This is my second time staying here. They have daily activities, BBQ grills, pools, hot tubs and a gym. It's perfect if you just want to go somewhere to relax. It's only a short drive to the ocean and from our lanai you can see the ocean. You also have a full size kitchen and living room. My favorite part was the claw foot jet tub. My only suggestion to the owner is the sand bottem jacuzzi as your getting in you have to walk on the rocks they hurt your feet and the rooms should have a full size... Read more

All in all this place was fantastic! Pros: The rates were reasonable, two nice pools, friendly staff, great location, plenty of free parking, wonderful suites! The rooms are all two bedroom (king size beds) with two bathrooms, kitchen, and living space with outdoor lanai with lots of seating! They have a great staff with lots of knowledge. The Expedia desk set us up with great deals on two excursions. The units had all the basic kitchen needs: paper towel, pots and pans, Tupperware, spoon... Read more

Stayed here for our honeymoon. It was wonderful. Even though it was during busy season (Aug) and there were lots of people it was not too noisy. The pool was great. When it rained it was even better. There are stray cats running around that we made friends with. Bedrooms were a good size and comfortable. It is well located so it was very easy to find our way around and still make it back to the hotel. We didn't take advantage of any of the activities they had at the resort because we were to bus... The staff was very accommodating, the grounds well maintained. About my only issue was that the front, large pool was marked 5 foot deep on the west end. Actually barely 4 ft., almost 5' in the middle, be careful if jumping, not a problem in the back pool. The sand bottom hot tub (in front) was a pleasant bonus - easy entry. The available grills made for a unique abalone breakfast (visit BIAC behind the Energy Center) The rear pool is great for families (kids pool connected) We love the avai... Read more

I had to travel to Kona on a short trip for work. During this trip, I brought my family with me, knowing I was going to be in a 2 bedroom unit. The property is just beautiful. Landscaping was on point, the feel of the property is NOT old, as has been noted in a few of the reviews, it is Old Hawaii. Purposeful in its intent and design, I was delighted by the architecture of the buildings, and the furnishings in the room I was given. Service by all staff encountered was full of Aloha. Meaning... I really like the Big Island and Kailua-Kona. It is less crowded than Maui. I love to stay at Kona Hawaiian Resort. All the units are two bedrooms and bathrooms with a kitchen, living room, and an outside deck. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The units are 4- plexes so you are not squeezed into a big high rise hotel. It is quiet and relaxing. There are two pools and hot tubs. Albert at the front desk is really helpful.

We are a family of 6 and we travelled during Memorial Weekend 2016 for our Kids baseball tournament, this hotel/condo is just beautiful. We had a beautiful 2 bedroom 2 bath ground floor unit and it was amazing. We didn't have any views but we didn't care because we were going to be at the Old Airport Park all day! The master bedroom was a "budget traveler" Dream!!! Me and My Husband felt like a King and Queen! If we are doing the Kona tourney again, we are definitely staying here again! Also... Read more

This is our 3x staying at this wyndham. We love the layout and the close proximity to Kona. We did have some AC issues the 2nd day here but maintenance fixed it and hand delivered a box of chocolates and a hand written note apologizing for the inconvenience.

This is a GREAT location. It is older, and does have a 70's feel, no question, but we initially LOVED this resort and in fact, purchased a timeshare here 4 years ago. The gardens are beautiful. This was our 3rd stay and sadly, we were disappointed. MAYBE it's because we stayed in a ground-level unit this time as opposed to a 2nd level unit, which I always ask for, but this time nothing else was available. The 2 bedroom unit we had was generally clean, EXCEPT the grout on the tile floors, and ... Read more

The resort was very quiet and inviting. Comfortable/well maintained accommodations. Loved the lanai - large, comfortable table; we ate many meals here. We had plenty of room for 4 adults. Free internet was sufficient, no problems getting connected. Could walk to the shops in town, but bit of a hike. Staff was helpful and friendly. Enjoyed pool and spa (there are 2). No real view of ocean, but beautiful/well maintained grounds with equipped BBQ areas. Would definitely stay here again. Only negati... Read more

Staff was the best thing about the resort. I would never revisit. Had a family above us 4 of out 7 days and the noise was abdolutely unbearable. After reporting to the office the 2nd i had to dpeak with them on the 3rd day. Wall shaking noisey. Resort has few amenities the fitness center is beyond sad. 2 treadmills and A universal machine. About a half mile walk to town for shopping, only two snack vending machines on site. Cant say the place is only good for sleeping because if u have th... Read more

Nice quiet resort. No food or beverages of any kind though. It's a mile walk to restaurants and shops with no convenient public transportation. Rooms are clean but dated. Staff is friendly and helpful. Cats, weasels and birds abound. Pressure to go to a timeshare presentation is apparent but not oppressive.

This is a very quiet and beautiful resort. We didn't use any of the facilities ie pool, grill, etc. as we used this as our home base. When visiting Hawaii I would recommend a car for everything as most of the sights are spread out. There is no restaurant at the resort but within a mile or two there are a multitude of places to eat and shop. The grounds are beautiful and the room was very nice. We had a two bed/two bath unit on the second floor. We were located toward the back and had to walk a ... Read more

We are a family of four and had a fantastic stay. Our unit was a 2 bed, 2 bath presidential unit on the ground floor, which I was nervous about. However we stayed 7 nights and not once had an issue with noise. Our unit was very quiet, clean and upgraded (I think since it was the presidential suite). I loved the large walk in showers and soak tub. We used the grills to cook up dinner one night and ate many breakfasts on the lanai. The unit is well equipped and an ice chest is even provided whic... Read more

Great location. Great condo for family time. Nice pools and hot tub. Carpets probably need change to wood or tile soon though. And would have loved a tv in 2nd bedroom. Beautiful grounds and plants. Love that it looks like Polynesian village. Lanai was great.

We loved the hotel. It is older but clean and it was relatively quiet. You can't go on the balcony without wearing bug repellant. Lots of vegetation so lots of mosquitos around. The only reason it is not a 5 rating is because dining table is on the patio and mosquitos were bad. The town has a very cool surfer vibe.

In May, my wife Estraletta and I celebrated our 50th Birthdays in the 50th State. May was a good time since my birthday is in February and her birthday is in August. Hawaii, a tropical paradise in the Pacific Ocean, was an incredible location to enjoy natural wonders, learning about different cultures, and relaxing in a peaceful environment. We traveled to three different islands: Oahu, the Big Island, and Maui. We spent several months planning for this trip so that we will be good stewards ... Read more

We stayed here for 9 nights and loved it. The rooms were very clean, the staff very responsive and polite and happy to help. The pools are a little small but who goes to Hawaii to sit at a pool? The rooms have laundry, full kitchen, all the towels (kitchen, bath, dish, etc) beach towels, laundry soap, dish soap, coffee, etc. We went to costco the first day and stocked up on groceries. Everything is cheaper than everywhere else at Costco including gas. The Safeway is crazy expensive. Get water... Read more

This resort has a great location, beautiful landscaping. Unfortunately, the resort has self induced parking issues. They issue more parking placards then there are available parking spaces. We had one placard issued for our unit whereas other units were issued multiple parking placards. Furthermore, the resort has a large, permanent promotional tent and chairs occupying 20 parking spaces. Three out seven nights we had nowhere to park since we arrive after 9pm. I contacted the mgmt. who referred ... Read more
