"Excellent room and patio with all the amenities I would expect from a high-end resort, although the built-in ice maker in our unit was very slow in producing ice. Great response from staff in addressing any concerns we had. And very good service overall, again what I would expect. Lovey merits special recognition.

The location is very good, although people wanting to run back and forth to Poipu Beach throughout the day might be disappointed at the distance - we drove the 1 mile for convenience.

Most guests would opt for a vehicle vs. taxi service with the number of attractions throughout the island and wealth of quality shops in the neighborhood. While a strip-mall-style retail area is well within walking distance, most shopping and restaurants are driving distance. I would not consider this a self-contained resort, not because you couldn't manage (barely) for a week without leaving, but because it's easier and more enjoyable to sample the entire Koloa/Poipu area.

Great for families. When construction on the grounds moves indoors, would highly recommend.

"We rented a 3 bedroom suite for 8 days. When we got to the room we spent the first half hour running around the condo schocked at how nice the accomaditions were. It was amazing. Had 7 people (1 slept on couch) and there was still lots of space. Rooms were huge, every couple had their own bathroom. No expense was spared on the room and it was practically brand new. If you don't like the room, you are very picky and i doubt you'd be happy anywhere. Everytime i called the front desk they addressed me by name. The upper floors had a semi private elevator- it looked like only the two rooms above me shared one elevator. The grounds were beautiful and the pools not very crowded. We spent most of our time at the adult pool which had the BBQ's and we were usually the only people at it. Parking was free, the resort fee around $20 a day which is less than most places, and includes wireless internet. You could walk to the beach at the sheraton, was about 10-15 min walk . Other than that you'll probably want to drive to the other beaches. Parking is limited at the beaches, but we always found a spot. There is a fairly big outdoor mall across the street which has quite a bit of shops, and the scuba diving boats leave from the harbor nearby.

The only complaint i had was the condo wasn't beach front. But we ate at the bar at the marriott, and my goodness, we were very happy we had our own kitchen to cook and were glad that we had our own space. And if it was beachfront, theres no way i would have been able to afford it. I guess my other complaint is since we've come home, my wife wants me to do a bunch of renos so that our house looks like the condo we stayed in.

And if you're going to go, make a reservation at Beach House restaurant. Like the name, its on the ocean and the food is fantastic. I found the prices reasonable for the quality and location, but check the internet for their menu if you are concerned about that.
We also went snorkeling with captain andy's, the crew tried exceptionally hard to make sure we had a great day.
Also went diving with sea sport divers. Had only 4 people on the boat, and the dive master and boat captain were awesome.

"We had a wonderful time at this resort. We were very surprised that it was not very crowded in mid September-it felt like we almost had the resort to ourselves. It was very clean, high class, and the villa's were well stocked and beautiful. There was some construction, and we were not as close to the ocean as we had wished, but we would go back. "Finally went on our trip to Kauai and stayed at The Koloa Landing @ The Wyndam. Aside from just saying how "gorgeous... and "amazing... this place is, I really wanted to break down the rooms to better assist you all.nnWho we are:nnCouples in our mid-late 20's. We don't party or do anything extreme, just good ol fashion activities, exploring, and trying places to eat :)nnWhere we INITIALLY stayed:nnKoa Kea %u2013 Wanted to stay here, but way out of our budgetnHyatt %u2013 First Pick, but they were full and required a 5 night minimum stay?nSheraton %u2013 I initially booked here because of the location right next to the beach, but moved to Koloa Landing because of the following reasons.nn1. Koloa had full kitchen , washer / dryer %u2013 Sheraton does notn2. Koloa has free parking %u2013 Sheraton does notn3. Koloa has a $20 resort fee %u2013 Sheraton is $25 (not major)n4. All the reviews on the rooms at Koloa are consistent from my research. Clean, amazing, huge, and impressive. Sheraton did have "Newly remolded rooms... specials, which my GF and I did not want to take a risk on purchasing and end up in an old dirty room.n5. The only thing the Sheraton has on top of Koloa is the location. They're directly on the beach, but in my opinion, Poipu beach is just OK. There are so many other secluded beaches on this island that you will be away driving and exploring during your stay. (that's what we did)n6. In my opinion, it only makes sense to stay at Sheraton if you're a frequent visitor to Kauai, in for the value, and don't want to drive far.nnWho this resort is for:nnFamilies, couples, and adults age 25 . If you're looking to party, sorry but you need to go on another island for that. Nice and sunny, with some cloudy spots of rain but nothing to ruin the trip.nnRoom:nnSo you're probably wondering, if Koloa landing is not directly on the beach (which is only a 3 min drive), what's the point of a partial / ocean front view room?? As you all have read by now, Koloa Landing is in the middle of their phase 2 construction. Since everyone on here makes post of how "beautiful... the resort is, and not actually show how the rooms are, I wanted to break down what this place has to offer. If you're getting an ocean front, this is probably one of the best views you're going to get. If you don't care for ocean / partial, just go with a resort room. Your view will be the court yard to the left at 1 second of the beginning of the video.n5. Building 9, you can definitely see and hear the construction. Is it that bad? Well, we were gone most of the time so it didn't bother us that much, but the times we wanted to relax w/ the doors open, we had to shut the door a couple of times. Did it ruin our stay? NO %u2013 We look at the bigger picture, which is being on the beautiful island of Kauai!nnCouple things handy to bring for your room:nn1. Cooking Oiln2. Laundry detergent / fabric softenern3. SeasoningnnCar Rental:nnGo through price line and make a bid on a car. I got $14/day and got a compact car. Upon arrival, we noticed most of the nicer cars there were 4WD jeeps or convertibles. I wish we upgraded to a jeep, which would have been more fun/its ok, next time.nnRestaurants:nnTop places we ate nearbynn1. Plantations Garden %u2013 Ate here first night coming in. Food was OK %u2013 For the amount we spent on this, you could have easily eaten at another restaurant and have some $ leftover.n2. Tortilla Republic %u2013 Food was amazing, but if you sit on the patio for dinner, its so dark and we couldn't see our delicious meal loln3. Hukilau Lani %u2013 Our favorite spot. Great location and we ordered the gluten free 5 course dinner menu. Each dish that came out was spot on.nn"
