We booked a room for 2 nights in December 2015 via getaroom.com. We were charged by getaroom.com and then later saw on our credit card statement that the hotel had billed us as well. I immediately contacted the hotel via email, with no response ... likely hoping that we would just drop the issue. For $290, we're not dropping the issue. We've had our credit card company raise the issue directly with the hotel. Don't like being ignored or ripped off.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel for an extended stay. The room was spacious and super clean with a comfy bed. The pool & hot tub were amazing and the perfect way to end a long day. The breakfast included something for everyone and I personally loved the hard boiled eggs and fresh fruit. The staff were super friendly and more than willing to help when needed. The only less than positive thing I have to say about our stay there had nothing to do with the hotel. The weekends are filled ... Read more

We had a great stay and visit while spending the day at Schweitzer Ski Resort. The location was perfect with only a short 30 minute drive to Schweitzer. Excellent rooms that were clean and comfortable, amenities such as pool & jacuzzi are great for relaxing and a favorite with the kids. Continental style breakfast is available with several food options. Would certainly recommend the Holiday Inn Express at Ponderay.

We stayed here a 2nd night because the hotel was so nice. It was very clean and the staff was very helpful with our needs, including the purchase of lift tickets. And the tickets were at a discount price! The hotel was close by the ski resort, so we really enjoyed the breakfast in the mornings. We highly recommend this hotel.

Clean, new, nice. Great breakfast, nice room. Seems a bit difficult for them to get your room and reservation straight. But they finally got it. They do need to actually sit in the chairs they put in the rooms. Definitely not great on comfort. GET US A DECENT RECLINER WILL YA? We are all tired after driving all day. Another chain has decent leather recliners in the rooms. Simply awesome. Might be an idea. All other facets of the motel were great. Super good if your travelling with a ... Read more

The genuinely friendly service rockets this Holiday Inn Express to five (5) stars. Everyone we encountered offered a warm greeting or goodbye, and seemed genuinely interested in us, our day, and their willingness to help or answer our questions. Common areas and our room were spotless. Our room, a double queen on an upper floor, had views of the mountain and wooded farmland and creek out back. It was very quiet and peaceful. The room felt spacious and was well laid out, including the bathroom... Read more

Modern, clean, comfortable, the beds are well above average! Always a great staff, and cookies in the lobby after 7 pm.....the breakfast is by far the best of any chain hotel I have ever stayed at! Will not stay anywhere else when a Holiday Express is available

Very clean and the staff was very accommodating since the weekend was all booked up in Coeur D Alene and Spokane due to big events. We wanted to staying a second night but, we were rained out. Since they were no available rooms in Spokane we flew back to Minnesota since we are stand by pass flyers. The front desk worked very hard to help us out and, I will be making a return trip to this Hotel.

Booked a three night stay and only stayed 1 night. The carpet is getting pretty ratty and we had to put the sheets for the pull out couch on the floor for our 1 year old to be able to crawl around. The room was pretty muggy and the windows are bolted shut. The only option we had was to turn on the AC to get rid of the humidity but the temp wasn't the problem, the humidity was. There is also no fan in the bathroom so the humidity from the shower goes right into the room. We found three beetle... Read more

It's a nice property (right next to the nice restaurant Sweet Lous), with a pretty view out the back, but there were a few technical glitches. Too many. The TV stations in room 231 sometimes were sound-only, sometimes not at all. Very fickle. They came up to fix it and they rebooted it (and showed us how to reboot it) but it still never fully worked. I wish the heating and air had a fan we could set to run all the time to cover up noise. The shower temperature was weird--the first time I have ... Read more

Our soccer team booked a group of rooms here for tournaments taking place locally. The hotel is nicely appointed but not downtown. Room rates for our group put us at a great rate at a hotel that was above average. Breakfast included. Nice exercise room and indoor pool. Nice common living room also. All things you need for a family stay. Front desk coverage was good. Help is fun and friendly!

This place was a God's send. When my husband & I arrived, I was feeling very ill. The next day we found an urgent care & I was diagnosed with 2 ear infections & a cold. I just wanted to sleep! We ended up staying at Sandpoint for 4 nights. The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable, the staff was considerate and there was enough to do in the area that my husband wasn't stuck in the room with me, watching me sleep.

Usually there is very little good to say about corporate hotels but holiday inn has really gotten this one right. It fits into the landscape blending with the nature of its surroundings yet not trying to hide the fact that it is a part of a chain hotel. The rooms are exceptionally comfortable and well organized. The desk personnel are friendly and helpful. Though the wifi can be unreliable during peak hours it is easily accessible. The only downside to this hotel is the availability of hot ... Read more

This appears to be a "middle aged" HIE: not new, but very well maintained, furniture in good condition, granite composite tub surround in bath, warm color palette that works well in its Northern Idaho setting. Breakfast buffet was standard, with the addition of fresh strawberries to fruit choices, a delicious touch. Rooms on the west side of the building have a peaceful view of mountains and valley below, complete with grazing horses and a stream running through it. Very restful. We stayed at si... Read more

You get what you pay for! You might pay a little bit more but it's well worth it. Everything about this place is great. Room, breakfast, cleanliness, staff. Right next to it is Lou's restaurant, which I will review after this. It's a little past Sandpoint which was our destination but only a short drive.

I usually find the Holiday Inn Express brand reliable but it can be difficult to write anything interesting about them. Sandpoint, however, has better views from its windows than nearly any other chain hotel I've stayed at. I don't think you would regret an overnight stop here.

Pricey alternative, but seems like a newer property. Clean and modern with a friendly staff. Breakfast was typical for this chain - nothing spectacular. Lou's is a restaurant in the parking lot and worth a visit.

This Holiday Inn Express is the nicest of the Express hotels we have stayed. We had a great meadow and mountain view from our window and the service was as good as we have encountered in more upscale properties. Comfortable beds and bathroom as well as nice furnishings made for an enjoyable stay. Would stay again when in the area.

The room at the Holiday Inn was nice and clean. We had a nice view out the back of the mountains. The room size was very comfortable with a King bed, couch and coffee table, and a desk and chair. There is an extra sink by the fridge and microwave. They have free internet but it is slow. The only problem we had with the room was the TV remote did not work. They had a nice buffet breakfast with 2 types of eggs and bacon or sausage plus dry cereals, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and waffles. The ... Read more

We pulled in late from a looooong day of motorcycling from Kalispell-Missoula-Moscow. It was a much needed respite from the day. Front desk staff was pleasant and accommodating as she allowed us to leave our bikes under the covered entrance. Rooms were very clean. The complimentary breakfast was on par with other hotels in this class. Very nicely presented and kept up. Because we came in late there were no restaurants in walking distance that were open. I stayed in a first floor room on the back side of the hotel. There is a balcony that runs the length of the back, so occasionally people walked in front of my window. Just be aware that if you're a nudist in your room and want the blinds wide open, you might want a second floor room! The view out the back is lovely. Lots of trees, some pasture - I wouldn't be surprised to see an elk or deer out there in the morning. The room I stayed in was an "Accessible" room, meaning a doorbell and bars in... Read more

This hotel had a nice, quiet location. Close to Walmart. Easy access to Sandpoint or out to Hwy 200. We stayed in a 2 Queen room with an extra pullout sofa. There were 2 TVs, fridge, micro, coffee maker and extra bar sink. This was a comfortably sized room for 3 people. The usual hotel breakfast was provided - very attentive staff taking care of breakfast needs. Lovely deck area along the back of the property. We have stayed in this hotel several times as our daughter lives in Sandpoint, It is a quality Holiday Inn Express. This latest time, in August, 2016, however, was terrible. We were assigned room 131, which is wheelchair accessible. We neither needed nor requested this. Gotta say I'm a bit disappointed as we are fairly frequent guests to HIE's. The bldg & room are nice and clean. If you are going N on 95 you have to make U turn in order to get into the hotel - at night finding the correct driveway might be a challenge. The first driveway is to private property/gravel road. If you are a HI rewards member, don't expect anything extra. And if you want quiet get an odd #room so you are not facing the hwy (noise)

The Hotel was a welcome relief after end of a long travel day. The location along Hwy 95 was convenient. The staff was great, friendly and knowledgeable. The room was comfortable. We stayed their on our way to Canada. We intended to return another route but the stay here was so good we repeated the stay. The dining hall was clean and the b'fast went well. There is limited seating considering the size of the hotel.

We stayed in Ponderey, Idaho in September 2016. Great hotel with super staff and a clean, well managed hotel. Breakfast was very complete and juice and coffee were available 24/7. Denise, at the front desk, was professional, knowledgeable, and very personable. A real jewel!!

Hotel was clean and rather new, and modern. Beds comfortable, and breakfast pretty standard. Hotel shares a parking lot with a very popular family/sports restaurant and on our stay it was hard to find a parking spot. There where 3 truck/trailers parked in the parking lot, along with a packed restaurant, it meant finding a spot for guest was difficult. They offered discounted tickets (you had to purchase online) for Silverwood Theme Park. When going online to do so - it was impossible to do so f... Read more

I booked this room online as Sandpoint was an ideal spot to break our journey and HIE properties are usually good. We had a room at the back of the hotel away from the busy highway. Unfortunately it was closer to the railroad tracks! It seemed as though the trains went passed every hour with whistles blowing and track noise. Perhaps I exaggerate but I don't think so. Regardless, we were both wide awake at 05:00 and decided there was no more sleep to be had so we checked out. Unfortunately th... Read more
