Although not so new, this facility has lovely rooms, some with beautiful ocean views (we paid to be sure we got one of these). Very friendly staff. Also enjoyed the breakfasts. The beach is beautiful and there is also a pool and and a wonderful whirlpool.

The pool, beach and location are first rate. The hotel is clean, but over due for a makeover (the carpet in our room was discolored and worn and the decor was showing signs of wear). The two restaurants are OK. "Lava" is an open-air restaurant that offers a great views of the ocean. But it is only open for breakfast and lunch most days. Lava's food is expensive and nothing special. They were out of the Ahi tuna dish I tried to order. The lettuce in my wife's salad was dirty and the servic... Read more

We got a special deal and got a Garden View room. We were not disappointed. It was a nice room adequate for us. We were gone mostly during the day. It was quiet. The Resort could use some updating. We looked out onto the pool with NO peak of the ocean but we could just walk across the street. It is nicely located for Poipu activities. The picture is the view from our Garden View hotel room. Free parking in the self park area was a bit of a walk but well worth it. I would recommend it.

For years, my husband and I have been staying here. You can't beat the location and ocean views. I definitely recommend being oceanfront. You can walk along the ocean all the way to the lovely Kukuiula luxury shopping center with many of the island's excellent restaurants. It's fun to go there Wednesday for their gourmet farmer's market. The hotel recently redid the Lava Restaurant so now you can have an ocean view while dining.

My husband and I were intrigued by an offer that the Sheraton was offering about 6 months ago. 698.00 USD and a small car rental for5 days in a garden suite. Well we should have known better!! It's a timeshare offer!!! I kept all of the mailings so that I will have time to go over them in great detail on the flight home. "Our handler" Deann was a sweet knowledgeable gal. We enjoyed her spirit and really wanted to believe we got the deal of a lifetime. She had called a few weeks I. Advan... Read more

Traveling with a 6 month old baby this location was the best for us. Easy pool and ocean access with beautiful beaches. The resort is very family friendly, great programs for kids. We upgraded to an ocean view room when we arrived because the other side of the hotel has smaller rooms and since we were spending significant time in the room with the baby, it's totally worth it.

My husband and I stayed in on our trip in February. We were there for a week in a garden room and it was fantastic. Don't worry about not being on the beach side if you want to save some money The garden side of this resort is very close to the beach as well. About 2 minutes away. The garden pool is great for quieter swimming, reading, and sunning. The pool closer to the beach tended to be a lot more packed (it has bar service). The Sheraton is everything you expect from a Sheraton with regards ... Read more

There are 3 wings, 2 on the beach side and one across the street on the garden side. Each wing has a series of buildings. Pros: Location: very close to poipu beach park where snorkeling in the morning is nice. Shipwreck beach is also close. Sheraton beach is a bit rough. But beautiful. There are 2 shopping centers close by with plenty of restaurants, starbucks, drug store, souvenirs etc. Valet parking is 10$/day. The first day on arrival is free. We stayed at the Sheraton Resort in Poipu for five nights over Memorial Day weekend, on a package deal that Starwood occasionally offers its SPG members. We‚??d taken advantage of a similar deal at their Kaanapali Resort on Maui several years prior, and this package was nearly identical: five nights stay in a garden-view room for up to four people, a voucher for a rental car with Avis, and a $75 resort credit. We read the fine print carefully before accepting it, as we knew there was a timeshare... Read more

We splurged on an ocean view room, which was well worth the upgrade price. The view of the pool and beach was lovely, and the room was spacious and had excellent bedding. (I love the pillows most Sheratons have.) The front desk agent who made the upgrade happen was great, as were the valets and concierge. Tasty food from the 2 restaurants we tried (Link Cafe and Lava's). It was too turbulent to do much in the water during our stay, as the south shore can get high wind and waves in summer, but ... We stayed at the Sheraton Poipu for ten nights and loved it! We had originally booked a garden view room, but decided to splash out and upgrade to an ocean view on the 4th floor. Our room was a bit worn, however, a good size, well-appointed and the magnificent ocean view from the 4th floor made up for it. The beds were super comfy too. We explored the garden wing of the hotel and I‚??m sure that we would have been happy there too, especially in one of the newly renovated rooms facing the beautif... Read more

We loved the open air concept of this hotel and the fact that its on one of the prettiest beaches on the island. My only complaints are the hotel beach towels there offer and the fact that when I called the Front desk to request champagne and strawberries to be delivered around 6pm that they told me I had to go online and set this up. I was so confused as this should of been a simple request and I was glad to pay what ever the fee would be. BUT I would still stay here again lovely hotel and the ... Read more

The staff was cheerful and helpful and lodgings were fine. We had a spectacular ocean view on the 4th floor Ocean Wing. Our biggest disappointment is minimal number of umbrellas provided around the pool (I believe 8) for shade for how many guests? Beach had cabanas for a cost, but not complete shade even then. If you love the beach/pool but also want shade, good luck! Love eating in open air restaurant Lava's for buffet breakfast with great variety.. Many restaurants available within walking... Read more

We always have a great time here. We have stayed here 3 years in a row with family. Noel at Rum Fire is awesome! He remembers my parents every year. Arc at the beach activities desk is always super nice and helpful. This is the perfect spot for all of us. My parents can rent cabana chairs and read. My sister and her family can swim at the pool or the ocean. Great restaurants are close by. My husband and I like to run to the Spouting Horn in the morning. I hope we can return next year!

The pictures don't do the garden area justice. We also enjoyed the peaceful and lovely garden pool. Another great thing were the Hawaiian craft lessons. The service was great, loved the pool area, beach area and grounds. We had a great stay here with 3 generations. The prices were pretty outrageous-from a coffee you have to buy at Starbucks, to breakfast to drinks, it was so expensive. Also, they don't let you know that you can park in a lot, without having to drop 5-10 bucks on a valet every time you want to run to the store or go into town. We were in Kauai on honeymoon for 14 days total. The last 3 were enjoyed at the Sheraton. Depends on the couple but stay at Sheraton if you want to relax by a decent pool, beach and have some drinks. So after reading all of the stellar reviews about this hotel, I booked 8 nights on points and arrived to an upgraded Ocean front room as an SPG gold member. Let me start off by saying my expectations I think were set a bit too high as I usually stay at a Westin or St. Regis property, so I think I was expecting a bit more of that level of service. Very basic but clean rooms - definitely a step down from Westin in the Starwood chain in that the rooms a bit more dated and furniture is worn (eg chips on the wood, small holes in the woven balcony furniture chairs). The biggest con is that the A/C in our room didn't really get the room cool even at the lowest temperature - it kept the room from being hot and because we were only there for 3 nights didn't feel like bothering with lodging a complaint and getting it fixed since we were out and ab...
