"We enjoyed our stay at the Ka'anapali Beach Club Resort. Mostly everything was perfect. The location was perfect and the room was huge. Upon arriving I tried really hard to get a renovated room, but had no luck. I was very persistent and the lady at the front desk seemed to be a little irritated by my request. We rarely get to go on vacation like this and it was my family's first time to Hawaii. Prior to our stay I researched the hotels a lot and read so many reviews that suggested trying to stay in a renovated room. I even emailed ahead of time to try request a renovated room. All in all the non-renovated room was good, the pull out sofa bed was horrible but they brought in 2 roll away beds and the TV in our room turned off and on every two minutes. When we called the front desk they had a new TV in our room within 2 hours. Although the beach was steps from the resort, unfortunately it was very rocky and not a good swimming beach for the kids."

"The Good- The value is exceptional. You get a 1 BR 1 Bath unit that is spacious. The location is also exceptional if you plan to investigate the island's west and south coasts. You are at a midpoint with the highway just a few minutes away. The Bad- no beach. This could change by the season but when we were there, 1st week of October, there was no true beach. The tide came up almost to the sand dunes leaving little 'play' space. It was kind of scary to even try a little snorkeling there. Best enjoyed with a beach chair and a cocktail watching the sunset. Good and bad- pool, pool, pool ! The pool is beautifully located on the beach so you get wonderful ocean breezes. The bad is that children are permitted in this beautiful area and they make lots of noise. always screaming and hollering. Some notes: This is a time share hotel trying to be a resort. They will want to sell you a share of the place. We rented our week from an owner and our partial ocean view unit was wonderful and the valet parking was comp'd! However, if you get a mountain view unit you may get the standard view of the parking lot ... so what? If it is your 1st trip to Maui you will not be spending any time within your unit anyway! That is why I consider the Kaanapali Beach Club a great find for the couple who intend to see the island and not the bedroom. Another mention is that this location is not on the true stretch of Kaanapali Beach. You are located on North Kaanapali Beach and you will want to drive or bus or cab ride to the activities on THE Kaanapali Beach and the shopping at Whaler's. We found the bus ride to be convenient and dependable. The bus stop is right outside the front door. To get to Lahaina, and this is a must do, drive or cab. Avoid if it is Halloween!
Summary- The 1 BR unit at the Kaanapali Beach Club is a great value. I recommend for 2 adults who don't mind sharing a spacious bathroom. It is a great location for investigating all that the West Coast of Maui has to offer, and that is a lot. The kitchenette area provides plenty of space with a full size frig and a microwave and sink and counter top. An ideal arrangement for preparing breakfasts and lunches for your days on the road and for reheating take out dinners when you get back. You will appreciate the valet parking when you get back tired, hungry, and near heat prostration after a day exploring the many beaches of the West Side of Maui Good luck!"

"We visited Maui in May 2012.

Pro's- cost, cleanliness, and location. We spent about $200 night on this room, which was very reasonable. The cleaning staff did an excellent job with our daily room clean up.
Con's- One pool area (Some resorts have several), the beach is not as inviting as other hotel's in the area. The hotel doesn't feel 'resort-like', it feels 'hotel-like'.

If you plan on spending your time exploring the island, this is a great hotel to rest your head at night. They keep very clean grounds, and rooms. If you are looking for a resort to keep you occupied, this isn't the place to be. Again, it's nice, but there is only one pool, and not much 'resort exploring' to do. Overall, our stay was nice."

"The staff was very friendly and infomative. They gave us Kamaina rates on all the food we purchased at the resort. The breakfast buffet was awesome and the chef making the omeletes was very entertaining. The pool area was a bit crowded but we had lots of fun. It rained off and on while we were there so the floors outside of the elevator were slippery and wet. My husband and grandaughter both fell in the same when exiting the elevator on the 5th floor. nn We played miniature golf and it started to drizzle. My other grandaughter slipped and fell when she tried to come into the resort. I would suggest that maybe some outdoor carpets could be put in to prevent these falls and injuries that may occur in the future.nnAnthony from the acitivity center was great. He was so friendly and informative. There was lots of parking and the front desk gave us a late check out. Other than the slippery tiles and the falls we had, we had a great time. "
