Lovely Accommodations
These airy and comfortable studios, one, two and three bedroom suites all include a fully equipped kitchen along with color TV and a Wi-Fi connection to keep you in touch with civilization if you so choose. While staying in these lovely condominiums you can relax at the pool or melt away you stress in the Jacuzzi. Guests are sure to be pleased when staying at these wonderful condominiums.

Housekeeping Services
Please be advised that this resort will provide mid-stay housekeeping service for stays that are 7 days or longer. Guests who are staying less than 7 days can purchase additional housekeeping services at nominal costs. Guests can request for replenishment of the bath amenities at any time without charge. There will be a small fee for the replacement of towels/linens.

Please be advised Castle Kona Bali Kai pool will be closed due to exterior renovations starting August 1, 2012. The project is anticipated to be completed by September 1, 2012. During the project duration, guests will be allowed to use the pool at our sister property, Castle Kona Reef located at 75-5888 Alii Dr. Keys to the Kona Reef pool will be available for pick up at the Kona Bali Kai front desk.

"Room was very hard to find, since we arrived at night and the registration office was closed. Studio was spacious, but did have an 'older smell'.

Kitchen and dining area had ants crawling everywhere. We reported the ants and they finally sent exterminator over to spray, but never offered us another room or discount.

Called ahead and asked about getting a cot for our daughter but was told it would be $25 a night for a cot. When we checked in was not offered a cot, etc. Daughter slept on the small couch, with blankets we brought with us. After about 2 days we asked for a cot and was told it would be an extra $30 a night. We didn't take it. At check out we were told we would have to pay an extra $25 a night because our daughter stayed with us. Website states clearly that children under 17 can stay free. After an argument we were told that there would not be additional charge for our daughter.

In addition we had only TWO bath towels and washcloths in our studio. When asked for more we were told that we were responsible for washing our own towels. Our studio did have a washer and dryer in it but only one small (1 use) box of Tide washing detergent. When we asked for more washing detergent, we were charged $4 a box!!!!!!! (for one use box of tide) We bought more bath towels at the nearest Walmart so that we could have enough clean towels to take our baths, until we could get our towels washed up and ready to use again. I feel that we should not have spent our valuable family vacation time washing up our bath towels, since we spent our money and trusted reserving this resort.

There was a coffee maker and only ONE small pack of coffee. When we asked for more we were charged $2 for each additional pack of coffee, which only made one pot of coffee.

We stayed for a total of 8 nights but was only offered housekeeping once during our stay. There was one housekeeper who was really nice, and seemed to want tto help make our visit as pleasant as possible.

We loved our visit to the Big Island but if we ever get to return we will NOT be staying at the Castle Konaa Bali Kai."

"We stayed 9 nights in a 1 bedroom ocean front. The staff was very good and even gladly accommodated our request for change of room after the first 4 nights.
The bedroom in first unit was right next to street and VERY noisy due to old type of windows and heavy traffic.It also had stained carpet and limited kitchen supplies but did have beautiful paintings on walls.
The second unit was much brighter and bedroom faced ocean ,which was great in the mornings.
Family really enjoyed the outside grill and great views of sea life in several natural tide pools.Seemed to be a favorite place for the turtles.
Over all experience was good."

"Noisy, dirty, old kitchen, old bath, terrible linen. Even the bedding and pillows smelt bad. It smelts like the bed spreads have never been washed and they were filthy...gross!!! Our experience at this property was an overall horrible one and we vow to never stay here again!!!! I WOULD NOT EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE"

"We booked our stay very reluctantly based on all the negative comments people made. We got a awsome room and it was just amazing. We could see the shoreline and you could literally see Sea Turtles as well as tropical fish right from our large patio.The surf in that location is some of best on island and we watched surfers everyday and two different weekends there was even a surf contest straight out from us,We also could sit on patio and watch the superb sunsets everyday,WOW just a treat.our room had two bathrooms a full kitchen and a separate bedroom and a living room with internet,The room was CLEAN and very spacious,We was so pleasantly surprised. We will definitely will target returning here on our next visit,And I suggest you do too . The best rooms are the ocean front so pay the little extra and you cant go wrong , ALOHA"
