Via H-1 Freeway: Take H1 East/Waikiki exit. Get off at the Punahou exit. Turn right onto Punahou Street. At the first intersection turn right onto Beretania Street. Get into the far left lane to turn left onto Kalakaua Avenue. Continue on Kalakaua Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn left onto Lili’uokalani (3rd stoplight from International Market place) - the entrance to Pacific Beach Hotel is on your immediate right.

Via Nimitz Highway: From Airport, take Nimitz Highway heading East. Stay on Nimitz, Nimitz eventually becomes Ala Moana Boulevard. Pass Ala Moana Shopping Center on your left. From Ala Moana Blvd, turn right onto Kalakaua Avenue. Continue on Kalakaua Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn left onto Lili’uokalani - the entrance to Pacific Beach Hotel is on your immediate right.

"Great location! literally across the street from beautiful beach. Aquarium is nice, the resturant is a little pricey. Perfect location for shopping, or anything else as it is centrally located in waikiki. Now for the negatives, they charge u a convenience fee for a safe and beech towels that u may or may not use, also there is no mention until u get there and check in. Also the pool and spa are smaller than the ones in my back yard! NO JOKE! Wait actually come to think of it thats the best way to describe them ' A JOKE' 2,000 room hotel with 12,000 gallon pool. WA,WA,WA

WHEN I go back will spend the extra couple $100."

"Pacific Beach hotel does not honor their advertised room upgrades. We paid for partial Ocean View with a promised upgrade to Ocean View. After waiting in a very long check-in line, we found out their ocean view rooms are: 'While standing on the balcony and looking to the right past some buildings, then you may have a view of the ocean'. I asked them to explain what Partial Ocean View category room then meant and the only explanation was that Ocean View rooms were located on a higher floor level. Do NOT EXPECT TO SEE THE OCEAN FROM THIS HOTEL. Staff is unhelpful and rude. We tried to check in our luggage for a few hours before returning home, only to be told that this would be cumbersome as it would take a very long time to reclaim the luggage. Instead of helping us with the luggage the bellman walked away and not to be found. We decided to get a taxi and leave this madhouse ASAP. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY HONOLULU."

"We chose Pacific Beach Hotel after comparing other hotels and because there was a king bed, a higher quality of room, most of the amenities we wanted, location and the overall look of the hotel. This is not what we received!

At check-in we were told our standard king bed room was no longer available and received two double beds and would be charged $20/day extra for the towel service, water bottles, wireless internet, tv and safe usage. After viewing the room which was much lower standards than anticipated with two double beds we would fall out of, we pursued the front desk again to press for a king bed which she managed to find. We were told this was an upgrade however this was what we had booked in the first place, except for it was not ocean-view. All rooms in that portion of the building were ocean-view to the side of the ocean. The air conditioning made the room smell like a smoker's room and that it (a/c) had not been cleaned for quite some time. We kept it off to avoid the smell.

We were given free breakfast buffet vouchers for the inconvenience and after another pressed conversation the $20/day charge was removed and we only paid another $15.71/day for something else that is still not clear to us? The parking was another $25/day! They needs to consider not nickel and diming their clients. The hotel front desk clerks handle the complaints which is unfair. I will probably not book this way again!

We did use the laundry facilities and had to find a maintenance person. We did encounter the long line-ups at the front counter as well; although, the staff handled clients efficiently for the two front desk clerks that were available.

As for location of the hotel, it was fantastic! The hotel is across the street from the beach, shopping all around and the breakfast buffet was delicious with friendly staff to ensure you have everything you need or want. The coffee at the caf� outside was completely enjoyed. The ability to store our luggage in the luggage storage area for the day when we left relieved a lot of travel stress.

Disappointed but made it work with no other option. Alot of other hotel options available for similar price and higher quality."

"Pacific beach hotel was the perfect location. You could walk or catch a bus to most major attractions. The Staff were very helpful, courteous and efficient. The bathrooms were small but the shower pressure and hot water was never ending. The pool area needed some attention though. Pool very small and area was not decorated."

"We chose Pac Beach because we got a good deal . We paid for partial Ocean View for a free upgrade to Ocean View, and when we got to the hotel we found out they had further upgraded us to Ocean Front, which was amazing. It was a great view of the ocean and a relaxing little balcony to sit in the late day sun. The room itself is pretty spacious, but it has some weird quirks, like why is the bathroom tiny but there's all this room on the other side of the bathroom for a vanity area? Why not take that out and make the bathroom bigger?? Also, I thought we had booked a king bed but ended up with two full size beds, but that wasn't a big deal to us. It's also across the street from the beach, not right on the beach, but we were fine with that too. It was very very close, and the beach area was very nice.
The day we checked in, there was a very long line to check in, and some lady complained she had been standing in line for 45 minutes. I don't know if I buy that... we waited maybe 20 minutes. But every time we walked by the front desk, I saw that there was a line there. I don't know if that's just a staffing issue (could they hire more people?) or what, but when we did deal with staff, they were very friendly.
One more thing: this hotel is apparently popular with large groups. We didn't have any problems, but heard some people complaining about loud groups of teenagers on their floors. Perhaps the upgrade to Ocean Front is the reason we avoided that mess?
TIP re the Oceanarium: very expensive (45 bucks for a buffet dinner!!) and not that great. The main attraction here is the Aquarium (which was very cool, especially to my 7 year old cousin) and the crab legs. My family member who loves crab legs got his money worth of food... not sure that I did. I'm glad we went because my cousin LOVED it, but I wouldn't go back. My advice: go there just to check it out, maybe grab a drink at the bar and call it good."

"Our Hotel experience was very good overall. The shower diverter and tub stopper didn't work properly, but well enough. The carpet had a couple of stains, but seemed clean. The staff was very friendly, and when we requested more pillows, housekeeping showed up promptly with warm pillows. Great location, just across the street from the beach! The hotel's Castaway boutique has very nice souvenirs at great prices.

"Hotel was just as advertised, staff was very friendly and the hotel was located in the middle of everything. easy access to shopping, restaurants and the beach. The only thing I would have changed is my tranportation to and from the hotel. If I would have known it was a shuttle service i would have made other arrangements, I was over a hour late to my meeting. the shuttle was late and it stopped to pick up many more guest and i was the last to be dropped off."

"This hotel has a great location, right opposite the beach and right in the tourist precinct. The hotel offered value for money and overall we were happy with our stay.
Some downsides to the hotel were:
- lack of staff at the front desk meaning a long wait for assistance and checkout
- our 3rd floor room was noisy from the street
- the $20 per night resort fee was strange and annoying"
