I travel often to Honolulu for work and when the day is done all you want to do is relax. This is a very quiet but busy hotel. They provide Hotel service that has to be rated as EXCELLENT! I don't like to spend a lot of money while on business and these guys are priced just right! I am so please to deal with smaller hotels that provide BIG HOTEL SERVICE!

I was impressed with the hotel for the price and the staff was also very helpful. We only needed one night since we were a cruise the following day. Sorry we did not stay two nights. The location was a little more than 2 blocks from Waikiki beach. The painting on the outside of the elevator doors made you feel as if you were outside. Our room had the river and a golf course on one side, yes traffic but we did not find that the noise bothered us at all. We arrive around 1 PM and had a 2:30 ... Read more

It is about 3 blocks from Waikiki but a nice view of the canal. The rooms are not fancy but comfortable and have a small refrigerator and freezer. The pools is great and it has a Jacuzzi. You can even bring in your own food and drink but no glass. The bar is more like a local bar and has a daily happy hour. All the staff are friendly and make a good drink. Two restaurants on property, ate at both and both were good. The lobster mac and cheese is yummy. The other restaurant is a wine bar ... Read more

The Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel is one of the rare offerings in Waikiki where there is no added resort fee through your stay. As this price can differ substantially from hotel to hotel, it's certainly a bonus that you aren't paying additional money to stay here. On Ala Wai Boulevard, the Hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, and to all the sights on the Waikiki strip. If you're situated at the back of the hotel, it's certainly a lot quieter than it is at the front, so make sure you're asking... Read more

We stayed here over New Years Eve and had an amazing time! We were expecting to get what you pay for, as this was one of the cheaper hotels in Waikiki but we found this hotel excellent value for money! The rooms were nice, clean and spacious and we even had the extended balcony as we were on the corner, it was excellent. We used the pool and hot tub once and it was really nice as there was nobody there! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful! 10 minute walk to Waikiki beach tops!! We ... Read more

We disconnected the electric plug (yes electric in a bathroom) and felt safer having done so. There were coupons in the room for discounts for breakfast 15% off and also for luncheon and dinner in the Wood and Bucket Tapas bar and grill. I did a lot of homework before choosing Sand Villa. In the end I chose it because NZ friends stay there every year and recommended it. It is Japanese owned and therefore some things were not familiar, e.g. the "bidet" style toilet!! and the buffet breakfast definitely favours Asian breakfast tastes. But try the bar in the evenings - it is frequented by hard case locals! everything is immaculate and spotlessly clean, the reception staff friendly and helpful. as a female travelling alone I felt se...
