We stayed at Sugar Beach Resort for 7 nights and we were very happy with our choice. This resort is a great choice if you like having easy/quick access to just about anywhere on Maui, like watching beautiful sunsets, like a well maintained facility, like saving some money, like low crowds, and if you like walking a beautiful beach that goes for miles. I am sure the condo experience can vary depending on which unit you get but for us, everything was lovely, clean, and had plenty of supplies (to... Read more

We were in room 415--right on the beach. Great sunsets and the sound of crashing waves to sleep by. The beach front grounds, swimming pool, and spa are well kept, manicured, and clean. The rooms are condo rental units--ours was tired and dated. We saw several other units in much superior condition. If you use the air conditioner--it's loud. We didn't need it except for late afternoons. The location is perfect, but make certain you know the condition of the condo if that's a deal breaker. Just 8 ... Read more

Last minute trip and found this great place! Beautiful view of the ocean. Everything we needed with linens, full kitchen, nice living room and bedroom. We were on Maui to see family so didn't spend much time but loves the beach!

My husband and I picked this resort for our honeymoon. It wasn't luxurious by any means but we chose to save money by picking this condo so we could afford other adventures on the island. And besides, where do you spend most of your time in Hawaii? Not in your condo. Ha ha! The condo had everything we needed and more, including chairs for the beach and a cooler and ice packs for drinks. Waking up and having coffee on the patio with the ocean view was incredible as well. We would leave the screen... Read more

We spent 14 days in a one bedroom forth floor ocean view condo, it was perfect. When we walked through the front door after our trip from Montana we were greeted with an amazing Hawaiian Sunset. The condo has everything you need for your visit and very clean. The property is beautiful with a really nice heated pool, hot tub and BBQ area to visit and meet your neighbors from all over. The beach is fantastic and sits on several miles of wildlife sanctuary beach with lots of turtle activity perfec... Read more

Sugar Beach Resort is in a great central location in Kihei, but you definitely still need a car. Nice walkable beach. If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is an ideal resort. The views from a ocean front room are great, but the common area/pools need updating.

We booked late at Christmas time and took a couple of rooms here because of lack f choice. We normally stay in very high end places and we were a little somber when we saw the place. After a couple of days we were really glad we'd picked this place and are planning to come back. Kehei is much more relaxed than other places on Maui and the beaches are quieter. The resort could use a little updating but it's still a great place and would suit people who are coming for longer stays. Get an oce... Read more

You have to be minimum 80 years old to enjoy this place. You absolutely need a car to go for super at night. The beach is not worth swimming in it unless you want to drown plus lots of rocks just like Wakiki beach. You get fool by all the publicity of how beautiful Hawaii is...first the sand is the same kind has what we have in lakes...not that white color of the pictures. Ok some scenery are nice and pittoresque but not it is raining so often. December is a month of rain . First and last time... Read more

When we booked the Sugar Beach Resort back in October, we had requested an ocean view unit. However, when we arrived in December, we found the unit to be on the second floor and with a garden view with a peek-a-boo ocean view in the distance. Since we arrived at the resort very late in the evening, the office was closed so we could not tell them about our dilemma. The next morning, we went to the rental office to explain our situation - that when we booked a unit with an ocean view, we expect... Read more
