Island Sands Resort is just a short distance from Maalaea Harbor and shops which provides convenient access to recreation, shopping, dining, and other activities that might interest you. Some of the best boat activities leaving out of Maalaea Bay are whale watching, snorkeling, sport fishing, and diving excursions. Take a break from Maalaea Bay and go to the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium which was voted ``Best Attraction on Maui.`` Another thing outside of Maalaea Bay is Maui Sports Park where you can go miniature golfing, drive a bumper boat, or jump and climb walls on the trampolines or rock climbing activities.

• The Waterfront restaurant is a fine choice for dining, located just down the road from Island Sands Resort it boast the reputation of a FIVE STAR RATING from Honolulu Magazine and has placed first in the `Best Seafood` category for three years by The Maui News.

• Buzz`s Wharf is considered `One of Maui`s Oldest Traditions` and is one of the oldest restaurants on the island. Buzz`s Wharf serves an American cuisine with a touch of island flavor to give the guest the ultimate experience of Hawaii. Buzz`s Wharf sits right on Maalaea Harbor and overlooks the ocean.

• Open for Lunch or Dinner the Blue Marlin Harbor Front Grill and Bar is a nice choice for a relaxed atmosphere and a nice view of Maalaea Bay. If you’re in the mood for a burger or some shrimp/fish and chips and a couple of drinks in a chill setting with friendly service, then this is the place for you.
