Take the H-1 Freeway East Honolulu Exit. Remain on the H-1 Freeway headed East for approximately 10 miles. Take Exit 25A (King Street Exit) located on the right side of the freeway. Once off the freeway, you will come to a 4-way intersection. Proceed straight through the intersection (Chevron Gas Station & Foodland Supermarket will be to your right). Stay in the right lane; this lane is a right turn only and will take you to Kapahulu Avenue. You will remain on Kapahulu Avenue for approximately 2 miles. Pass through the intersection of Kapahulu Avenue and Kuhio Avenue, pass Cartwright Road which is a one way street, make a right turn on the second road called Lemon Road. The entrance to the parking lot will be located on your right. You will see the ramp to the parking entrance, take the ramp down into the parking lot. If you require assistance from the hotel`s bell staff, stay on Lemon Road, take the ramp up towards the bell station.

"First time in honolulu and the hotel is located in a convenient area and not right in the middle of the strip. There are a few homeless people around the area. We had a room on the 14th floor city view. Noisy but that's the city for you. If you want a nice quiet resort this isn't the place for you. Staff were friendly but the valet parking is way over priced since you can find free parking in the area. would stay there again."

"hotel queen kapiolani is a lovely hotel. we were delighted with our room. though small, the view was exceptional. full view of diamond head and great ocean view as well. also had a balcony and choice of fresh air in the room if wanted. lovely personnel. very conviently located and located next to park so can walk or jog etc. will stay there again"

"We love the Queen! We stay here as a family while visiting local family members in Honolulu. The hotel staff are wonderful, very quick to make sure things are just right. The in-progress rehab of the hotel is progressing beautifully and we like to see all the new changes as they happen. The elevators are quick and efficient now, having been rehabbed since our summer 2012 stay. This was a quick trip for a family funeral - only 4 days, but many of the staff remembered us from the summer stay and all were very anxious to make us comfortable. Efficient front desk area, professional staff, and friendly people. Love the location and it has the most spectacular view of Diamond Head from the pool deck. Breakfast buffet was very nice by the pool. The stone terrace there is a favorite for afternoon family gathering for pupus and drinks by the pool to debrief on the day's happenings. We walk in the morning with coffee to the beach just a block or so away. All in all, a terrific value, a friendly place and a great location. You can't go wrong with the Queen!"

"Nice hotel, friendly staff. The hotel does not provide any room service at all, they have a breakfast buffet you can attend for $10-$15 dollars, but the food wasnt anything special. Light sleepers beware, there are not real windows in this hotel, only slate windows which allows the outside air to blow in. This is great except when your trying to sleep and the wind is blowing so hard that its howling all night through the slates. Our hotel room door did not go all the way to the floor so we heard every word and slamming door in the hallway. Lastly, there is no parking around the hotel except for meter parking. The hotel will ONLY valet your car and they charge you twenty dollars ($20) a night to park there. The room was decent, but we kept finding other people hair everywhere which was kind of gross. We had a nice vacation outside of these few mishaps, but we probably wouldnt stay there again if we had a choice."

"The valet staff, front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance staff were very friendly and efficient. I was on the 12th floor City View with 2 double beds. Room clean, beds comfy, lanai breeze great. Used the service elevator and front elevator when not too busy since renovations to elevators on-going. There are small imperfections in the bathrm and air unit however the price and location are excellent. Afterall when in Hawaii why stay in your hotel room other than to sleep?!?! Swimming pool somewhat small and sun deck large, nice paradise feel to it. Sorry to say the food and food service staff were not that great however hotel close to all types of eating places. Shop till you drop, Waikiki beach 1 block, relaxed in lobby breeze way, outside shower rinse off excellent."

"The location is fabulous, 1 block to the beach. Even after remodel, the place will never be a 5 star place, but it was clean, the rooms pretty large and the front rooms have a great view of Diamond Head. The pool area is private with a view of Diamond Head."

"I stayed at this hotel recently , forgot a purse in my room after checkout. Staff let me in the room but it was cleaned- the purse was gone! The only people in the room was staff so it was either stolen or thrown away. I would like to think if anyone saw a piece of luggage or a bag they would put it in lost and found or return it to the front desk but it wasn't! The staff were not very helpful- housekeeping closed at 4 pm so a manager had to get access to the lost and found and I was not able to look in it for myself!"

"Room was reasonably fit for our overnight stay. We asked to upgrade to 2 double beds and were able to without paying an extra fee. We had a partial view of the beach, but overall ok. The water temperature in the shower fluctuated from hot to cold. The only major complaint would be the air conditioning. The room didn't seem to get cold enough, but still decently cool."

"This hotel is terrible all around. For the price you're paying to stay at a hawaii hotel, you don't want to stay here! The room we first initially received was super tiny with small twin beds, then we asked to get a single bed room, we were moved to a small room with a full size bed. the room was so small our 3 luggages didn't even fit the room. the service also is terrible, none of the staff was willing to help us until I got angry and demanded to see the manager. There was mold inside the lamp shade and mold on the ceiling. The AC unit was noisy the toilet doesn't flush well. The bed was not comfortable at all. They can't even use fitted bedsheets, so when I woke up, i was sleeping on the naked mattress. "

"On arrival at the hotel we were allocated a Diamond Head view room on the 6th. floor. The first night however we hardly slept as the wall of the room was also the wall of lift well of the noisiest lift in creation. Next day we asked to be moved and were subsequently moved to the 18th. floor to a partial ocean view room far away from the lift and with a great view. Having hired a car we used the zoo car park opposite instead of trying to put the car in the hotel car park that is ludicrously small. These are the only downers. The position of the hotel in relation to the beach, bus stops, ABC Shops and eating is excellent and you are far enough away from the general hubbub of Waikiki to be able to relax. I would return if I could ensure a room away from the lift."
