Clean, un-asuming, home style stay. This place has all you need in a central location. Quiet location, great beach. Stayed on two occasions and never a suprize. A very well cared for property in a quiet location. Easy travel to all points on the island. Who cares about wifi and TV, this is Hawaii!!!

Found this property on Groupon and decided to finally do a trip to Maui for our 40th anniversary. We booked an oceanfront unit. The unit we had was clean and had some extras. We had breakfast on the balcony every morning. This seems centrally located and easy access to everything. We will return. The picture was taken from our balcony. So peaceful ! (And reasonable)

All the rooms are different as they are condos with different owners. Some are nicer than others but you are on the beach. No road to cross and you can go for long walks. Nice pool and grounds. Close to shops.

Sugar Beach resort is a beautifully located building with a great pool, right on the beach and has probably the best strip of beach for walking on Maui. The unit 202 was a one bed one bath unit with views off the lanai and less than a minute to the beach. The is water equipment rentals and a mail drop on site as well as a bar (Dina's Sandwitch) My wife and I had a wonderful time here and would come back again!!!

The furniture was dated but the room and especially the view was worth a million dollars. You have to get the ocean view. The ocean felt so close that just sitting in the living room watching the ocean was like being on the beach. When we finally did go down to the beach there were max 10 people for miles. It was private and wonderful. Would absolutely go again.

From the amazing flower scent when we landed in Kahalui, to quick easy drive to Sugar Beach. Our condo 213 was breath taking. It's a corner unit, facing the ocean, side window of pool. Was decorated with great taste & very comfortable. Family (ohana) owned, looks like a lot of love & hard work is put in. The grounds & pool were very well kept, everyday someone cleaning, ect... The office was helpful & if we needed anything they made it happen for us if they could. This Hawaiian Paradise also ... Read more

We spent three nights at Sugar Beach in a ground floor, ocean view suite. The decor and amenities were outdated and not at all beautiful but the view from our room and the overall perfect vacation vibe more than made up for the 1980's decor (each unit is decorated differently I think so other's may be way better). We explored past Napili (spouse went spearfishing and boar hunting), as far south as Le Peruse Bay and even hiked Poli Poli all while staying in Sugar Beach. We hit happy hour in Kihei... Read more

This was our 4th time at Sugar Beach. 4 different condo, all ocean front and all good. Right on the water. Open the lanai door and listen to the ocean all night long. This time we were in 526, but we have stayed on the 2nd and 3rd floors too. All condos are the same size except for some on the top floor which are larger.. Nicely furnished for cooking in. BBQ on site. Convenient to everything, yet very quiet. Nice reef 50 yards offshore. Turtles are there for you to see. You can walk o... Read more

I rented Unit 128 for a week and found it more than adequate for my needs. The owners of this condo have stocked it with just about everything anyone could need. Very clean. Awesome views from the oceanfront lanai, great sunsets, mesmerizing surf.

Sugar Beach Resort is well-maintained and convenient to drive to either the northwest coast or Kihei. The pools are excellent and the staff is friendly. Free shaded parking is available. The condominium rentals are very expensive, although for that area they probably are considered to be average, and the wi-fi, although free, is slow.

Sugar Beach Resort isn't like your typical resort since the units are individually owned and the property is actually all condos. When I go to Hawaii I like renting a condo since it works best for my vacation style. Personally I like having access to a kitchen and not having to go out for every meal. Members of my family have been staying at Sugar Beach Resort since it opened up in the late 1970s and the first time I stayed here was in 1996. I've been here over a dozen times since 1996 and the p... Read more

Our stay at Sugar Beach was booked through Beach Condos Hawaii, who kept in contact with us before and after our stay. We stayed on the sixth floor, ocean front, and our condo was called a "penthouse" condo, not really it is just a condo on the sixth floor. So if you are booking do not let the word penthouse stop you from renting it. Excellent concierge service, so knowledgeable not just there to sell you an excursion but they know Maui!! Friday morning there is a poolside introduction to Maui,... Read more

We spend a week here in a one bedroom condo with a nice ocean view. The condo was pleasant and well equipped though somewhat dated. We found it online and it was our first time renting a condo. Don't know how to research individual units but would be a good idea. The property is located on a nice beach, the water was clear and the snorkeling was good. The water is shallow and there is a lot of coral here. Next time I would bring water shoes as my son fell off the paddle board we rented downstair... Read more

The late night arrival was a breeze, even if the front desk is only available normal office hours. I think this is even faster if you just have to follow the instructions. Anyway, the room was tropical motif which brings the real Hawaiian atmosphere. Everything was supplied for just like when you are in a regular house. I guess the best way to describe this place is that it's " a home away from home" feel .. washer/dryer was available in the unit, which came in handy. Once you open the do... Read more

Ground level condo. 50 feet to the ocean. Watched canoes every day passing by. Relaxing sound of the ocean. Great view. Well equipped with basics. Just bring your clothes. Cook in to save money, or not.

Sugar Beach is in the windy part of Maui so every night the wind blows. The pool is small to mid sized and there is a nice hot tub. The beach is beautiful but has rocks not to far out under the water so swimming isn't great but it's mid way between the two big towns with pretty beaches. A good mid way point for explorers. The condo was small for a family of 4 with a two seat small dining table and two chairs at the counter top. Some condos had items to borrow, ours had a cooler, chairs and ... Read more

The condo was nicely decorated, island style. Bathroom was a tiny shower with toilet. Vanity and sink was in bedroom area. Small kitchen. As we spent little time in the room, really didn't matter to us. Didn't have any boogie boards or recreational gear as other units we have rented. Location was good (as long as you have a car). Not really walking distance to any restaurants or decent shopping. However, we would return as it was a great value and right on the beach.

This would be our second visit; last visit was in 2007. We enjoyed our stay here; the only disappointment would be the coral erosion off the beach. We were assigned to the third floor unit, which is well kept and all the amenities. Although this stay is short, four days and three nights. We still enjoy our stay. This establishment is perfect for couple and family with children; quiet and peaceful after 9:30 pm. If not for the coral erosion, I could give this resort even higher rating.

Great condo location and price in Kihei - close to everything on Maui. The condos are just steps from the beach and you hear the waves from your room. Bring water shoes as the beach is rocky, but we often traveled to other locations for beach play and snorkel. I love how the beach is quite and feels private and at night you can see so many stars. It is not glamourous or upscale, but you feel at home right away and a walk down the beach to a local bakery in the morning is a wonderful way to star... Read more

We really enjoyed our stay last year at Sugar Beach Resort. The condos are in a great location at the North end of Kihei, steps to the beach and amazing views. They are clean, well appointed and quiet. Great pool and amenities. Definitely would stay there again.

The condos at Sugar Beach are in a good, central location. The property is very nice and appears to be well maintained. We rented two condos through Condominium Rentals Hawaii. At check-in, we found that one of the units had been changed without any notification to us. We also rented a third condo through Rentals Maui, and we got what we rented.

We arrived Thursday and checked into room 316 with no issues. Friday we we‚??re told that we had to leave our room for an hour because of the Terminex Pest Control spraying every room at the resort. I thought this was odd, since I‚??m from Arizona, we spray every month for things like scorpions, black widows, and sun spiders and don‚??t have to leave our home. Anyway, we didn‚??t think too much of it, and went on with our trip. Saturday morning we started waking up with large, red, extremely pai... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights. Room was clean and well appointed. Each room is privately owned so each room is different. The main shopping centre is about 5 klms away so having a car is preferred. There is a bus that runs every hour and takes 12 minutes to get to the shops. There is an ABC store close by. Mary at the tour desk was very helpful.

We rented condo #519 (Mill Building-ocean view). The rental company (Ali'i) thought of everything and we were pleasantly pleased to find starter samples of soap to get us through the first day. The view was fabulous, but we forgot our binoculars! The furnishings were nice and the bed was so comfortable. The front desk staff were very accommodating except for an older lady with shoulder length hair and glasses. She was so rude to guests who politely asked her to store their luggage (which sh... The Sugar Beach Resort in Kihei has a beautiful beachfront location. The grounds are well maintained and the resort provides direct access to the beach. Some of the rental units are managed by larger property rental companies, while some are rented direct by the owner. We looked for a unit that was rented direct by the owner so as to have quick access to the owner should any problems arise. We had a great unit (PH24), with the decor recently updated; it was well stocked and very clean with a gre... Read more

This s a quiet, restive, beautiful area between Kihei town and Maalea Harbor. The rooms we had were one bedroom with a king size bed, big bathroom and a great kitchen/dining/living area. We found everything you need for daily living like soap, detergent, corkscrews, etc. The balcony was perfectly situated to see the milky way at night and the beautiful colors in the water during the day. If you come during whale season this would be a perfect spot. There is a big pool, hot tub and an intimate... Read more
