Stayed at the hotel in June while I was on a business trip in Chicago. The hotel is very nice: nice lobby with a restaurant and bar, the rooms are big, clean but had a weird smell, the bathroom was gorgeous- big tub, separate shower overall very nice finishes. The location is good: a few restaurants near by, some shopping stores a few blocks away and easy to get a cab.

My wife and I came to Chicago to see Coldplay at soldier field. It has been a number of years since our last visit to Chicago so family and friends recommended this hotel for our first time back. To start off, the valet and front desk help was friendly and helpful. They helped point us in all the directions that we needed and made us feel more and home than just another pair of tourists. Front desk staff was fantastic. Very friendly and accommodating. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Parking garage right next door is very convenient. Only room for improvement was the shower head was a little awkward, but still decent. And the carpeting was just a bit worn. Minor gripes though. Really a great room. Highly recommended. Would stay again.

I booked this hotel through a name your own price on priceline. It did not disappoint. Front desk staff were efficient, and allowed me to check in early. The room was clean, decent sized and the beds were luxurious. The bathroom was quite large, and the water pressure was good. Nice location downtown within walking distance to everything. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. I will be staying again in December myself!!

The hotel was terrific and in a great location. One block off Rush St and 2 off miracle mile. Staff couldn't be nicer. Hotel was very clean and updated. There is a front patio with great couches to sit for cocktails. I had one problem with no hot water to take a shower. The manager sent me an email apologizing which I though was quite thoughtful. I'm convinced the hot water problem was a fluke. I've already decided to stay there again because it was so comfortable.

The lobby and hotel dining is perfect to recieve guests and brief business lunch. The room is small but has great space planning and a wonderful bathroom, great for makeup ladies. I'm a hotel snob and I'm in Chicago all the time. The Sofitel is the best bargain in chicago. Perfectly located off of Michigan Ave. Ideal customer service. Nice, not huge but nice rooms. First let me start of by saying....the hotel is located in the IDEAL spot. A few blocks from Mag Mile and surrounded by shops and restaurants. The front desk agent was PERFECT, always friendly. But the hotel isn't a 4.5 star....it's more like a 3.9 to 4. Sorry it just didn't wow me. The bathroom is gorgeous, the beds are a bit too soft for my liking but the room was very clean.

Loved the hotel up to the standard of Sofitel The only disappointment for us was the bed which they call cloud something supposed to be like sleeping in the clouds although we didn't like it and I had a bad back due to it. The hotel did try to help by placing a wooden board beneath the mattress which did help a little. I love Sofitel and the location but wouldn't return because of the bed

Luxury hotel and business conferencing facility. Recommended for business travellers and for tourists alike. We had few days of conference here with ample space for our customers/ guest speakers and for side business meetings

The Sofitel is going to give you great, effortless service. The location of this hotel makes it perfect to be in the heart of the high end Mag Mile area, while being footsteps away from dozens of great sights and places to eat and drink. If you love a good walk to see some of Chicago's best sights, go Sofitel.

Fabulous location for shopping in Gold Coast neighborhood. Next door is best breakfast place in town, Tempo. Conceirge and Front Desk were friendly, welcoming and over the top helpful with all of our needs.

Since I lived in Chicago for a long time, I know the city and the neighborhood well and can definitely recommend this hotel for it's central location. Plus, this is a very clean, modern and stylish hotel with very nice and helpful personnel. Rooms are not very large, but more than enough (not like cramped NYC hotel rooms).

Prime location and awesome staff welcome you and this Chicagoland hotel. Nice bar downstairs and spacious rooms with a better than the Westin Heavenly bed. Views were poor in room 804, but for business it was perfect.

The Sofitel always offers a bit of European flavor in the midst of the USA. The bar and restaurant are must-dos! The staff make you feel welcome from the moment they say "Bon jour" until they say "au revoir." Good location!

I was here for the Pack Expo that happens every two years and all of the rooms in Chicago are booked .The Sofitel was available so I took the room .I was a wonderful experience to stay in a beautiful hotel .The staff was very peaceful and very helpful the rooms were very quite and security I will be coming back to Chicago in the future and will stay here again. For the cost it was the same as the other hotels . The sitting area was out side which was different. so if you are in Chicago try the... Read more

We travelled for over 30hrs straight from Australia to the Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile via LA and upon arrival were met with a helpful and very professional front desk staff. The rooms were peaceful with no street noise (staying on the 9th floor) and the bathroom was extremely clean with more than enough room for two people to use at the same time. Each time we left and arrived back at the hotel we were greeted by the courteous and helpful door staff. Highly recommend this as a place to s... Read more

The location is their main strength as this Sofitel situated just few steps from the famous Michigan Avenue. The room is superb on the 29th floor with a nice view of Hancock Tower. Unfortunately, for breakfast there are no "buffet" choices compare to other Sofitel we have stayed (Sofitel Marseille, France and Sofitel Vienna). It's weird that in other Sofitel you could order some hard boiled eggs or scramble eggs etc for free of charge! But NOT at Sofitel Chicago. You can only choose one meal /... Read more

Was initially excited when we walked into the lobby but the first room we received smelled like the carpets had just been cleaned and was musty. Moved us to another room, that overlooked a roof at the same level. Rooms a horrible colour of rust and yellow. Bathrooms were nice and large. Television was in front of the only mirror on the wall. Really weird. Based on past great visits to the Girl and the Goat and the Purple Pig for dinners, asked the concierge for a recommendation. Ended up ... Read more

The location of the hotel is great. We can walk to many good restaurants. At check in, the Front Desk lady was warm and accommodating. She walked out from behind to show us the elevator and giving us keys. Our daughter was delighted by a small surprise the hotel was kind enough to oblige my request (her first time in Chicago). They went above and beyond for us. The room is so impeccably clean. Every little corners and cracks was clean. The housekeeper arranged my daughter's stuffed animals on t... Read more

Good Hotel and with a very good location. Rooms are nice beds smooth and staff from reception is very nice. Thanks to Cloé for the nice check in. Bar is very nice and the atmosphere is great. Just minor negatives points : Breakfast is not at Sofitel level (No buffet, and one choice from the menu... Only ONE ! and ONE drink) - Advise, don't take a room with breakfast included it is not worthy. Luggage took 1h to be send in our room at arrival. Bathtub is very small. No VIP lounge on this hote... We recently stayed at the Sofitel Hotel in Chicago. We found a great price through Priceline and it was our first time at the Sofitel. We had a very nice stay and it felt like a European hotel staff was friendly and courteous. The room was clean with nice amenities, although it is not as modern as some newly renovated properties. The bar and lobby are very inviting. The location is great, with Tempo next door (a great breakfast spot) and easy access to Michigan Avenue.

I have been staying at the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower since it opened and wouldn't consider staying at any other hotel...ever. It is clearly a spectacular property and has a perfect location but it is the people that make my decision very easy when I travel to this fantastic city. Sebastien is extremely professional and takes care of the smallest details effortlessly. He helps with my travels to other Sofitel properties in the US and around the world. Marie is always welcoming with a hug and... Read more
