"Pros: This is by far the best side of the island and the beach in front of condos is great for snorkeling and whale watching.

Cons: The condo we stayed at 6-305 was very tired looking, joyless decor, old bedding, poor kitchen utensils, chipped dishes and cracked walls in the bathrooms. We requested the ground floor unit and our request was not honored, so we ended up on the third floor. There is no central air conditioning and the unit in the bedroom was extremely noisy, so we could not use it.
I am not one of those people to throw a fit, it is not my idea of a good vacation, but for those people booking this condos, be aware.

"We removed our shoes, as requested. Upon walking on the carpet once, our feet were filthy. The bed and pillows weren't comfortable. They didn't have a can opener or pot holders. The rest of the condo was very nice. There was a large lanai with a partial view of the ocean. The grounds were amazing."

"Our stay in Maui was made all the more enjoyable with our accommodations at the Castle Kamaole Sands resort, which was literally across the road from the beach.
Which made regular beach trips with my son every morning very easy and convenient!
The condo itself was clean, spacious and well equipped with everything we'd need
to enjoy our stay. (Even some beach equipment!!). The grounds were very well maintained with multiple nice BBQ areas for people to use. We'll definitely use this again when we return in the future. It was a great experience.

"The resort is really nice with lovely well maintained grounds.

The reception workers not always helpful and pleasant. We requested early check-in due to my husband's age (86); he was quite tired after a long flight. First we were told to wait until 2 or 3p.m. which is the regular check-in time. Then, suddenly offered immediate accommodation if we paid extra for a partial ocean view. When we declined, we were asked to wait for our original apt until 3:15 and even then, the unit wasn't clean with the maid rushing around, etc. However, the housekeeping cleaned the missed areas the next day.

The mugs though marked 'microwave safe' burned our hands when heated in microwave. They were replaced promptly upon request. We"

"The overall grounds were very nice, the room was a nice sized 1 bedroom condo with a partial view of the ocean. THe only issue that we had was the cleanliness of the room - the dished appeared to be put away dirty, the shower had not been cleaned for some time, the linens had body oil and other stains, and the dining room light did not work. It may have been just a lazy maid because the rest of the grounds were nice & this place is in a good location. "

"Great place to stay. We got the two bedroom and lucked out because we got the larger balcony(they are not all the same size) and the location of the condo was closest to the beach and grill area. The property is large and you want to be closer to the beach area or else it is a longer walk. The location was great, staff was friendly and accommodating and condo had everything you needed. It had beach toys, all the cooking utensils and even tupperware!!! will definately comeback here!"

"My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Kamaole Sands very much. The condo was roomy and we liked the island decor. The pool and hot tubs were a nice finish to a busy day exploring Maui. Our only complaint is that the handicap accessability was poorly done. Our room was on the very end of the building and the handicap ramp was in the middle. It was a long trip for my husband from the car to the room."
