The room was very nice. The bathroom was large and the shower was unique with a view outside. The Dana Hotel is conveniently located to shopping, Eataly, Nordstrom's and Bloomingdales Home store, as well as many restaurants. Unfortunately, the service in the bar and restaurant were very poor. We were charged for an appetizer we did not receive. The bartender was also the server for breakfast.

The Dana Hotel is in a great location. The staff are very personable and helpful and they took really great care of us. Our room was very nice but not practical for our length of stay. It was missing storage so that we weren't able to unpack. This resulted in us having stuff out everywhere making it very cluttered.

Great location. The staff was wonderful. The rooftop bar was closed for 4 hours for a private party which was a little irritating as we were looking forward to having a cocktail after our long drive and before heading out for dinner.

Second visit to the Dana. A chic hotel, with friendly attentive service. Rooms all slightly different, but very cool and trendy. Lovely roof bar for drinks at sundown and at night, with heaters in case it is cold or windy. Breakfast very good. A short walk to the magnificent mile and some great restaurants

Good location. Air conditioning is incredibly noisy (wake you up noisy) when it cycles on and off. Room is too stuffy without it on. Room is also very dark, good for sleeping...not so much for finding your way around, even when all the lights are on there is not enough light to see yourself in the full length mirror. Rain showers are nice, but not very practical, the handheld shower pressure is insanely strong making it not practical either. In good news, the room service food was quite good and... Read more

I had a wonderful stay at the Dana! The service was impeccable, from the doormen to the front desk to the staff in the restaurant. Everyone was so kind and helpful and very friendly. I had a lovely corner room with two walls of windows with great city views. I liked that there were two kinds of shades on the windows, opaque ones for privacy during the day that let in the light and blackout shades for night. The decor was modern and sleek and the room had a nice speaker system for my phone. They ... Read more

Good hotel although room sizes can vary. I have stayed twice and the room size for the same standard can vary considerable. Lots of good stuff in the room like an ipod speaker and Ipad. Could not get the Ipad to work but had my own. Lots of nice things in the minibar to nibble on and drink. Staff really very friendly. I booked this hotel on recommendation from a friend. I was disappointed with my overall experience at this hotel. Another tripadvisor reviewer compared the Cozy King room to a cave & I absolutely agree! It is dark, small, & the ceiling reminds me of pavement. Not what I was anticipating for a luxury hotel. The worst feature is that there is a clear glass wall between the bathroom & bedroom. The shower/toilet are completely visible to anyone in the bedroom unless a curtain is closed. This c... Read more

I chose this hotel based on its location to the Mart, and was very impressed. The property is modern, clean, and artistically decorated. The staff are some of the most helpful I've experienced from the front desk to the wonderful doormen (thank you Louie for you assistance!) The rooms were well equipped, stocked with plenty of Keurig coffees, an iPad for use, and a large rain shower. I will stay here again, and recommend it highly.

This was my first booking here, having been referred to it by a family member. Their referral was spot-on! The room was outstanding, the fridge was well-stocked, the view was stunning. Staff was friendly, fast, and efficient. The hotel's entrance-layout gives a nice feeling of seclusion even though the location is central, in one of Chicago's liveliest and most dense of neighborhoods. Also, there's nothing generic-feeling about the place. All in all, a 100% positive experience.

What a beautiful hotel! The entrance of the hotel might throw you off little because it just looks like a entrance to a club, which it also is. The hotel was great overall. Great service, great location, clean, and they squeeze a lot into those little rooms. The bed was really comfortable. I only give this a 4 instead of 5 because the rooms are small (although adequate if just spending a short time there) and the walls seem a little thin. We could hear other guests quite frequently even though they didn't seem to be overly loud. It was a minor thing though, I'd certainly recommend to anyone traveling through there. I think you get... Room and service was awesome! We were on the 19th floor and it was VERY loud every evening due to the night club on the 26th floor. I did not sleep well at all which was a bummer because the beds were very comfortable! We also had terrible food delivered from room service.

The facilities and service were great. Very impressed with the hospitality of the door men and the front desk staff. My guests loved the I-pod speakers in each room as well as the comfortable beds. Location is perfect for getting around the loop as well.

Very cool contemporary hotel in a prime location. The rooms are updated and clean. The service was top notch. Also has a fantastic roof top lounge. Our only complaint, which isn't in any way the hotel's fault, is the very frequent sirens of ambulances that went by ALL hours of the day. It did make it very noisy and difficult to get a great nights rest at times. Otherwise, it was a fantastic stay and we will recommend to others for sure!

The rooms at the Dana hotel were beautiful and romantic. The rain style shower looked into the bedroom. The mattress was comfortable. I didn't try the spa or gym amenities so I can't comment on them. But if there anything like the rooms I'm sure they're great. The hotel restaurant is street level and delicious, leaps and bounds above your average hotel. There's a rooftop bar/lounge, that's more of a club, its very nice and very chic, but if you're not looking for loud music stay in the out... Read more

We stayed here as a couple for 4 nights. The hotel felt fresh and modern. Loved the location and the windows in the hotel room. The room was good. The hotel also has a nice Roof top bar with a great view, even though the open hours of it could be better. We did not try any food at the hotel.

Husband and I were on the road for 12 hours before finally arriving in Chicago and we found that the place we made our accommodation arrangements was gross and scary - we found the front door to the place wide open, trash on the ground, un-vacuumed bedroom, dishes in the sink, no fitted sheet to at least cover the severely stained mattress, and a clump of hair under the blanket. We are not divas who need everything to be super nice, but we couldn't stay at that place for another minute. We wer... Read more

This is such a cool boutique hotel and an amazing value. The restaurant is very good, its an Asian Steakhouse. It has a cool bar scene between the entrance and the restaurant. The rooms are nice and clean. One time I was upgraded to a suite and the floor to ceiling window views were outstanding. They also have valet

I enjoy everything about this hotel! The rooms are stylish and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Every staff member I encountered went out of their way to be helpful. I also enjoyed lunch at the hotel restaurant. The hotel is close to shopping, dining, theaters, and the river and lakeshore. I will definitely return to the dana hotel and spa.

We don't usually stay at this nice of a hotel but it was our anniversary so we splurged! We had a corner king with amazing views. We loved all the modern amenities and visited the spa which was nice though a little on the simple side for the price. Bell hop, front desk and concierge are unbeatable at making us feel welcome!

This review is late - but I felt compelled to write one since I just recently started using TripAdvisor. This hotel is awesome! Trendy, modern, and classy. My husband and I had a corner room, which gave an amazing view of the city. We visited the lounge on top of the building one night, which seemed to be a local hot spot, as we were able to skip the long line because we were staying there. Hotel was fine but nothing special. I booked the Nirvana suite, plus an additional 4 rooms. Service was not great. They checked us out after one night (even though our reservations were for 2 nights) and just deactivated our keys. This happened 3 times so we were never able to access our rooms without going downstairs to speak to the front desk. Great Hotel, Professional staff, Great location. Good Value. Clean and very comfortable. Smaller rooms but very comfortable. The only thing I didn't like is a see through glass shower and bathroom with the curtain on the outside that could be seen from the Bed area. I stayed at this hotel for a week for work. If I were about 5 years younger, not pregnant, and liked to drink an obscene amount of wine, this would totally be the hotel for me. It's geared toward people who like to go out an party. For a business employee, I wasn't really feeling the scene. The amenities are nice, the bed is comfortable, and they give you roughly a million pillows (just estimating, here) so that's definitely a plus. The hotel is in a great location so we could walk everywhere for dinner, shopping, sightseeing. Rooms are comfortable but the trendy hotel attracts a younger clientele due to the nightclub so hallways can be very noisy at night. Air conditioner also noisy. Lobby is small and not much happening in the bar area or restaurant.

Your hotel had mixed reviews on trip advisor, particularly related to the staff. However, our experience was that the staff was exceptionally good, personable and helpful. Our room, a pleasant surprise upgrade to a corner king, was outstanding, clean, sleek modern decor, with windows all around and an amazing view. High tech amenities, and all worked, except the Keurig, but when I called, someone was there in less than 5 minutes to fix it.

The shower was exposed in-between the bedroom and rest of the bathroom. I did not prefer the cement ceilings, but it's the look of the hotel. The Dana is located in pretty much the middle of Chicago and a lot of the big towers are reachable by foot or taxi. The Rooms are very modern and spacious.
