a long time to drain. Couldn't get hold of housekeeping to change the sheets. When you come in the hotel, couldn't find a bellman. This hotel needs more employees. The view was great. Ordered room service which was okay. Husbands breakfast was great my French toast was burnt. We went out for dinner with others who stayed at the Swissotel and they had the sa... Read more

We came for the marathon and really enjoyed our delux corner room. The building is a triangle not a square. So our corner room on the 20th floor had a spectacular view of the lake, river, and Navy Pier one way, and the river and city skyline the other way. There was no mini bar which was a surprise to me given the price, size and general quality of the room. It's not a big deal, but it was a noted missing piece. The small in-room fridge was good for keeping some marathon fuel in our room. There'... Read more

We drove to Chicago at the end of September to take in a concert at the Oriental Theatre. The Swissotel was one of the better rated hotels in close proximity to the Oriental Theatre. Through TripAdvisor, a very competitive rate was offered by Expedia for a Friday and Saturday night stay. On check in there was the usual soft sell about up-grading the room. We did not up-grade to a corner larger room with promised excellent views, but instead for about a $25 more got a room with a river view. ... Read more

Hotel room bathroom everything was lovely except for the beginning with their rude check in guy. He was obnoxious and the start of our amazing weekend. Had I gone off of his attitude I would've expected the place to be awful but nope it was just him. Clean friendly and quiet when you need to sleep. Great view of the Chicago river or Lake Michigan depending on your room.

I stayed at this hotel because i was in town running the marathon. I picked it based on other reviews and the location. It was walking distance to the start and finish line at the park. I was not disappointed. Huge hotel, very clean and quiet. I did not hear my neighbors at all and that is important to me. I booked a city view king but it was not ready so they upgraded me to a partial river view with 2 queen beds. The bathroom was impressive. Tub and a shower stall. Huge bathroom. Its walking di... This was a delightful stay. Wait staff accommodated dietary needs. Room was clean, fresh, and quiet. View was wonderful from a corner room. Wish I could have spent more time! Bathtub was simple, but shower was nice!

Completely incompetent and not a bit interested in providing a hospitable environment. I've been coming to Chicago for over 40 years for an annual conference and I've never experienced anything like this. There are so many negatives I could say about this place (smelly pillows and more) but I'll just leave it as first impressions matter and will absolutely not return.

Just got back from a wonderful stay at the Swissotel in Chicago. Everyone at the hotel was incredibly nice and attentive to our needs, but Ben at the Front Desk and Jennifer the Meeting Manager went especially out of their way to make sure our stay was a wonderful one. The room had a phenomenal view and Ben and Jennifer checked in with us during our stay to make sure we were comfortable. They both also made sure we hadcorrect directions to restaurants and sights in the city. This will not be... Read more

I am always treated with friendly professionalism at the Swiss. From the moment Eric meets you at curbside you feel welcomed. The service behind the counter is exemplary. Michael Y serves up a smile to go with a great cup of hot coffee in the bar area. I always look forward to my stay at the Swiss!

I enjoyed the views that you get with this hotel, it is beautiful. The hotel itself I found to be wonderful. I flew in from Denmark and had lost my purse while staying here, I was in a panic since it had my passport inside. I do a lot of traveling for work flying back and forth from Denmark to Chicago. It was my first time staying here at this hotel. There was a staff member by the name of Randy who works in the Risk Management and he was very patient with me while trying to help me locate my be... Ask for a corner room. It may be a bit of an upcharge, but you get a terrific view of the river and Lake Michigan. Very comfortable room and very friendly service throughout the hotel. The Palm restaurant was fine. The service in the hotel breakfast restaurant was not very attentive. There was no host or hostess and we had to wait quite a while until a waiter arrived. I also thought the prices were very high on the breakfast menu.

Great hotel that is just enough off the beaten path to be quiet, but has close and easy access to all of the major shopping on Michigan Ave or local food spots. Was the perfect place pre & post Grant Park start/finish of the race. Rooms are spacious and have coffee pots and mini fridges in each. Clean & comfy bedding. Bathrooms are equipped with separate bath and shower. Great views (especially of Navy Pier) from the gym/pool/spa, but even the room had lake view as well. Booked through Hotw... Read more

We stayed for our first trip to Chicago. We were upgraded to an incredible river/lake view. We had great service from everyone at the hotel. Only complaint was the "hi-tech" elevators at busy times because a mess trying to get into rooms as one elevator would only come to the lobby for dozens of people. Ate at restaurant for late night dessert as well as brunch in the morning. Great meals. Would definitely return to this hotel!

The hotel was fantastic. I had a fair share of requests and they never let me down. Very attentive. My last night of 3, I went to an early dinner with my wife so we could rest up before leaving early for Italy. Had a great dinner and went up to pack before we went to bed. This is when my great stay became a horror show, I lost my passport. Luckily for the incredible staff, little did I know, hotel security already had my back.
