Wonderful staff that was cheerful and well-trained. The Italian restaurant Arancino is amazing--unique and creative approach from drinks through appetizers, entrees, and desserts. One of the best hotel restaurants we have ever enjoyed. Breakfast buffet made everyone in the family happy. Luxurious rooms. Short drive to Waikiki.

Returning after 2 years one thing that hasn't change is the exceptional service and greeting at check in. You really are made to feel welcome including the children. The resort is very expensive especially for the suites, however the quality is exceptional. There are many many positives about The Kahala including the location as you feel you could be anywhere with the convenience of being only 15 mins out of Waikiki. Two years ago what we found disappointing was the buffet breakfast ie the ... Read more

We stayed at the Resort about five years ago in a "Scenic View" room, the lowest price category. The room was large and the view was pleasant, overlooking the golf course looking toward the mountains. This time, traveling with our college student daughter and my mother, we booked a Scenic View room AND a dolphin lagoon room. My mother and daughter gor a room on the second floor of the dolphin lagoon wing with killer views of both the dolphin habitat AND the ocean beyond. The Resort kindly ... Read more

We went to Oahu to both elope and to enjoy our week long honeymoon at The Kahala. This place is five stars on all fronts. I have stayed at a lot of nice hotels and resorts and The Kahala tops them all. You are greeted by name during your entire stay, shown genuine hospitality, and treated like you're the only guest at the property. We were fortunate enough to have a Jeep during our stay, so we explored the entire island, in closing Waikiki. Every time we ventured to another hotel for a meal or d... Read more

This is a hotel that should not be missed, as it really makes your trip to Hawaii incredibly special & magical. The Kahala, has the most accommodating staff, each & every restaurant & lounge was fantastic. What an outstanding property that is so well manicured in each & every way! Recommend this hotel for your stay in Honolulu. It is in a quiet neighborhood, away from the hustle/bustle of the madhouse of Waikiki. Pleased with the service & location/ property. One disadvantage is that you are limited to their dining choices. We were happy to find some reasonably priced tours from the concierge. Transportation, like everything in HI is very expensive...it's a good way to see the island.

The Kahala was a pleasure to stay at. The service and people are top notch all over the resort. If you are looking for a polished resort where they call you by name and want a seamless experience, then the Kahala is a great option. As with all top resorts, it is expensive, but the value is there.

The hotel was so clean. The restaurants were terrific. Breakfast (waffles with coconut syrup) was AMAZING!!! The private beach was a great, safe place to swim and play! The scenery was amazing! We spent 5 days at Kahala during our Hawaiian trip. Hotel is really nice and in a good location in Oahu to relax. It is 5min drive from Waikiki beach, with private beach, pool and a lagoon in the middle of the hotel with 4 dolphins. It was nice, but I have to confess that I was kind of disturbed to see those animals trapped in a small lagoon... At the beach area it is possible to rent a SUP, kayak... Having stayed exclusively at several Four Seasons over the past years, I would say my experience at the Kahala met or exceeded the service I received there which I thought was the pinnacle of hospitality. It was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, and the nice sandy beaches, which were only a walk away, felt at times as secluded as a beach could get on busy Oahu. Paradise is the best word to describe this place. Where to start. They treat you like royalty as soon as you arrive. The hotel is in a great area of housing all valued between 1m and 35m or so im told, it feels safe and sophisticated. It's not in Waikiki, it's in a quieter area and that's what appealed to us. This resort is not perfect by any means, but it has a sense of place and pride that you just cannot simply put into words. The staff at the Kahala has that sense of pride. From the valet, bell staff, front desk, beach activities and managers all want to make sure you are welcome in this place of refuge. I even witnessed a manager park a car when the valets were backed up. You really feel welcomed and get a sense of pride in this lovely place. The rooms we received facing the Dolphin Lagoon were... If you have read my reviews, you know that we frequent the islands a couple times per year, have stayed at most of the premiere hotels over the years and that I'm somewhat discerning when it comes to where I choose to stay during my Hawaii visits. In a nutshell, I'm picky and I like five star properties. The Kahala not only delivered on my expectations, but went above and beyond and we will choose to stay at the Kahala whenever we find ourselves on Oahu. I wouldn't say Kahala is five star, bu... My husband and I took a trip to the Kahala for our one-year anniversary. As usual, everyone there was wonderfully helpful, the scenery was unbelievable, and the dolphins were a source of endless entertainment. This time, we decided to schedule a beach shoot with Julia at Pacific Dream Photography--to document our anniversary. She's completely lovely--very nice, very articulate, great at giving directions, and she has a great eye. We asked for action shots that featured the beautiful landscape an... Read more

My family and I recently spent time at the Kahala. It was an extremely positive experience from the moment we stepped out of the car. The property itself is hidden in a residential area right on the beach. The grounds are beautiful and immaculate. Every member of the staff is warm, helpful and engaging. The rooms are spacious, nicley decorated and very comfortable. The restaurants are quite good. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and the people who make it so special. One of the b... BEFORE WE GET TO MY REVIEW. I just wanna say, that if you're traveling with more than two people and plan on eating at the hotel. the prices are insane. and not the good insane. If you're trying to save a bit of money on your Hawaii Vacation, you should probably stay away from this hotel. Now Staying at the Kahala Hotel and Resort was amazing! I loved every bit of it!! When we arrived it was about midnight, and I'd say that's the best time to check in because Wilson at the front desk is so kind... Read more

We stayed at Kahala resort from July 9 to 13 with our family of 5. We arrived at night and check in did not go well as the rooms we booked were not available and we had to split between several floors and get roll away beds. Tyler did not do a good job dealing with the situation at all. However, management response to my complaint was outstanding and we were eventually moved and even upgraded two days later. The rooms were large and the bath room outstanding (heated toilet cover). We had great ... Read more

The resort is beautiful. The valet and front desk folks spot on. The room was very nice. Housekeeping and room service top notch. Stunning beach, nice pool. The pool boys were very good, especially the older gentleman! The only downside to everything was the service around the pool and the cabanas. We paid to have the tented cabana for whole day, $115. The wait staff came on duty at 11am and we were the only cabana being used at the time. We watched as 3 wait staff just stood around u... Read more

The staff is what makes the Kahala top notch- service was exceptional from the moment we arrived to the day we sadly departed. Everyone, at all times, made us feel welcome and taken care of. While most hotels offer good service, the Kahala staff seemed to genuinely care, a perfect example being this- while riding in the elevator, we were chatting with a staff member who said, with complete honestly, 'thank you so much for staying with us, we appreciate it" and it came from the heart. They really... Read more

Aloha. We booked a family package with breakfast for 4 night. We were upgraded to ocean front view just steps from the beach for celebrating our anniversary. The staff were friendly, and the ocean view was amazing. I ?? this hotel!!. The only recommendation is to provide more varieties in the buffe breakfast, but over all I highly recommend this hotel if you want to relax and enjoy a wounderful beach. Thank you for making our trip as a wonderful experience.
