Stayed at this hotel for our last honeymoon night in Hawaii. Had to change rooms upon arrival due to a clogged toilet, which would suggest that the room wasn't properly inspected prior to occupancy. Hotel upgraded us to a suite, which should have been the case anyway given my Diamond rewards status with Hilton. We also had a few things damaged in our suite (heating/air conditioning; coffee maker), the pool area had no towels, etc. Overall, hotel room was clean and staff responded to each iss... Read more

Have stayed at this Double Tree a number of times. This Double Tree just started offering the digital key check-in. Upon my arrivel the bell staff and concierge staff greeted me in the true Aloha spirit. Assisted me with my bags, took care of valeting my car. I alerted the staff that I was using the digital key. This means by passing the front desk at check-in which is a great thing!! The whole process from pulling up out front until I was in my room only took 5 minutes. During my st... Read more

I stayed here while on business in mid-May 2016. It's a nice hotel, but I can't get around how hard it is to keep your room reasonably cool. Even the hallways were really stuffy and warm. My room's thermostat repeatedly kept resetting to 72 degrees, and the fan would switch to "AUTO" if I left it for just a few hours. I basically had to get into the habit of checking the thermostat whenever I got back from work, and at least once throughout the course of the night. "Frustrating" would be an... Read more

If you are looking for quality over quantity, this is the place to go. If you compare Doubletree to a higher end hotel like Hilton, there will be less perks for you here. However, the customer service at the Hilton is give or take. We have been here at least 5 times within the year either personal or on business and its the same every time. Greetings, great food, staff attitude and servitude is the same each time. Overall, its affordable, still close to shops and beaches and worth the stay. So c... Read more

Clean and situated in a great area of access to all of the hotels and restaurants. Staff was phenomenal; Cookies were to die for at every staff counter contact service. Beds were so comfortable and the towels were very soft. Shower was hot and clean. All amenities were functioning and available during our stay.

When we pulled up to the doubletree was the first time I got to meet their incredible staff. True aloha spirit. Our room was on the 18th floor and had a city/mountain view. I love a good bed and these passed with flying colors. The bathroom was a little small for my liking, but adequate. There is not a hot tub, but the heated salt water pool left my skin feeling great. Now I want a salt water pool. I can't review the breakfast because we left early to get day of tickets to Pearl Harbor. Recommen... Read more

This hotel is wonderful. It is a smaller hotel that provides easy access to all it's amenities. The fitness center and pool are easily accessible - and best of all, not crowded due to the size of the hotel. All the staff I encountered were super friendly. It is off the beach, so it is not so crazy with traffic. Valet parking, provides easy access to the hotel if you have a car. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants easy access to the beach but not the craziness of some of the larger... Read more

Our reservation had been botched and unfortunately deleted from the system. The staff bent over backwards to resolve the situation quickly. They upgraded our room for free. That part was wonderful. They ended up making us switch rooms, mid stay and that was quite inconvenient and unpleasant. The hotel has an abundance of beach towels, the valet attendants were a delight, the restaurant closes very early, location is so-so, there are no views (except other buildings and parking lots). Originally I made reservations for the Doubletree via a corporate reservation service. I was told the hotel had availability however upon my arrival the hotel told me that they did not have availability. As a result I was forced to change rooms twice. Upon the second room change the bathroom was not cleaned there was hair on the floor so I requested another room. However the bathroom for that room also had hair on the floor. This property was wonderful, staff was helpful and accommodating, and my status as Diamond was fully utilized. I enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast, and the omelet I bought on my last morning. Baggage storing after checkout so I didn't have to take a backpack and suitcase to the mall for a massage was helpful. $10 dinner vouchers for refusing room service was great. Staff were friendly.

I booked this hotel because there was no other hotel room around the $300 range. All others were $600+ My sheets always felt damp. I don't think the sheets get fully dried... My door kept getting stuck/jammed. I had to enter my key about 3-4 times before the door would open. Very annoying.

I booked a room during Hilton's Black Friday special. With so many independent hotels in Waikiki I wanted to stick with a major brand. Upon arrival the driveway was clean and the valet was very helpful in taking our car. The lobby is one floor above the driveway. There was no line at check-in and the staff was very friendly. Once we got to the room it was typical for this class of hotel. However the view was dreadful. It was a view of the run down Island Hostel which is located next door,... Read more

The hotel is very nice. Good sized rooms mine had a balcony, and was very clean. The staff was great and the breakfast was pretty good. The bar area that is used for breakfast is a little small so try to beat the rush. The beach is a few blocks away, not a bad walk. There are a couple of places to eat on the same block and many within a short walk. I would stay here again.

Overall its a nice clean hotel with very friendly service. Its is a bit overpriced as are the rest of the hotel in the waikiki area. Despite it being an old building, they keep it looking fresh and modern. The partial ocean view suites had a good view to them, Being Honors Gold we got free breakfast which good. I would also recommend upgrading to the full buffet as you get much more variety to your breakfast.

Of course our first hotel choice was the Hilton Hawaiian Village but because of the high price, we opted for a reasonably priced hotel, also a Hilton brand, that was a little way down the street. Not a bad place to stay. I stayed on the 14th floor with an ocean view. This property is 1 of 2 "company approved properties" for Honolulu, the other being the Holiday Inn Beachcomber in the heart of Waikiki. First the pros: Great location. Away from the madness of Waikiki, but right up the road (maybe a 10 minute walk) from the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Anything you could possibly want is in the village. Great comfortable place to stay on my way off the island. At the beginning of the Waikiki madness but in a great location. Room service, pool and gym were awesome. Coupon for foregoing housekeeping. Check in cookies were amazing. Rental movies were $18. It was cheaper to go to the movies than stay in. Other than that, great stay.

Typical hotel, room had comfortable bed, closet space for hanging items and storing bags. Bathroom had soaps, shampoos, and lotions. Towels large enough and washcloths standard. Great Waikiki location, with all the expected traffic and noise of course, 3 blocks from the beach at Hilton Hawaiian Village and very near to Ala Moana shopping center and park, ABC convenience stores and restaurants everywhere. Better than most in the hotel class, suites are nice for family stays, adequate fitness center, staff is excellent and many thanks to Rebecca at the front desk for taking such good care of us during our one week visit.

Hilton is my companies preferred hotel chain, so I was booked at this property when in Honolulu for business. Lobby is small and cramped, and always seemed to be full of people waiting to check in (fairly typical in Hawaii due to flights, etc). Front desk staff was very nice, but poorly trained. Everything took a long time. Room was very comfortable, and bath had been recently remodeled. Good AC in the room, poor in the rest of the facility.

This hotel was fine. It was clean, the staff was very friendly, and the beds were comfy. I didn't like the layout of my particular room -- not enough mirrors, dresser space, and a very small shower. I reserved it because it was near the Convention Center, which worked out, as it was a short walk over there. I didn't spend much time shopping other area hotels, so I'm not sure the value of this hotel for the cost.
