The room was clean and nice. Close to shops and bus stops right outside. Wallmart is just up the road. Staff was friendly and helpful. Had pool and restaurant that looks over a japense like garden. The price was reasonable and the food good. Felt very safe walking around the streets.

Last minute trip to HNL due to family emergency. Always wanted to stay at the Pagoda ever since I was a youngster growing up in Central Oahu. We would come into town to eat at the Floating Restaurant and admire the koi. Hotel experience was beyond what I had expected. Location -location-location! Nice, central, close to Ala Moana and beaches, main thoroughfares. Walmart, Don Quixote, Ross - fun shopping! Many yummy eateries close by. Courteous and genuinely aloha staff. Appreciated the low... If you're from the neighbor islands, you've probably stayed at the Pagoda and know what you're getting. A comfortable, no frills, old but well kept place to stay in a great location. Some things can be irritating, like light bulbs with no cover and an oddly designed entryway that requires you to step into the bathroom when opening the main door. But the bed is comfortable, there is a mini kitchenette in the room, and the room was clean. We had parking across the street in the same parking st... Read more

We had 8 adults in our group flying to Honolulu to go on a cruise, and we stayed at the Pagoda Hotel the night before the cruise. We were able to book just 2 rooms for the 8 adults. The hotel was very reasonable compared to many others we checked, and the rooms worked well for 4 adults in each room. I think the beds were doubles instead of queens, but that was fine with us. The hotel and rooms were not fancy or new, but we didn't expect that for budget prices. The rooms and bathrooms were v... Read more

Nice staff, very friendly people, tacky hotel. My room smelled bad. Dark hall ways, dirty carpets. Not worth the money I paid for a room. I would not stay there again. That's all I can really say about it.

Not a usual 5 star hotel, but serves the purpose, 4 of our friends stayed in a 2 bedroom room, linen is clean and bathroom, the thing I liked about the hotel the room didn't have any smell, and I cooked, next to Walmart, stores and if you are young and can walk, 10 to 15 min walk to Waikiki ???

We stayed at this place in June 2016, Never again will we put our foot inside this hotel. We had the nasty experience of bed bugs. Our room was infested and management do not want to know about the issue, other than say how sorry they are. Security where called to the room to inspect and take photo's of these nasty critters in the bed and the bites (see photo). Security acknowledged that they were aware of the infestations, and admitted to receiving other complaints from hotel guests.... Read more

The lobby are has been updated. Looks much brighter and more modern now. Use of the elevator is restricted to guests with a key. The rooms have also been updated and are cleaner & the bed is much more comfortable. There us also very good high speed wi-fi that was included in the price. There are great restaurants nearby, wal-green's, Wal-mart, Sam's Club & Ala Moana Shopping Center are all very close.

Stayed one night in Jan before continuing our trip to Kona. Very friendly front desk staff. Room were clean and big but walls are a bit thin. We can hear everything. The best part about this hotel is the location. I am glad to have finally picked this hotel. Restaurants, outlet, mall, supermarket, fast food are very nearby the hotel. Would recommend to friends.

The personnel at the hotel reception were quite friendly and very helpful. Check in and check out was done effortlessly. Worthy of mention is one of the staff at the reception (Carlos Acob). He was always ready to answer all questions and provided useful tips on how to get round town and visit places of interest at affordable rates. Also in-room wifi is super and free!

We recently stayed at the Pagoda last week. We used to stay here when I was a young child. I'm now older with my own family. When entering the property I felt so safe. There was so much aloha from the staff. The guess there was smiling having a good time. The surrounding area on both sides felt safe too. Our rooms was great! The bed was very comfy and overall the room was clean. I will most definitely stay here in the future. I stayed at other hotels in near by areas and felt very unsafe but no... Read more

We frequent this hotel for events and occasional stays in that area. Although it is dated the staff are full of Aloha and the food is exquisite! I have been to many seminars and educational sessions on property and the staff are always very helpful, the property is very well-equipped and the food is very memorable! This hotel also helps American Red Cross clients who are displaced from their homes and the staff go out of their way to make sure these people who are in shock feel comfortable.

My grandson joined me for a week's stay during July 4th & thoroughly enjoyed it. Arrived early morning and Bill cheerfully kept our bags while passing time for a room, he was kind enough to give my grandson a bag of fish pellets to feed the koi @ their floating restaurant which sits above a large pool surrounded by a Japanese garden...very relaxing! We were lucky to finally get a room around 11:00. The room suited our needs and had a couple of twin beds, tv, micro, fridge, coffee/tea pot, safe..... Read more

Only needed 1 night in Honolulu because I was traveling to another country and wasn't interested in staying at the airport properties. Pagoda is located just a few blocks from the Magic Island, Ala Moana Mall, WalMart, Sam's and Walgreens. In just the few short hours I was there, I went to everyone of these. Friendly front desk personnel, cold AC and that's it! As soon as I exited the elevator on the 7th floor, there was an odor that was similar to a skilled nursing facility. My room number was 763 and it was dated. There was a stain on the popcorn ceiling right above one of the beds. The stain was yellow. The shower curtain had mildew on it and a hair band was hanging on one of the curtain hooks. There was a stain on the accent pillow. At 5:30 am the next morning the garbage truck was heard loud an... The Pagoda Hotel in Honolulu is walking distance from the Ala Moana mall and it is also surrounded by a lot of restaurants nearby. It is a great location! The hotel uses a multi-level parking structure across the hotel (connected to Ross) and there is ample parking. We stayed during the Christmas break and the room price was at peak season. The hotel is old and adequately maintained. The guest room uses window A/C unit (which needed cleaning badly - moldy), the tub was painted over! The bathroom... Read more

The hotel was definitely vintage. The staff were great though and the room clean. We where close to the beach, a huge mall and a 24 hour Walmart. There was plenty of parking and the price fit our budget wonderfully. I would staff here again.

Have stayed in the hotel before about 6 years ago. It was terrible. This time, I was surprised how different it was. Their pool area was very nice, the staff was extremely friendly and their little store was very nice. The room had a pretty strong smell of spoiled food, as did the fridge (same problem as last time). The air conditioner was newer and there was a rubber strip covering the bottom of the door (other rooms had an inch or more gap). The bathroom looked like it had been remodeled... Read more

I recently stayed at Pagoda Hotel while on a business trip to Oahu. The room itself was simple, yet still had amenities. There was a small refrigerator and a two burner mini stove in the Ron. There is free Wi-Fi access as well. I was given a card to use if I wanted to rent DVDs from the small kiosk downstairs in the lobby, which I did not take advantage of. Parking is across the street in a shared garage with Ross. Hotel patrons must park on the fourth floor or above. Ala Moana Center is a cou... Read more

This hotel was very comfortable, and conveniently located in downtown Honolulu. The staff at the hotel and restaurant were amazing and helpful! Always a smile! Who needs the Marriott or Hilton when you have 5 Star service at the Pagoda? After being out on a 7 month deployment it was nice to just get away! I recommend this hotel to anybody visiting the area who doesn't want to stay at the over priced Waikiki Hotels. Wal Mart, ROSS, and various other stores are within walking distance.

If you are expecting a five star Grand Hyatt or St Regis hotel, this is not the hotel for you. But if you are looking for accomidations close to a major shopping center, a variety of restaurants, outside of but close to Waikiki (which they have a free Waikiki shuttle available for you), check this hotel out. It's affordable and comfortable, not new but nice, and the super staff makes up for all that five star comfort. I have stayed at this hotel several times now and their employees posit... Read more

Found the check in staff just doing the basic without any warmth but efficient. Location is good and room spacious although we found the wall electrical sockets come off the wall when we tried to plug in our appliances (See photo). Very noisy airconditioning and if you are a light sleeper, forget it. Overall, we found the room functional but nothing outstanding.

When they check out Ms Santos left her eye glasses she called the hotel and talked to Alice Pastoral on the front desk and they were able to find and return it to her.
