"The Modern was an excellent place to stay! Staff was very accommodating, anything we needed the front desk was able to provide. No need for a car rental, the hotel is literally a 5 minute walk away from everything. They have two pools one is adult only but there is 8 inches of water so it's not for swimming. If you walk to the beach make sure you have swim shoes the shore is VERY rocky. Rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are very nice. If you can afford it get an ocean view room get it the city view is nothing but other hotel rooms. ABC stores are everywhere so if you need anything small get it from there, the prices are more reasonable."

"The hotel was fantastic. As the name suggests everything throughout the hotel was very modern and the room was gorgeous. We had a partial ocean view room on the 12th floor and honestly, it was the best hotel we have stayed in, in all our travels over the past ten years. We couldnt fault it at all. "I am a very picky person whrn it comes to hotel rentals. I rented this as a mystery hotel.Sometimes when you look at the pictures of hotels, they seem to be really nice but you may be somewhat disappointed when you actually arrive there. The hotel fufilled all my expectations and dreams. the whole place was exotic and very comfortable. There was a tub in the room my husband and I stayed in and although there are louvered shutters in the bathroom they can be closed(smile). This hotel was very close to the downtown action and multiple eateries. We saw a live taping of Hawaii Five-O while at the Wakiki shopping center. I highly recommend the hotel and the staff was extremely friendly,including the fast parking attendants."

"The staff was amazing! Never in my travels have I encountered an entire staff of people (Mostly 20 something's) who actually cared and did EXACTLY what they said they would do without an ounce of attitude!
Also the hotel sends you an e mail upon check in that allows you to send anything you want or need (Ironically called Ineed) directly to the staff, book any treatments 24/7 and several other amenities like ipod or ipad ! LOVED that! You can even customize your mini bar!"

"I booked this trip as part of a last minute package and was very impressed with this Hotel--from the design and details right down to the staff. Everyone including the valet guys, front desk and concierge were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our 5 night stay. We were situated on the top floor with a gorgeous ocean view with the balcony facing the marina. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to chill and relax in Waikiki, and would go so far to say that this may be the nicest hotel I have stayed at. I have had the opportunity to stay at many hotels around the world and would have to say that this hotel made me feel extremely comfortable. If I had to really critique it in a nit picky sort of way the only thing I would say is that there is not a ton of privacy in the bathroom, as there are wooden lovers that separate the bathroom from the main and that there is no tub. (sorry I am a tub person).

I would also like to give a special shout out to the concierge who was super duper nice to us and became like a friend on the trip!"

"The hotel was part of a package deal, and although I had never stayed there before, it definitely lived up to its description. Very modern, and although I am 77, I felt it to be very comfortable. It was convenient to the beach and shopping and dining. The staff were completely helpful and friendly and I felt very welcomed. Although it is a small hotel as someone else said, it gives the appearance of being much larger than it is and it definitely felt like a very upscale hotel and is in a class similar to the Hilton or the Ilikai Hotel. I hope I get an opportunity to stay there again and I highly recommend it to everyone."

"If you like the feel and aesthetic of boutique hotels, you are sure to enjoy the edition. The Hotel is one of the smaller hotels in Waikiki compared with the Hawaii Hilton village next door, it has a more upscale feel and a friendly knowledgeable staff to match. The only negative - long wait at the pool for drinks and food (although the food was good quality- the kitchen needs to pick up the speed). Overall I would stay at this hotel again."

"The Modern is a BEAUTIFUL Hotel, this design is contemporary and refreshing to enter into from the Hawaii heat. Our room had majestic view of Diamond Head and the Pacific Ocean. As well, the room was clean and spacious, decorated tastefully. Room service was prompt and courteous, and the staff at the front desk were always well informed.

A front desk service clerk by the name Gabrielle, went above and beyond to help meet our needs when booking dates needed to be adjusted.

Similarly, the female representative at the front door always had a beautiful smile to greet you when you arrived and exited the hotel.

Fully recommended this hotel, I will definitely return to this location on future trips."
