The location was perfect before our flight the next day. The room was small but confortable. Wifi was great and we got to do our washing downstairs. Walking distance to Kauai beer company which offers awesome food and home brewed beer.

We had our daughter stay there before her Apt opens up and it was clean and simple with a very nice staff. It is not a marriot but you can not be all picky and whiney with such good prices. Super close to the airport!

We stayed at this hotel on both sides of a week time-share on the North Shore. It is a "hotel" so the single-bed rooms are quite small. But it is clean and well cared for with a friendly staff. A breakfast bar in the lobby has morning coffee and tea. There is a vending machine for other drinks and snacks, including snacks that can be heated in the microwave in the lobby. There was a small fridge in the room. We had a first floor room which had AC. We used it, even with an April stay, and had... Read more

Coming in late, I wanted something very close to the airport. Great location and close to many of the best restaurants also! Had ground floor with 2 twins in small room. TV on dresser between the 2 beds made for easy viewing and there was a mini fridge in ample closet. Kauai coffee 7-9am is nice start to the day and Kauai Palms a great place to start a Kauai vacation!

Kauai Palms Hotel is a wonderful budget choice. It is an older property maintained well by a warm and welcoming staff. My only minor complaint is the wifi only worked by the office, that said, there was a very comfortable open air but under cover work area at the hot spot. Heads up, not all rooms have AC, and when I checked in and was in one of them they moved me to one right away, as this Rocky Mountain resident was overwhelmed with Hawaii humidity. As a landscape photographer I found the... Read more

We stayed here because we needed an inexpensive place close to the airport after getting in late and it was fine. The room was ready for us when we got there. It was our only night with air conditioning. The hotel is older and in an industrial area. The room was small and in the humidity it is understandable it is hard to keep clean. The main areas had been wiped down but there was black mold in the corners. The staff was pleasant. I wouldn't want to spend my vacation here, but for a nigh... Read more

We wanted to see the island of Kauai, not sit in our hotel room all day. Therefore, all we needed was a clean home base with a bathroom and Internet. The room we got was a small queen, minifridge, and bathroom. For the price it was great. Washer/drier for our clothes (~$5 for a complete load with detergent), friendly staff, and free coffee every morning at 7:30 AM. It is reasonably priced and we like its location in the middle to either go north or southwest. Parking our rental car has neve... Read more

My son forgot his notebook in the room & they mailed it back to us. Always treated like Ohana here! Mahalo nui!!!!

My wife and I stayed for one night. Arrived by bicycle. The room was small but very clean and nicely appointed. Everything in the room was of high quality and in good repair. The shower was tiled and worked well. There was a pedestal sink with a nice faucet. The grounds were nicely landscaped. It was a much nicer room than we had expected. There are a number of decent but basic restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend for a basic room with nice personal touches.

If you are looking for a budget option in Lihue, I recommend Kauai Palms Hotel. The rooms were clean and basic, the setting is industrial, but with a great view of the mountain from the back of the hotel. There is great food and a great beer garden just a couple blocks away. The staff is warm and generous and helpful.

This place is in a Great Location. Nothing Fancy, Nice, Clean, Friendly Staff. Close to Great Local Restaurants, within walking distance to many. Very close to the airport. I think about Two miles. You can't go wrong staying here. Your only decision is to A/C or not to A/C.

Friendly reception, pride themselves on cleanliness. Organised a Taxi for the morning. Comfy bed, reasonably quiet, hot shower. If you are looking for a place to stay for an early morning flight, for the price you can't go wrong

This hotel looks like an old motel that was converted and it may have been. It is not elaborate like some of the resorts but the rooms are kept immaculately clean, air conditioning is provided, the landscaping is beautiful and they immediately jump to meet any need. Across the street is the mountain range that was used in every opening scene of MASH and the interior of it was used in Jurassic Park. There are no hissing cockroaches here like in some of the resorts (where most of the wedding guest... Read more

For those who haven't been to Kauai you'll discover that prices are substantially higher and in many areas and your choices here tend to be in this hotels price range around 100 and then there's a big jump to over 200 so there isn't what I would call a lot of hotels that are in the mid range so super eight type hotels just don't really exist here in less you want to really drive. For most of us flying over from the states after we check in late you just want to get to your hotel and crash and th... Read more

This is a basic, older motel, close to the airport, and everything is kept very clean. The shower has been updated and the slightly higher barrier/ threshold is a nice touch to keep the rest of the bathroom dry and clean. The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. She came across as genuinely proud of her hometown and really wants you to enjoy the beautiful island of Kauai. For those who don't want to spend a fortune on accommodation, Kauai Palms is a great option in expensive Kauai.

We booked this place for the price and the convenience of being close to the airport for our last night in Kauai (after having spent a week in the Hanalei area). It was under $100/night whereas other places in Lihue were $150-200 (or more). For that price, we got a small but functional room with AC and ceiling fan, ensuite bathroom and mini-fridge. It was on the ground floor near the end of the building but we were not bothered by noise from the street or passers by. The bed was decently comfy a... Read more

This was a lovely quaint hotel that was nice to retire to after a long day of exploring and adventure seeking. The bed was incredibly comfortable. While the room may be very small it was perfect for just my daughter and I. Very clean, hot shower, great price and most of all quiet with only the wind rustling through the palm trees, and the occasional rooster. This is not your typical resort environment. If that's what you are looking for this is definitely not it. Some rooms had window units but... Read more

This was a good place to stay. It's not fancy, but a good value. I had a package mailed here, which was a great benefit. The guest laundry worked fine. Parking is very close. They have plenty of tourist info. The staff was friendly and helpful.

My husband & I stayed here for one night with our 9 week old son. Check in was quick and staff was friendly. The room was clean and comfortable, but a lot smaller than we anticipated. It was quite the squeeze to make it work with a safe place for our baby to sleep - my husband ended up sleeping on the floor! For the price, it was totally fine for one night but I would definitely inquire about larger rooms should I stay there again. Ample free parking which is always a bonus. I emailed them three... I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Kauai Palms when I stayed there for 5 nights this August. I enjoyed my stay so much that I booked two more for right before I leave Kauai at the end of September. Pros: It is less than a $10 ride from the airport. Right next to the Kauai Beer Company (check out their Thursday nights!). Super friendly front desk. Laundry on-site. Affordable, clean rooms, quiet (any noise I heard came from the street and that did not happen often, couldn't even tel... Read more

Pleasant experience here. Everything was as expected. The rooms are small, but the square footage of each room is provided online, so you know what you're getting. The rooms are also recently remodeled and tastefully done... looks just like the photos. I was pleasantly surprised to find a well-stocked vending machine in the lobby that takes credit cards, a guest coin laundry area... and even a rice cooker in my hotel room. You can walk to restaurants easily. Staff was nice and helpful. The WiFi ... Read more

Perfect place to land after a really long flight. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Older hotel but well maintained and managed. Would recommend for business trip and for budget conscious travelers. Free parking but no pool or other features there if you want a resort type hotel you will be disappointed. I was very happy there for my first night in Kauai.

This motel is a charming, very clean yet older one that we stayed at while waiting to move on. One mile from the Lihue airport makes life easy while in transition. It is so quaint that we loved it. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and we would definitely stay there again for one night.

This is a cute quirky airport side hotel. I throughly enjoyed my stay, the price is a great value for proximity to airport. Friendly staff, hot coffee in the morning, parking, clean, kitchen aminities. Make time to get Siamin at the place around the corner also! Overall awesome experience. Mahalo!

Our stay here was pleasant enough and the cost was less than most. We chose this place for our first night on the island because it was close to the airport and we knew we would be tired. The room was clean and comfortable, though small and a little bit rustic. There wasn't much space to put luggage without tripping over the largest bag, but we managed. Bathroom door was a bit beat-up and could use replacement. We awoke too early for coffee and breakfast offering, so had to go out for break... Read more

Went to Kauai for the trekking/camping and got completely rained out.. After two nights in the wet we decided on skipping yet another one and find refuge at the Palms. The description in the lonely planet was very accurate! Staff was top notch and facilities fabulous. Great value for money and very tidy. ..after that more rain whilst tenting.. wished we had booked one more night in Lihue

We booked for one night after a long flight from Atlanta. Since we had a condo booked for our stay we decided to stay the day of arrival in Lihue. This hotel is an old motel that is clean but dated. No frills. Lovely management. Window unit air conditioners. Within walking distance to local restaurants. We ate at a local sports pub. Great food and music on a Friday happy hour. Rested ok. Shower adequate... One towel each. No hair dryer. A mini fridge we didn't use. Area looks sketchy but we had... Read more
