My service experience when I walked in was very welcoming. Even though we arrived a bit early before the allotted check in time. The concierge Russell Zwolinski checked us in via our reservation information. He offered to let us check in early if we wanted the two bed queen room, but we opted to wait for a king room to be available. He advised to store our bags there in the lobby storage. While we mingle around in or out the hotel and as soon as a king room comes avialable he would call my cel... Read more

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Chicago - the location is outstanding and the staff were very helpful. Miracle Mile is a few blocks away, bus/metro spots are close by, and there are great restaurants all around. The hotel does have some food to choose from but really that is not their strength. The bar is actually very nice with a few nice beers on draft. Also, the concierge lounge has a decent breakfast, although it was not open on the weekend (the bar in the lobby has reasonably priced breakf... Read more

This is an exceptional hotel and the staff are great but their parking rates are brutal! They say they have no control over it as it is outsourced and I could have driven around to find a better rate but when in a big city I like the convienance of parking on sight. Not only was it $69 a night to park but they informed me that I shouldn't be late taking my car back out as I Would be charged more, no leeway at all, brutal!

I stayed at Hotel Chicago Downtown this with a girl friend to celebrate my birthday. I was very happy with the room and the hotel establishment. The room was clean and the decor was pleasing. All of the staff were pleasant and very helpful with any questions we and. The hotel is within walking distance to entertainment, restaurants, food markets, pharmacies, movie theaters, and much more.

Great location in a nice hotel with friendly staff. I have zero issues with this hotel and would stay again. Free access to the house of blues was a nice bonus. I would probably give this hotel a 4.5 star if I was able to give half stars.

Very nice hotel in the heart of Chicago. This was our first visit to Chicago. Located in the River North neighborhood , close two tons of restaurants and bars. The bed was comfy and the shower was terrific. We had some difficulty at check-in. We requested a king room and had to wait an hour which was no problem. When we returned we were given our room key and we're surprised to find that our room was not a king. They were going to have us wait another hour for a king, but after explaining tha... Read more

Loved this hotel! They upgraded us, as we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary... that was much appreciated. Staff was courteous, rooms were a nice size, well-stocked mini-bar, and lovely and thoughtful card to congratulate us. Hotel is well-situated, went to House of Blues (right across) and Andy's Jazz Club (2 blocks down), awesome restaurants nearby, will come back next time! Thanks!

This proved to be a great location to explore Chicago. Check in quick, room clean and serviced daily. Helpful at the front desk. Kept our luggage after check out. Only complaint rooms are not bright. Wanted more light.

I was there for a trade show and the hotel was perfect. Not too big. Blocks to many popular restaurants. You must try RPM Italia. The entire staff was wonderful. From checkin, to hospitalits, to cab man, the coffee from room service in 20 minutes. I recommend this hotel for any stay in Chicago. I was in room 1506 which I highly recommend. Enjoy!

Rooms are great. Water pressure is the best ever. Shower could use a handle. Tubs are slippery . Very comfortable bed. Within walking distance to everywhere. Parking price is crazy. House of Blues is literally across the drive way. Great view of river, great spots where to go grab a bite to eat. I will stat here again if we ever go back to Chicago.

This was a very romantic location for a lovely river walk steps away from the hotel, and easy access to the best sites of Chicago. The hotel itself was modern and fun. We loved the lobby area. Also, two steps out of the front door and you are at The House of Blues. The constant allure of listening to live music is a bonus! I highly recommend this beautiful boutique hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Chicago Downtown over my birthday weekend. It's a short walk to the El and right in the middle of everything. We took the train down from Milwaukee and only used a cab to get to/from the terminal. The bed was very comfortable and the d├ęcor was pleasing. Highly recommended! We'll stay there again! Only downside was lack of free wifi.

Nice hotel, great location with literally dozens of wonderful restaurants nearby. A bit pricy. There is no restaurant although they have coffee ($4.00 per cup) and breakfast in the morning. Internet is $18.95 per day. The upgraded room with a view is not worth it; we had a view of the roof of the nightclub across the street.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Chicago for the July 4th holiday weekend beginning Friday the 1st through Tuesday the 5th. The hotel has an ideal location right in proximity to all the wonderful landmarks and attractions Chicago has to offer. We walked to almost everything and even had a wonderful view of the fireworks directly in front of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel as it has a great lounge open to Marriott Reward Members for evening appetizers and breakfast each morning. The gym ... Read more

The room is comfortable, but a little tired (crown molding was popping out above our bed. As Gold member, I was hoping for a better room than a room with parking structure view, but we did get very early checkin. 2 beds room are full size beds, so beware if you are big people. Exellent shower pressure, but cleanliness has room for improvement as there were traces of mildew in the grouts. Newly refurbished and rebranded hotel next to house of blues - great location steps from River North. Rooms are large and well refurbished. Bathrooms include bathrobes. Hiuge flatscreen TV. Great peaceful sleep despite being on lower floor and back of hotel - not great views. Good housekeeping. Bar was OK for a quick drink before heading out. Only negative was reception staff weren't the friendliest ...... Pretty frosty !

We stayed for 3 nights and we were not disappointed at all. The place was spotless, staff were very friendly (they even knew how to crack a joke!) and helpful and the location was perfect - we didn't need to use public transport once. Our room was extremely comfortable and had a lovely view outside. We didn't hear any noise from the hallway or much from outside which was great! Was expecting a high level of service at this hotel - ie: read my preferences in my profile. I was given a room right across from the LOUD elevators, no extra towels, and no working ventilation in the bathroom - there is a vent and there should be a working fan on the roof, but the tissue test proved it inoperable. A few room details that need attention - dated bathrooms, with uneven, broken towel racks, an honor bar, which is fine, but no refrigerator, chipped paint and furniture, inoperable ... Read more

Booked a three night stay at this hotel through Booking.com for a Deluxe King Room with City View for the July 4th Weekend. After booking online, we called the hotel directly to confirm they had our reservation. They confirmed. Upon arrival on July 1, we were put in a tiny sliver of a room with a standard (full) bed and a closet of a bathroom with a tiny sink in the middle of the main room. We went back downstairs to the front desk to inform them they had made a mistake. They very nonchalantly ... Read more

The hotel is right in the middle of everything happening in Chicago. It is an older hotel that has been attentively and expensively kept up. BIG rooms, luxury towels, huge bathroom counters, safes and a very easy breakfast bar in the lobby. Biggest bonus for me was that I left my computer in the safe - UG! - with the door open - and the security staff, William Johnson located it immediately, and is sending it back to me by FedEx. What service - above and beyond!!

This was a great hotel to stay at in Chicago. 1) The location was perfect, within walking distance to almost everything 2) The rooms was large, clean and comfortable 3) The Staff is friendly, helpful and professional 4) Russell, the concierge, made our stay that more perfect. This formerly was called Jacks, but it looks new inside with modern furnishings. The beds and pillows were excellent and the bathroom spacious. The staff was pleasant and helpful. It is a pleasant walk to the theater district. We found it via Priceline and our rate was good for such a four-star hotel.

The room was small and did not have good lighting nor many places to put things. But was clean and modern. Perfect location to walk 1 block to L and subways or to many restaurants, Walgreens, and even to boat tours. Staff was very helpful but although we arrived at 8am to check in and stow our bags, our room wasn't ready when we came back at 4:30pm. Manager appologized and bought us a drink.

I stayed at room 722. The room was dated. The remote control nowhere to be found. One of the sliding doors of the closet was broken. Bed was comfortable. Staff was better than most marriotts. Lounge was on first floor with an average breakfast. I stayed for 2 nights after a cross-country 20 day trip across the US. This was the most expensive location (more than DC). Location is awesome. Stayed here for Lollapalooza and it was a fantastic hotel, location is great (a bit of a walk to Grant Park, but that makes it even better because you get to know the city a lot) near CTA stations a couple of blocks away and a very helpful staff. Definitely would come back.

I was disappointed that paying $500 a night didn't warrant a queen bed 'upgrade'. I booked the room in March, so I incorrectly assumed first come, first serve. Not so with this hotel. The follow up email I received from the hotel manager was laughable. It might as well have been titled 'sorry, not sorry AND we don't really care that you are not happy. Kiss off.' I'm done with Marriott there are too many other options out there.

Our party of six booked through an off site vendor and we had requested 3 rooms with two beds. Two roll away beds were provided and we were told the issue would be rectified by Thursday July 28th.
