"I must admit I was a bit apprehensive when I booked. It was much cheaper than what I had anticipated for a waikiki hotel. But all of that doubt was gone the minute we checked in. Location, location, location! Literally 2 blocks from the beach, supermarket across the street, bakery on the corner, bus stops, Denny's next door, and the list goes on and on. Even the local gift shop in the lobby had great prices compared to others outside.
The staff is super friendly not just one or two staff members but we had great experiences with all of them even the housekeepers. For the price you can't really go wrong with Miramar. You are in Hawaii so food will be a bit on the expensive side depending where you go. Glad I stayed at the Miramar and used the extra money to eat out and buy gifts and go on tours. Will be back soon."

"While the room was very small, the staff was friendly and helpful.
The location was perfect for our short three-day stay, right next to the International Market, and a short jaunt to Waikiki Beach.
We enjoyed the excursion to Pearl Harbor, set up by the friendly staff.
The pool and bar on the fifth floor was a refreshing change after a day of hiking around."

"Even with the air conditioning off, the room was too cold. Other guests also complained that their room was always too cold. Two ldays before our departure we discovered that our door did not lock when shut from t he outside. Luckily, nothing was stolen.

It looked like there was mold in the bathroom, especially under the saop dish."

"This is one of the best hotel deals in Waikiki--it's on Kuhio so just a few blocks away from the main drag and the beach. Rooms are pretty outdated, but clean. Every hotel is insanely expensive in Waikiki area, so for the convenient location, it's a pretty good bang for your buck. It's in walking distance to everything, so I'd say it's a good value. My bed was half sunken in on one side (they gave me a king), so they obviously need to update some of these rooms (both decor is really dated, and obv new beds are needed). I didn't check the pool, but they do have one if that's what you're looking for (though you have the beach, so idk why anyone would want to hang out by the pool)...

NOTE: Ask for a room upgrade or a higher room--might help avoid the construction noises that will wake you up at the crack of dawn (this is EVERYWHERE in Waikiki, so hard to avoid no matter what hotel you're at here)."

"First time to Oahu. Spent second week at Miramar on 14th floor and was fairly impressed. Lobby area is nice. Has an outside elevator if you wish to use it and rooms were bigger than previous hotel we stayed in so appreciated that. Location is great as International Market is right there and across street is Food Pantry for snacks, booze etc. Didnt go to restaurant on 5th floor but pool is on same floor and spent lots of time there. Pool very cold and limited sun hits the area because of location of other tall buildings. Dont get a room near the pool area. Bar patrons and music loud. Could hear it on our floor as we overlooked area. Because of our very late flight, we asked to extend our checkout to 7 pm. They couldnt accomodate us in the room we were in but transferred us to the 18th floor. This is a smoking floor but not a strong smell of smoke and the room was nicer! Also the view was impressive! Would definitely stay there again.

"My wife and I spent 2 nights at the hotel. We never had any hot water. We even tried showering at different times of the day. It looked like they had not finished remodeling our room or if they had finished ,very poor work. Dont waste your time going to the pool bar unless your a local. The bar staff was bad.
Think we will stay elsewhere next visit."

"Just got back from Waikiki, Miramar is a great hotel for the price, located right in the center of really everything, very spacious lobby with some little shops and a nice size cocktail lounge, some nights live entertainment, never tried the restaurant so I can't comment on it. Great pool with afternoon sun, a super pool bar with TV monitors showing your favorite games and for you smokers a smoking area. Rooms do need some updating but are comfortable and clean, nice lanai's too.
I have been going to Hawaii for the last 10 years and have stayed at different hotels and so far this one is the best for me. it's not 5 star but if your not picky and want a comfortable place try the Miramar."
