Condo was very nice and well stocked. Grounds are absolutely beautiful. Beach at the edge of the property. (Great snorkeling ) The resort contracts with an athletic club across the street for pool use. Nice pool, but it closes at 7pm. Resort can get a little noisy and the lack of A/C could get annoying on the few nights it was humid.

Love the plantation and we have returned many times. Staff is great, beach is stellar, snorkeling at Poipu State Park is a delight. We have stayed at the same condo a number of times and the owner is so easy to work with. So why not 5 stars? Be warned that the upgrade to swimming pool area now has a concert arena. And you get very loud music some nights until well after 11pm. So a relaxing late evening dinner in the condo may not happen.

The bed was awful. Who puts a king mattress on top of a queen box spring? Otherwise, the room was fine. Nothing overly exciting. It had dishes and a TV. Standard stuff. Mandatory $135 cleaning service and no daily housekeeping services. Walk down to the beach hut for beach and pool towels. Laundry on site. Snorkeling at poipu beach---awesome! Sea turtles daily! Swam right up to us.

For our budget and needs this location was perfect. The grounds are immaculately kept. All the service personnel was very accommodating and welcoming upon each encounter. All of the ground keepers were always busy, but never intrusive. We had a one bedroom partial ocean view. The condo was updated, well kept and stocked with all the essential needs. We had asked soon after are reservation for a room closer to the beach and not on the road, however our bldg was in the back, roadside, so not su... Read more

I (we) have been going to Kiahuna since it opened. It truly is my "happy place" as I feel like it is my second home. The beautiful beaches, gorgeous grounds, warm trade winds..LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!! Each condo is privately owned so there are many personal touches in each unit.

We were happy with our condo, spacious and airy, and with the lovely breezes we didn't miss having air conditioning. The grounds are gorgeous, and there are barbeques everywhere, making it easy to cook a few meals. Our biggest disappointment were the lack of amenities on site. Going across the road to a beach club for a swimming pool was unacceptable, especially since the riptide at the Kiahuna beach made the water dangerous for those of us not great swimmers. Other than a few snacks at the l... Read more

We loved our stay on the Kiahuna Plantation! The plantation is in an area close to plenty of restaurants and activities. The condo was clean, had all the amenities you would want on vacation. I loved the porch as it had a place to eat as well as lounge chairs. There were plenty of pots/pans and utensils so we didnā??t have to eat out for every meal. The owners gave us some tips on the area which was much appreciated. The beach was super close and it was one of the best beaches I saw on the isla... Read more

Loved the beautiful garden grounds and waking up to the sounds of tropical birds. The room was beautifully decorated and well supplied with anything you needed. The best of both beach and garden. Able to walk to many restaurants and stores, pool is across street but I'm there for the beach anyway. Cleaning fee would of been okay, we were there 6 nites and cleaning was listed as daily, but table top was never wiped and floor was swept maybe 3 times. Maybe table tops not part of the deal? Ha... A beautiful place on the south side of the island our room is a one bedroom king size bed has its own small kitchen dining room and living area the photo is off of our back porch looking towards the ocean a very kickback clean place. The people here are very friendly and the area is beautiful if you're looking for a five-star place where you have daily maid service and room service this is not it but I love being able to cook my own food they have great barbecues here you can use it for the pri... Kiahuna Plantation was exactly what we were hoping for - beautiful, low key, wonderful beach and very down to earth. The grounds are impeccably cared for - really lovely and yet also super user friendly. It was a great mix of visitors - couples, families, old and young - all enjoying the fun and relaxation. Although it is a busy resort it was surprisingly quiet other than the noises of nature from tropical birds and roosters which can occur very early in the morning anywhere on the island. Ou... We did the four hour train, orchard, and hiking tour. There was very little mention of the hiking, or type of hiking, in either the brochure or when we talked with the person before we booked. It's a fairly steep decent into the valley and back up, and from everyone else on the tour they were very surprised as well. Walking sticks were provided which definitely helped. The lunched that was provided was very good and the trip through the orchard was great as we were able to sample several fruits ... Read more

The good: Great staff, great location! Rooms were clean but very outdated, micro wave may have been a prototype for the original microwave. Dishwasher did not clean dishes. With no AC, the plan is to allow the winds to cool the room. However with 10 Million chickens on Kauia the roosters crow at 5:40 AM every morning. You can see into the bedrooms any time because you have to have the windows open all the time to keep it cool. Did not feel secure. No elevators in 3 story buildings. If we had not... Read more

We loved our unit (205), beautiful view of the ocean, very clean. No there was no air condition but we were on an end unit and had a wonderful breeze throughout the condo. The rooms had ceiling fans and small fans so it was very comfortable. The property is just beautiful We will definitely stay again!

We had a 2 bedroom condo, and think updating the units would be very nice and place a tv in the second bedroom. TVs don't cost that much anymore. Larger fans are also needed, the very small one in the second bedroom is for one reason. The access to. Things to do are great, a bar, restaurants, and stores are across the street. Great access to a very nice swim beach.

The Kiahuna Plantation spreads between the road and the beach, in expansive landscaped grounds. The Castle staff gave us the free Expedia VIP upgrade from the partial ocean view accomodation we had booked to the full ocean view. Just a short expanse of lawn separated our apartment from the pristine sand beach. The bed was large and comfortable, the furnishings clean, modern and in good condition. Rentals of snorkelling gear, surfboards and lessons are available by the beach. The restaurant on t... Read more

On our most recent trip we found that the pool is now free access for all visitors to Kiahuna Plantation. This is our favorite place to stay on Kauai. It has an amazing beach and great swimming pool. The swimming pool is across the street. The Roosters do not bother us in the morning, we consider them our alarm clock. We love all the restaurants that are an easy walk, either the Plantation Gardens on the grounds or Keoki's across the street where there are several other fine/inexpensive res... Read more

Firstly you will need a car to get around Kauai!!! Located in Po'ipu it is a 20-30 minute drive from the airport with no easy way to get there via buses. Our room was humongous with great big open kitchen and living area. 5 minute walk to a little shopping village where you can buy some food from various restaurants or the local convenience store to stock the fridge in the room. The resort backs onto Po'ipu beach which was amazing. The rooms had lots of open slats as windows which let the noise ... Read more

We made our reservations through Costco fairly close to the time of travel, so there wasn't a great selection left for Kauai. The nice thing about our stay: they generously gave us an upgrade to Oceanfront condo at check-in for our Anniversary and a nice gift package of goodies. the downside: no AC. Being on the ground floor, we couldn't safely leave the sliding doors open at night and it heated up during the day while we out. The condos are an efficient size, but getting really outdated. ... We stayed in room 404 (ground floor), building 20, Castle Resorts side and we were happy with our accommodations. There is no A/C and I was concerned because my husband likes it cold at night, but there was an additional fan in the bedroom and we left the windows open and he was happy. The condo had beach chairs a boogie board and kitchen supplies. The hotel will provide beach towels. We were in a beachfront apartment and could not fault the location. Perfect for turtle spotting. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always speaking if they saw you. A beach hut was available for FOC towels/chairs for the beach. You could also rent body boards etc but the water had considerable swell while we were there and very sensibly they would not rent equipment for safety reasons. A lovely relaxing place. Kiahuna Plantation Cottages is my favorite place to vacation near Poipu. This time we stayed in a beach-front cottage and let the rhythm of the surf lull us to sleep at night. During the day, snorkeling and boogey boarding were a few steps away from our front door. The third day of our stay here, a monk seal decided to lounge on the beach in front of our cottage. The staff at Kiahuna are cheerful, helpful, and clearly care about their guests enjoyment of the plantation but also of Kauai.

Although we took the least costly room (closer to road), it was quite adequate, clean, and well outfitted. Our unit was second floor, end room and had great airflow. The pull out couch was uncomfortable for my daughter (sagging in the middle and feeling the springs), but the rest was quite comfortable for the rest of us. The furniture was a bit on the "used/dated" side, especially the stained dining room chairs.....no doubt from wet swimsuits over the years. The cabinets also seemed old and a... Read more

Rented two separate two bedroom condos for a family anniversary trip. "Ocean view" was a view of the public beach parking lot. Both condos (209 & 210) were very run down and in desperate need of repairs and upgrades. Castle was not very helpful at all in getting us where we wanted to be on the property. One condo was overrun with flies - we eventually just killed them ourselves after the Castle folks dawdled around. On the plus side - the grounds and the beach at the Kiahuna are some of the... Great place to stay on a great beach! Family of 19 stayed in 5 one bedrooms. We were in buildings 26, 27, and 34. We were put in bldg 7 instead of 34 at first and I should have left it because 7 is closer to the others and the beach. But 34 had great views. Our condo in 27, first floor, walked right out onto the lawn to the beach. Everyone loved their condos. We have a ground floor condo (419) which we find is very comfortable. There's a large sitting area with comfortable chairs and a well equipped kitchen. Outside there's a table, chairs and loungers. We've found the staff helpful, especially Gailey who advises about excursions and will book everything for you. The grounds are beautiful especially the orchid garden. The beach is easily accessible. We have had a very pleasant stay here.

Stayed six nights at Kiahuna Plantation Resort. Lovely resort, beautiful beach, peaceful surroundings. We grilled on the outdoor grills, enjoyed sunsets on the lanai and rented surfboards on the beach. It was a great vacation and I hope to be able to return again.
