We spent one night here made the reservation through hotwire, the rate I got was very good, which was nice since the valet charges $60.00 to park your car. I expect it to be high in the city but thought this was a little excessive. The lobby is nice and check on was easy, no big complaint except the rooms where so small my husband and I kept bumping into each other as we tried to move around the room. I felt like I was in a closet. If he was sitting at the desk I had to climb on the bed to get a... Read more

Yes the rooms are small... but who spends most of their time in the hotel room anyway? It was very clean, bathroom is nice, shower was amazing...not sure what the big deal is about the sink. It worked for me and my husband( who is a bigger man). You can't beat the location... we walked to everything! Water, food, Vertigo sky lounge. The whole weekend we never once drove our car or took a cab. The front desk was polite, housekeeping cleaned our room wonderfully, comfortable beds and I never heard... Read more

As Stash members we received a quiet room as requested on an upper floor away from the elevators. There was a musty odor to our tiny room that was otherwise clean and bright white when we entered. Toiletries are by L'Octane. Electrical outlets are adequate. Coffee and tea are served in the lobby in the morning. I was a little put off when a transient person walked in, used the lobby restroom, came out and made inquiries about jobs then proceeded to hang out talking loudly on a personal phone ca... Read more

This is the most expensive room I have stayed in Chicago, and also worst room. My friend and I were in town for a night to celebrate her graduating. I wanted to take her someplace nice in town since she has never spent a night downtown. The room was tiny. As in, I was tripping over everything because there was no place to put anything, running into the tv that was just placed randomly on the wall. Lacks any kind of decor. This was dissappinting since I told my friend about all the other great & ... Read more

The Felix Hotel fits the needs of a cosmopolitan traveler on a budget like a glove. With its environmental ethos and artistic design, you feel like you're supporting something worthy, rather than a giant soul-less chain. And by booking on a third-party website, the value for the money was incredible. The rooms are small, but amply appointed with comfortable beds, black out curtains, a safe and writing desk. The modern decor is totally of the moment, in neutrals and grays, with dark wood ac... Read more

Unfortunately, upon check in I found out that the hotel's valet parking is $60.00 per night with no self parking option. I am a business traveler with a corporate budget and when booking online I did not see anything on the website about the cost of parking. I am stuck here for 7 nights with a room that is smaller than my college dorm room. Also, when you try to reach someone for house keeping or room service you get voice mail. Was here for four nights and my first impression upon walking into the room was 'oh god I'm here for four nights' The rooms are tiny, there are very few power points and in serious need of refurbishment. The gym is also incredibly limited so don't rely upon that as a means of working out (2 cross trainers, 3 runners and some free weights. No machines, stretch areas, bars etc) I had coffee sent to the room which was grossly overpriced and insipid: why was there not a coffee machine in the roo... Read more

I'm a fan of boutique hotels, and Hotel Felix delivers. Great amenities, fun little cocktail bar with a great beer selection. Rooms were clean and just the right size. Location is away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown core, but close enough for a calm walk to anywhere you want to go. Very close to some great Jazz bars. Hotel staff overly service minded. Thanks Hotel Felix!

Hotel Felix did not disappoint! The only reason I give it 5 stars instead of 6 is because our stay was just an overnight and we couldn't experience more of the place. The hotel's location is excellent, in Streeterville, right in the midst of shopping, dining, bars, and transportation. Easy access to Mag Mile and beach. The room we got was relatively small (the hotel is in a renovated old building, so makes sense), but cozy, quiet, and cool. Bed was very comfortable, and bathroom, including L'Oc... Read more

Wonderful location, but unfortunately we didn't get best of this hotel. I requested for two single beds at least 2 months in advance but during checkin it was denied and we were provided only one queen size bed. I booked the hotel for 4 night but then cancelled my stay for other three nights and made an emergency booking at another hotel. Wifi is very weak. So tiny rooms that you cant fit a chair in front of working table. Wont be recommended for business travellers.

Nice central hotel but without the noise from traffic, a lot of restaurant‚??s close by and a supermarket few hundred meter away to get breakfast from and other stuff. Not far away from ‚??hop on and of busses‚??. Clean hotel with helpful staff and you can have your luggage storage after check-out. As there is no breakfast restaurant in the hotel you‚??re missing a kettle in the room for coffee /tee in the morning during the day when you‚??re taking a break.

We stayed the 4th of July weekend. The price of the room was very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. $60 a night to have them park our car was a little pricey but it's Chicago so you just pay it. All of the staff we came in contact with were super friendly from the front desk to house keeping. Our king room was small but the bed was very comfortable and it was quiet. We used the office center to print tickets to a concert and had no problems. It was well stocked with paper and pens... Read more

The clean tile step in shower, L'occitane toiletries and fluffy bed/pillows made the experience very pleasant. We stayed 2nights at this hotel because of a training my husband was attending at the hotel. They also have a spa and fitness center. Don't know if we'll get a chance to use it. Unfortunately no breakfast included but there are tons of options within walking distance. Had to trade out one of two room cards TWICE before it worked.

I had a terribly small room. There was room for the queen size bed. They had a small 18"x30" "desk" with a task chair that obviously didn't fit under it - this was located on the left side of the bed - leaving barely enough room to walk by it. There was a small "closet that was about 10" deep - you had to hang ur clothes so they faced out. There was no dresser. The bathroom reminded me of a high school gym shower. On a recent trip to Chicago, we stayed downtown at Hotel Felix. The hotel was very clean, which was a big plus in my book. However, the rooms and bathrooms are a bit small. For us, this wasn't a big problem and I knew coming in that the rooms would be little from some of the other reviews. I'm not quite sure if I would rate this hotel as "luxury" but it's clean place to say for a reasonable price in Chicago.

Pros: In the nicest area of Chicago (north of downtown, near Gold Coast, Oak Street Beach, etc). Nice and contemporary room. Very decent rates. Good chance at a nice view. And honestly, didn't find the room small, but there was just of us. Cons: Not many. No microwave/fridge, though I do understand this place is meant to be eco friendly. Definitely some street noise, but that didn't bother me.

The location can't be beat -- you are close to everything in River North, a few blocks from the El, a block from Whole Foods, etc. The first room we got was super tiny and dark, and there were two problems: the room wasn't particularly clean and (more importantly) the desk area had been b... There is a small bar in the lobby and french restaurant/cafe located right next door. We booked this room off of Hotel Tonight for Lollapalooza this past year. The hotel itself is very cute and clean my only complaint is that the rooms are abnormally small. The room we booked came with one queen bed and that's about all there was room for. If you are just going to be using the hotel to shower/sleep it will be fine but if you want space to relax/work I think it would be too small. The location is great, right in river north and walking distance to many bars/restaurants.
