"When we stayed here a couple of years ago, (This is our 4th of 5th visit) I wasn't impressed. The room was run down and very small. Was reluctant to book this time, but the value was good so gave it a chance. Got one of our favorite rooms, everything looked fresh and clean, I believe the furniture might even be new. The staff was friendly and efficient. Locked myself out of the room save once and they were there very quickly to fix it. The only thing I have to complain about is the resort fee of about $24 per room per day which sort of offsets the good price of the room. It covers a few amenities, but the only benefit we received was two bottles of water per day. Makes the water $12 each. Kind of a rip off."

We needed to be moved to a different room due to noise after 11pm --1;30
Fore 2 nights in a row ,on the 3rd night they moved us within 15 min. we where happy. frig was defrosting ; sink stopper was broken ,which they repaired.
Bathroom floor dirty. bed was great. ORANGES and apples water at the beach
was good but not fore a $20 aday resort fee. Lobby ,internet , enteraniment
all good"

"I have read on many different sites about how awful this hotel is. I have stayed in bad and good hotels in Waikiki. While it is not Hilton Hawaiian Village or Trump quality, it is hardly Motel 6 quality either.
It is highly above mediocre quality. While there are a few things here and there to complain about, it did not ruin the vacation. The hotel is being upgraded, room by room, but the rooms are very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The beds are very plush.
The parking is in the back, with only steps in parking garage, so you have to walk down a few flights of stairs to get to the lobby walk way.
The buffet is a bit over priced. The pool is not heated, so it is cold. Small things like this.
But it is a safe, family friendly environment. The hotel does small touches that are amazing. They put up small quilts in the elevator that say good morning, good afternoon, or good evening, three times a day. And the elevators are fast.
The resort fee costs 20 a day, which includes parking, two free bottled waters, and other things. Parking in Waikiki at some hotels average $25, so it is already a good deal.
While in the title it calls itself a resort. Again, I would not put it in the same range as the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It would call it a tapered down version. But at the same time, it costs a LOT LESS. And you are DEFINITELY getting your money's worth here.
And the workers are exceptional. Upon check in, I tried to get a room upgrade, by slipping the reservation counter person a $20. He upgraded me, and smiled and gave my $20 back, saying he did not want to accept it.
And our upgrade was a room overlooking the pool. And at 6-11 pm, we were serenaded to different hawaiian bands, performing on the pool stage. It was amazingly relaxing!
Again, it's not a HUGE resort. But it is very nice, comfortable, and actually a piece of Hawaiian History.
I would stay here again in a heart beat! I just wish more hotels in Waikiki were of this standard!"

"My family and I had a great experience here. The staff were friendly and more than helpful. The pool and services when you go to the beach are awesome. The activiities including lei making, bracelet making, pineapple eating, hula lessons etc are fanatastic for the kids. Food in restaurant was excellent. My only gripe is the room. Location was great but the rooms need a little up keep. Our toilet kept blocking, the cupboard door wouldnt open and kept jamming. The decor is old, Shower and bath are old.We had no clothes line inside as like other rooms. The bed was awesome though and I had a great night sleep every night. The entertainment at night was outstanding and when I was stuck inside my room with a sick infant I was able to be entertained by the great band and hula girl. Excellent stay and great location."

"We have stayed here several times before, and the service and cleanliness were very good, as we expected. I also expected this to be a small room because we booked it on a special, but I have had larger rooms on a cruise!! It was really small.

Also, the decor is getting a little shabby. There was a huge crack in the bathroom sink, the lampshades were cracked, the drapes had big splotches where the insulation had fallen off, there was rust around the bathtub drain, and the top of the safe had some wierd, unidentifiable stains on it."
