The checkin staff was courteous , pleasant and very welcoming. The room was overwhelming . My wife opened the room door and squealed with delight The bed was very comfortable and the ocean view was awesome. We ate dinner at the bar by the pool. The fish tacos were deli ours and the fish and chips tasty. The food deliver person was very pleasant and made us feel welcome. He shared how great the hotel was . I liked the location, near shops and on the Beach. Rooms were great, for a island hotel. Bar was busy and Breakfast was nice, small choice in my opinion. a nice touch was the hammocks in the grounds. The sea was not swimmable.

The Courtyard is OK, we chose to stay there because we were using Marriott points and being a Courtyard it required less points for the stay than a full-fledged Marriott. We stayed there 11 years prior when we last went to Kauai, we noticed the hotel property seemed to have been improved a bit to give it a more resort feel; however the rooms (at least the one we stayed at) did not seem to have changed much since 11 years ago. The room may not have been the most updated, but it's clean and good... Read more

We have stayed here at this Marriott property on previous visits to Kauai. It is a decent hotel and has a beautiful outdoor area and pool/spa. Very relaxing. The interior restaurants and bar open out onto the pool deck area - very nice. But the best views are of the rolling ocean surf in the cove beyond the pool, crashing along the coral reefs. Very relaxing and pleasant! Chaise lounges along the narrow beach are provided. The hotel is looking a little tired, to be honest, and needs some refresh... Read more

A nice hotel to use as our base as we explored Kauai. Clean and welcoming courtyard around the pool. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but had a few Mai-tai's by the jacuzzi. Service was fine. Basic Marriott feel to the room, small fridge, little balcony. Our room looked across the pool out onto the ocean. Pool was not noisy. Good stay!

Anything you need is located on or near this property and our family loved it! Beautiful beach, outstanding sunrise views, close to everything on the island, great room with all the amenities, very nice pool area and hot tub, excellent restaurants onsite, and best of all, free coffee every morning! this hotel is right on a very nice beach, the rooms are spacious and well appointed, as are the bathrooms.the service is wonderful as you would expect from the Marriott brand. The pool area is small but then you have the beautiful beach right in front of you. the restaurant is nothing to brag about, slow service and mediocre food, but the bar and pool service is very nice and they have a good sandwich and pupu menu.

We had a 2 night stay here at the end of our trip as we wanted to stay on the island a bit longer. This property has potential for sure but it is just not quite there yet. The location is nice being that it is centrally located on the island. This positions you to be able to go north or south fairly easy. It is also within close proximity to the grocery stores and places to eat. The beach on site is just ok, very rocky though. The view is pretty nice too. We felt like the rooms were just ok and ... This hotel was just okay by many standards, but it is a Courtyard so it definitely did its job. The price was great, and with the website we booked through, we were able to get a couple of refunds as the price kept dropping as we got closer to the travel date. Here is what was great: - Free towel, cooler, umbrella, chair rentals - if you made sure to get downstairs early enough! These were so nice for a day of exploring! - Decent fitness center - Free coffee every morning - LOCATION! For first ... Read more

We recently stayed here for two nights as part of an island hop while vacationing in Hawaii. The resort is in Kapaa which is on the northeast side of the island. It's roughly a 12-15 minute drive to the airport based on traffic which is usually pretty bad in Kapaa. We constantly ran into congestion all times of the day on route 56. As far as the hotel itself, the exterior and common areas are really nice and generate a nice island ambiance with lush foliage and tiki torch lamps all around the gr... Read more

We visit Kauai two times a year to visit family. We normally rent a condo or a house because we go for three or four weeks. This time we were only spending two weeks on the island. So we choose to stay at a hotel. This is the first time staying at the Courtyard. It is a great location. Beautiful property right on the ocean. If reserved with room, the costs was only about $10 perperson per night or they chraged by $25 for the buffet. Pretty much the same think everyday. This is one of the nicer Courtyard Marriott's that I've stayed at. As a gold member, I got upgraded to an ocean view room, which was a nice bonus. I had a very spacious room on the top floor. My only complaint as far as the room goes is that there was no outlet near the bed to plug my phone in. The location is perfect for exploring the island. Judy and I weren't staying there, but tried this Marriott Courtyard for dinner tonight. Judy found her Ono fish entree delicious, an opinion shared by half a dozen cats she fed after we left the hotel, and my seared Ahi entree was absolutely perfect...generous in quantity, too. As for libations, Judy ordered and enjoyed a mojito, while my choice was something called a coco banana. Drinks are a bit pricey, but they're huge and include double shots.

First of all, the vibe on the island isnt welcoming at all. I experienced it in Honolulu, and when I got to Kauai. The hotel is very nice, and clean. The front desk staff come across uncaring. The wait staff in the lounge come across as self serving and unfriendly if you are not spending money with them. Upon check in, the hotel gives you drink tickets and the drinks are gross. We stayed for three days and the hotel make us feel very comfortable. We were surprised when we were waked up by roosters. But you will find out there are roosters everywhere in Kauai. A free coffee in the morning and a free Mai Tai in the evening make us feel relaxed. My kid like the swimming pool and the hot spring.
