Directions from the Airport (10 miles � 25 minutes) - Via H-1 Freeway:
- Take the H-1 Freeway East Honolulu on ramp
- Remain on the H-1 Freeway headed East for approximately 10 miles
- Take Exit 25A (King Street Exit) located on the right side of the freeway
- Once off the freeway, there will be a 4-way intersection
- Proceed through the intersection (Chevron Gas Station & Foodland Supermarket will be on the right)
- Get into the right lane. This lane is a �right turn only� and will take you onto Kapahulu Avenue
- Remain on Kapahulu Avenue for approximately 2 miles
- Proceed through the intersection of Kapahulu Avenue and Kuhio Avenue and turn right on Lemon Road. Lemon Road is a one-way street that ends at Paoakalani Avenue
- Turn right on Paoakalani Avenue also a one-way street
- The Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki is located on the right side of the street, on the corner of Paoakalani Avenue and Kuhio Avenue
- To park your vehicle, proceed up the hotel�s driveway and a 24-hour parking valet attendant will assist you with your vehicle

"We stayed here for 6 nights. Front desk staff was great, very friendly! No matter what floor you stay on you will hear traffic noise. We read the reviews to ask for a floor as high as possible but being a downtown city it was still noisy. Room was small but nicely renovated. I would recommend finding a hotel that has microwaves in them. We wasted so much food when we went out to eat because we had no way to re-heat anything at the room. We had an ocean view room that looked thru the other highrise buildings, but we expected that. The hotel had a great location to the zoo, aquarium and the beach. I also recommend buying trolley tickets the pick up location is just down the street and so convenient. The only thing we didnt like was the free breakfast in the morning it was just the same thing every morning. WATCH OUT for the other tourist they are in such a hurry to eat! We literally saw one guy trying to pry the door open so he could get his 'free breakfast' when he saw other people inside (before they were open)."

Thie Hyatt Place provided everything possible to make our stay a positive comfortable experience.
The clean, ample-sized, modern room with a very cushy bed exceeded our epectations. Daily breakfast, was good and convenient, saving us lots of time and $$ each day. Location is great. And lastly, but not least, the staff were always extremely friendly and helpful.
The tip from these reviews that proved to be helpful is that parking across the street in the Banyan lot is only $12/day wih unlimited in and out privledges.
We would definitely stay here again.

"Our first trip to Hawaii we had no idea of what would be a good place to stay so we just randomly picked. Our Hotel Hyatt place was excellent and i would recommend to anyone. Breakfast in the morning was great, rooms where big and clean. Staff were friendly we booked our hire car through them as it was cheaper and even the taxi back to the airport at a $29 Flat rate. "We had an ocean view room on the 15th floor. This great room was very large with two very comfortable queen beds. The staff was superb- everyone was so friendly, courteous and helpful! The location was perfect for us- less than two blocks to the beach, walking distance to most of the downtown attractions, and right by the bus stops for quick and easy transportation. We had a great experience and would recommend this facility to anyone going to Honolulu."

"We had a Full Ocean View room on the 10th floor. The room was small but maybe the king bed made it look that way. The king-sized bed was the best bed we've ever slept on before; memory foam, we believe. The room was always VERY clean, but wasn't cleaned until around 2:00 pm. Our bathroom only had a stand up shower, which was large, but my wife said she would like to have a bathtub to be able to have a soak some evenings. The hot breakfast was excellent. Usually a egg/biscuit/ham sandwich of some type (changed every day) and either waffles, french toast, pancakes (alternated as well). A variety of toasts, pastries, bagels, cereal, fruit, yogurts accompanied the main dish. The eating area was quite breezy in the open areas, but trays were available to take the food back to your room if desired. The birds were around as well, but if people would just clean up after themselves, that would be less of a problem. The staff was quickly there to keep the tables cleared when there was an issue. As for the general appearance, the staff was exceptional at trying to please and accommodate the guest, and always very friendly and cheerful. The lobby was always very clean and smelled sooo good. My wife wants to know what they cleaned with, because it was such a beautiful smell. Overall, we would stay here again and recommend it to anyone. The room wasn't as large as we expected, but we have never been to Hawaii before, so we didn't want to spend our time in our room anyway."

"We stayed for 3 nights. The room is very modern a has a small balcony with ocean glimpses Room 715. Size is good for the price. Breakfast dissapointing was windy when we were there there is room for only 20 people inside everyone had to sit in gale force winds to eat if it rains this setup is no good either. Breakfast range limited but is sufficent but for a long stay you would quickly get tired of same thing. We ordered a 530am wake up call which we never recieved also problem with phone system which reception couldnt sort out after 3 calls.
Overall good value for money they just need to fix up the breakfast setup which is not acceptable.

"As I walked into our room I quickly had tears in my eyes. I'd paid for a deluxe ocean view room and all I saw was a glimpse between two high rise buildings and just below our balcony were the dirty roofs of two apartment blocks. We were on the 9th floor. The actual room was really good. I immediately spoke with a guy at reception and he organised for us to change rooms and put us on the 17th floor, better ocean view, and in the new tower. The only problem with this was we couldn't move until our 4th night there. The room was smaller but we loved the layout. Our room was not cleaned very well at all in this room, but that didn't spoil our stay. We made good use of the balcony facing Waikiki Beach and we could see a lot more of it from this room. We would only stay here again if they guaranteed an ocean front room in the new tower on or above the 14th floor, or we would only pay for the cheapest room. Also breakfast was good if you ate before 7.30am. After that the hot food was not necessarily freshly cooked."

"Was very impressed with the hotel. Was recently renovated and is nice & clean. Lobby has lounge for refreshments & snacks, computers for use that were never busy, free wi-fi, complimentary coffee in the morning. Staff were exceptional and very helpful. Breakfast was good ( it's free), you can eat in the pool area where it will be windy, but we chose to sit near the side with no issues. Rooms were nice size, clean and updated. Housekeeping never cleaned our room until the afternoon, but when you are in paradise, time doesn't matter. The hotel is a 10 min walk to the main Waikiki area, which for some may seem a little far, but you save $ on the hotel. All the Tour buses, trolleys stop 1/2 block away which is another bonus. Overall, this was our 7th visit to Waikiki, and would rate this hotel as one of the best"

"Very happy with our stay. The room was roomier than expected, however was told upon check in that we had been upgraded to the next room type. Enough space for a family of four, bed extremely comfortable, but the view from our balcony was of the two story apartment block next door and no partial ocean/city view as we had booked. The all inclusive breakfast was ok, but location was very windy and poorly lit when dining at 6.30 am. Overall, very clean, fresh & hospitable staff. Location is handy to everything and price was right. Would recommend as a great place to stay."

"Our family found the Hotel room was more spacious than expected. We stayed 10 nights so it could have felt cramped in a smaller room. The bathroom was small but it wasn't a problem. We found the staff very helpful and any enquiry was addressed quickly. Our only criticism was the way that breakfast was organised and the location where it was served; very gusty winds sent food flying at times. Most days we took our food back to our room on a tray.
We made use of the onsite laundry facilities (have some quarters ready). The location of the Hotel was close to public transport, a grocery store and the beach.
Be aware that this Hotel is at one end of Waikiki, so it means a good 15 minute walk to the main shopping strip and restaurants. We didn't mind the walk- it was a good way to walk off our meal and watch the crowds and street entertainment.
Would definitely stay at this Hotel again."

"We stayed there for four nights for the marathon as the hotel was close to the Finish. Our room was high enough and facing 'Diamond Head' side so it was very quiet. The room was smallish but clean and well laid out. Though not extensive, free breakfast was appreciated as well as free WiFi. In addition several PCs were available at the lobby at no cost. The only minus for us was lack of bathtub and the room not getting cleaned till early evening Front desk people were all friendly and helpful."

"Just came back from 8 nights at the Hyatt Place. Loved the location - close enough to everything without being overwhelmed by it all. 2 blocks from beach. Bus and trolley stops within about 100m. Room was great - spacious, well appointed, beds were lovely and cosey. We had an ocean view room and were very happy with the balcony and view even though there were two high rises between us and the beach. Wifi in the room, tour bookings on site. My only criticism would be the breakfast, a bit same same everyday - particurly the hot food which consisted of a a hot egg muffin with a different accompaniment each day or miso type soup. Overall would highly recommend this motel and would definately stay there again."

As people listed breakfast is outside and very windy which is challenging mostly for the poor staff trying to clean the area - more wind breaks would help. We were on the 3rd floor which is where the pool and food is which was convenient but you need to go higher to get a view
Would love to visit again next year - really appreciate that they were so nice to our kids, little things like having coloring books and pails for the sand really go a long way. Thank you again, mahalo!"

"We were really impressed with all aspects of the Hyatt Place. The rooms were very clean and welcoming and the beds were really comfortable. The location was convenient and for those who don't like to walk too far the trolley stop right outside made getting around Waikiki very easy. The included breakfast was a hit especially with the children - would have been made more pleasant if there was less wind on the terrace (but we were there in December). Would happily recommend to family and friends."

Breakfast was good even though it was practically the same menu everyday and being there for a week, would have enjoyed more variety particularly from the grill section. "We booked a two-week stay at the Hyatt asking for an ocean view room and received same on the 10th Floor. It was not a large room but the king-sized bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean and maintained that way during our stay by the very friendly and efficient cleaning staff. The front desk staff was helpful in every way possible, addressed any problems immediately and even helped us find one piece of luggage which had been misplaced by our shuttle service.
The free breakfasts offered healthy choices and deliciously 'sinful' choices of every kind and included a selection of icy cold juices and milk and hot delicious coffee - what more could you ask for?
There were four computer stations so we could stay in touch with our family and a printer available for boarding passes. There was always a soft breeze blowing through the comfortable lobby and computer areas, music playing, and a very calm atmosphere which we really appreciated after a hectic day in Waikiki.

"Overall very good , clean and excellent service even when at 11 pm (the night before leaving) I stuffed the safe and couldn't get in open and our passports etc were inside, a maintanence guy was there in minutes. Good value for money and close to bus abd trolly servies and beach. The only thing I would have like acccess to would be a set of digital scales for weighing suitcaes before checking out as we had bought heaps (as I imagine lots of people do) and were worried about being over weight."

"We are very happy with our stay at Hyatt Place. Our room is very spacious with a separate sitting area, only thing is the mattress is a bit soft. We also have a balcony that could see part of the ocean. Breakfast is fantastic and has varieties. Swimming pool is small,, but you don't need it since you have the ocean. Staff is very helpful and friendly. There are computers/printers in the main lobby for guests to use. There are also travel consultants to assist you in booking tours and cars. LocatIon of the hotel is great and accessible to highway and public transit. It is situated toward the end of Waikiki beach, therefore you can enjoy the quietness and at the same time not too far from the hustle bustle part of the beach, which could be noisy at night. Very good value for the price."

"Not to be confused with the Hyatt Regency this mid range hotel is located a full block back from the beach and down from the madness that is central Waikiki. So whilste it is quieter yet still close to the beach and the restaurants it does lack good beach views (views from out balcony on the 10th floor were between buildings and of course there's no direct beach access.
Hotels facilities are also not up to the standard of the other big hotels - Surfriders, Royal Hawaian or Outriggers. Rooms are not huge, the pool is tiny, bar is very small and supplied breakfast is so so. It really should be much cheaper than other better known Waikiki hotels but if you can find a good price and need a quieter spot it may suit.
Can recommend the Tiki bar just down the street across from the beach - good entertainment, good bar prices and bar food plus the restaurant food was also good."

"I stayed at the Hyatt Place Waikiki for 3 nights as part of our trip to the Hawaiian islands. Oahu was our last stop, having stayed at Maui and Kauai prior to Oahu. The overall presentation of the hotel was very good and the staff were excellent, so was the breakfast service. However, my major complaint was that our room was quite dusty with very fine feather-like particles everywhere, walls, table etc. In our hurry and excitement we did not bother to inspect the room closely. It was only after feeling the allergic reactions (I am extremely allergic to dust) that we started to take a closer look. If only for this, our stay was very good and positive in every other way. As it stands, it is difficult for me to positively recommend this place.

"Our 11-day Hawaiian trip included visits to Maui, Kauai, and Oahu, with our last stop at Hyatt Place, Waikiiki during our stay in Oahu. We stayed at the Hyatt for 3 nights. I booked it after reading the excellent reviews here and I can see why the guests would feel so. Our problem was that we were put up in an extremely dusty room. There were fine, feather-like particles everywhere, on the desk, the walls, etc. It seems like the room hadn't been rented in a while. Both my wife and I are extremely allergic to dust, and needless to say, our stay became very miserable after the first night. Since we were mostly out during the day, we did not have the opportunity to inspect the room closely in daylight. I feel that if we had noticed it earlier, we could have brought the management's attention to it, and requested a different room. I very much was pleased with everything else, but it is hard to recommend a place where you walk in healthy and leave 3 days later with a high temperature, body ache, runny nose and sore throat."

Our overall stay was very nice. The best thing are the beds and pillows. The beds are to die for. The breakfast was nice, loved all the pineapple. I think the value for the money is hard to beat so close to the beach. The rooms could use a microwave for heating snacks and leftovers. The safe was nice and the rooms were nice and roomy. The layout of the rooms was well thoughtout and enjoyed the nice tv which swiveled from watching from the beds to the sitting room. I would highly reccomend this hotel to someone who likes good value and a nice quiet place thats clean with a great location."

"This was quite the best holiday we have had anywhere. Perfect location. I had arrived harrassed by the loss of my credit card. In no time a staff member pulled out his personal cellphone and dialed VISA to report the loss. Even after we had checked out on the final day and were hanging around waiting for transit the staff continued to serve us, look after our lugggage and made us feel like family. Great !!!"

"Just wanted everyone to know that Hyatt has made the Hyatt Place Hotel a great place to stay! We had a water view/ end room which had a nice larger balcony with views of partial Ocean/ Dianmond head and city views. Although the water view wasn't much, you could still see and hear the surf, along with the nice ocean breezes. The service and cleanliness was second to none and the great sitting area on the third floor for the delicious breakfast was a nice surprise! They even have a discount with a local Taxi cab company to get you to and from the airport for $29 US. We didn't use it from the airport to Waikiki and it was $40 US! So its a great deal if you stay at that Hotel. By the way, all the rooms are newer and our room had what I would believe to be at least a 42' flat screen TV! I would definitly give this Hotel a 9-10 for quality, service and location!!!!!"

"We can only say good things about Hyatt Place. The location was good, the hotel wasnt too noisy, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was great, it was very spacious, and the beds & pillows were so comfortable, we had our best sleeps there out of our whole trip away. And it was a bonus to have breakfast included. We got a great deal and even got an upgrade on arrival. overall, very happy and would def stay there again. Thanks"

"Hi, our very first trip to HI and it was fantastic. Hotel was great, just what you wanted, complimentray hot breakfast every morning was excellent. I hope they keep this up. Beach was 2 blocks away, wonderful area, lots of shopping and rest to choose from. We loved it. Staff was helpful and we were able to rent a car and drive wherever we wanted to, though 25 dollar fee for parking every day. THat was fine, we really loved it. The staff at the hotel all smiles and good HI attittude! Would stay again"

"We stayed at the Hyatt Place on July for about a week for our honeymoon. It was the first time for the both of us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this location and our room was very clean and we had a partial view of the ocean. The place is conveniently located near Waikiki beach and close to the Aston Waikiki Beach where most of the major tours pick up and trolley pick up. I will definitely go back! The breakfast buffet was amazing and great for those early morning where you want to grab a bite before heading out. The hotel staff was really nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place!"

"The newly remodeled lobby is beautiful. The staff is friendly, our room was clean and spacious. All staff members (including valet) made our stay very pleasant. My 5 year old loves to play checker and they even had checker tables and checkers to check out for free. Hotel is close to everything. The breakfast was convenient. The only issue is that is is very windy where the breakfast buffet is located. They need to cover that area so that birds do not land on your food too. We will stay here again."

"Thankyou we really enjoyed our stay at The Hyatt Place.
It was very close to walking path, bike & car hire in close proximety.The city bus or trams, are only 1 building away, very convieant to get around from this central location.
The ,pool was smallo, but the ocean is only 1 street way so who cares, its good and safe for little kids to splash around in.
It was great to find a laundry service, I just used the gym for an hour while I washed and dryed the clothes.
The breakfast should cater for most people, the fruit was a bit disappointing, but every thing else was great.
For value for money and position this new Hyatt was wonderful, I will be back!!"

"The Hyatt was a great place to stay for my visit to Honolulu with my mom as a graduation present. Our room wasn't available when we checked in so the staff gave us a deluxe suite which was A-OK with us! We had a great view of the ocean outside our balcony. Our room was very nice . We were barely there, though! One thing I do remember my mom saying was that the bathroom lighting was a little dim for make-up application..but I didn't seem to think so.
The complimentary breakfast was nice so we didn't have to pay for breakfast everyday. We did not have any trouble with the birds while we ate there as I know some people have said in their review. The high winds were the most frustrating thing about eating outside - but you're in Hawaii and there is wind!
The pool is small but when you have the beautiful Pacific Ocean who needs to go in the pool? :)
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Always ready to answer any questions we had. Would stay here again in the future. Only a block away from the beach and much better pricing then some of the hotels right on the beach."

"This hotel was AMAZING!! first off the hotel is brand new and the proximity to Waikiki beach is 2 minute walk!! I was not aware how close this hotel to the beach and the shopping center and basically everything is really close within walking distance. The staff are super friendly and professionals, wants to help out as much as they can! I got a beautiful room that was more like a suite pretty big, w/a king size bed and a TV room additional TV in the main room, all is very tasteful and nice designed.. I recommend with all my heart, was really worth the money and more :)"

"We booked this hotel for a short stop over on our way to the Big Island. The hotel is well located close to the beach although they are doing maintenance at the closet beach access and it is closed there. Not a big deal since it is only another 100 yards to the next area. If you like to walk, there are good walks along the beach in either direction from the hotel. The hotel itself was clean, relatively quiet and our ocean view room was comfortable. The breakfast included was a real bonus. A variety of cereals, yogurt, fruit (pineapple, melon), breads/toast, pancakes/waffles/French toast and the hotels own breakfast biscuit to start our day."

"The rooms were very nice and complimentary breakfast was a great surprise. We were disappointed how the staff handled our needing to change rooms. We had a beautiful view in our first room but found ants requiring chemical intervention. We moved our own luggage, were misinformed that we could return to the room during our stay and were given a room with no view and basically told that our original room was an upgrade that we shouldn't have had. We had booked 2 rooms and were really disappointed in how the situation was managed and for that reason would not return. Not the welcome we were hoping for on our first day in Hawaii!"

"This is probably the best hotel experience my fiance and I have had at a hotel in a long time. This is coming from someone who has both his parents working at high end hotels...and another who has a father that manages a part of another hotel. The rooms were spacious. Very clean and simple. I love that is wasn't too busy. The rooms were very comfortable as well....made it very much like we were at home. The main reason for my high review though is mainly the staff. They were amazing! The valet workers were courteous....and let us know about other parking (cheaper parking too) across the street from the hotel when their lot became full. There were other attendents nearby that let us leave our car in the front as we checked in to our hotel. I was asked nurmerous times as well if I needed any help with bags. The best best experience though was with the front desk people. They are simply wonderful. They were so incredibly helpful and personable. We were even given a small tour of the lobby surroundings, when we checked in. well was very knowledgable and quick to answer any questions we had. Then when I had bought a few things from the bakery and had my hands full, shen had even walked me to the elevator to make sure that I was able to carry everything ok. "I've worked in hotels for many years so i'm extra critical when it comes to service and cleanliness. I'll make it short and sweet: The bathroom to our room was very small. I looked under the vanity and it was dirty with various debris. The hotel is a very GREEN hotel almost too green for me. We hung our towels up so the housekeeper would not change the towels. BUT she changed them anyway. The lighting wasn't that great either. My wife mentioned the vanity not to bright for putting on make up. I found the light by the desk to be not so good. The AC shut off and had engineering reset it because we were out on the balcony with the door open hence tripping sensors to shut off the AC. Breakfast every morning was above and beyond! Just AWESOME to start your day off. Just a little bit too windy sitting out there. We just sat closer to the food to avoid the wind. A bit too noise with back up alarms from delivery service from the hotel across the street every morning and evening. Get a room overlooking the mountains not the ocean! The Staff was awesome! If you want or need something just ask and the staff is right there for you to make your stay wonderful!! Thank you for making our 25th anniversary very comfortable and memorable. Rent a car and park it in the garage across the street for $60 a week come and go as you please. Avoid Tour groups and trips. You are the last hotel to be picked up and dropped off. The buses take a beating hence not very good AC. The Tour guides think they are giving you your monies worth by pointing out ever little detail(town hall, police station, pink buildings and why, etc) Just wanted to go to Pearl Harbor not see 2 and 1/2 hours of crap. We would have driven if we have known this was going to happen."

"We were pleasantly surprised at the size and cleanliness of our room in the hotel. We had an ocean view (they are on the second row of hotels but you could still see between the other hotels). The staff was friendly and the location was great. We don't really have any complaints about the hotel at all. The staff didn't hover but they weren't neglectful either. The morning breakfast was excellent. I definitely recommend it to anyone headed to Waikiki."

"The breakfast is shocking, there were not enough chairs and table to sit. The room is very noisy, you can hear the people walking around at night and talking in the morning.
It is not worth paying $218.00 oer nite with breakfast.
Location is good, it is walking distance to the beach, restaurant and the shops. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

"The trip met all my expectations. We arrived at the hotel about 4 1/2 hours late so they had us listed as no shows. They did find a room for that night but we wanted another room and the next day they no only found the exact room we wanted but they moved all our luggage.
The hotel staff was excellent. The beds were so comfortable and the large TV that swivels from bedroom to living room was quite a treat. It was a very nice quiet place and the continental breakfast every morning was great.
It was a very short walk to the beach which was extremely nice. The hotel had a nice pool to enjoy.
The only thing I would add would be a microwave in the room to heat up food and make popcorn."

"The hotel is newly renovated, has a view of Waikiki beach and Diamond Head. The hotel is only two blocks away from Waikiki beach, shopping and dining. The City Bus service is just around the corner and the buses will take you mostly everywhere. An ABC store is located around the corner, which we used for stocking up on water, chips, souvenirs, and the price is reasonable. The hotel/room is very quite, clean, modern, spacious, and also has a safe in each room. The only thing that is missing is a 'MICROWAVE', but if you need to heat up your food, you may ask front desk staff to heat up your food for you.
The lobby is large and pleasant, friendly staff, and continental breakfast included.
I would definately recommended this hotel. One last thing to note is that the maid forgot to clean our room for one night. They cleaned the room the next morning."

"My wife and I took a room at the Hyatt Place Waikiki. It was all we wanted. Clean. Great location near beach, restaurants, park, open space, and transportation. Decor was efficient and attractive. Entry foyer was easy on the eyes, well lit and comfortable. Staff were efficient. We have two issue: (1) The front desk staff stated that a taxi cab to the airport would be a $29.00 flat fee. What we got instead from Charley's Taxi was a $38.80 tab. We paid it but will be taking this matter up with Hyatt as there appears to be a misunderstanding between the hotel staff and one (if not all) of the taxi service; (2) the detritus from breakfasts that migrated to the foyer area lingered too long (both mornings we were there) and the breakfast area on the third floor was not adequately staffed such that glasses and bowls were not restocked in time thereby we could not get the breakfast foods and drink we wanted when we wanted it. I saw one staff person on a Saturday morning rush hour doing the dish pick up."

"This hotel was excellent as far as location, service, what was provided including complimentary breakfast,etc. The staff was also excellent, being very helpful in every way. I couldn't have asked for a better experience in my stay."
