"We stayed in The Equus. It's quite confusing to figure out which is which since our booking simply said The Equus and Marina Tower so I was under the impression that I could request for the Marina Tower for the view since so many people suggested it but we couldn't. We knew we would be getting in before our check in time and alerted the staff members before we arrived but we ended up getting there about an hour earlier because our flight was quick so our check in was extra early. Fortunately, the staff were very accommodating and were able to get is checked in by 1:00pm.

The room was surprisingly clean and nice. We loved the street view even if it wasn't very high and the bed was so comfy! The room itself was great and I would enjoy staying there again if we needed to. The only thing that bothered me was that the staff didn't clean up very well. When making the beds, they didn't tuck everything in but simply flopped in back on top and the drinking glasses weren't replaced and there wasn't anything to wash them with so that was a bit frustrating. We ended up getting water bottles and canned juice to avoid having to use the dirty cups.

Overall, for the price we booked for the room and the duration of the stay, it was fine. We didn't plan to be in the room a lot so it was sufficient to just come back and sleep. It was noisy being so close to the roads and all but we slept right through it after being so tired day after day.

The bed is equal or better than any of the 5 Star hotels I've stayed in on my trips.
The chest of drawers is the worst I have ever used. The shower is on the small side. You could use a towel bar above the sink"

"The Eques Hotel is not recommended. When we arrived after a long flight, they gave us a room that had bugs and cockroaches on the walls, in the bath room and kitchen.The staff moved us to another room, that had a great view but no drawers to put our clothes in. After being there a few nights, we noticed the sheets we're not being changed for more than 3 days, the bed was fixed sloppy each day.One night I removed the sheets so they would be changed, instead the room was not even serviced. After informing the front desk, they said the do not disturb sign was left out, which was not the truth.
I do not recommend this hotel. It's is far from downtown, the room had bugs and cockroaches in them and the maid was lazy. The best thing was the view on the 37th floor on the tower.

"Our first time in Oahu and we were amazed of the view we had from our 21st story room in the Marina Tower. Unfortunately, the second night we had to switch rooms due to it being infested by roaches. We we moved to the The Equus, clean room, but no view and more street noise. Overall the customer service was good. They helped move us to the other room promptly and took care of all the paperwork. If we had a choice of hotels to go back to the The Equus would not be our first choice."

"First I was flying to Hawaii to meet my frist granddaughter last minute my Mother decided she wanted to come so she could meet her great grand child . We had to have added a roll away bed And added in the email what a great thing it was that my mother could join us.. We arrived early we were checked right in great with amazing fruit drinks. The lady at the front desk was a RAY OF SUNSHINE. Every time i went into lobby i was greeted with a beautiful smile. We didn't use the parking garage but i needed a space for one night for my son's car so we could all travel together to paradise cove. Went in and my Ray of Sunshine said not problem gave me the spot. And when i returned the key She remembered where i was going and asked how it was. To me that is perfect customer service ... Now for the room Clean everything we needed . Our cleaning staff was so nice. There wasn't one person on staff that wasn't so sweet I can guarantee that next June when we fly our for my Granddaughters first Birthday I will be staying here... One more note I was traveling with my mother who is a Senior and my 12 year old daughter and not once did i not feel safe.. And again that is was very important. All i can say is thank you Staff of Equus marine towers for an amazing stay and experiences..This was a very special trip for my family I got to meet my perfect new grand baby but the hotel i was staying in remembered why my family was there and made our stay perfect..."

"The Equus was exactly what I expected: Good value, close to the beach (though not on it) and close to major attractions/tourist locations. My 5's ratings are for value, cleanliness, staff efficiency and friendliness.

I'm only giving 3's because of the road noise. The hotel is in on a major/busy road. I'm a light sleeper and even with ear-plugs there were a couple of nights (one due to road work) where it was very hard not to hear the noise. I didn't spend much time in my room, but when I did, it was very noisy."
