This is a pretty basic condominium. We got the 1 bedroom condo which is small but has all the essentials we need. It has living, bedroom, showers, and full kitchen to prepare meals. They clean your room daily and provide fresh towels. Mandatory cleaning fee $18/day and parking fee $15/day. Pools and tennis court on premise too. 1-2 blocks away from the Waikiki beach and the zoo too.

The Aston Waikiki Sunset hotel was very close to everything. The beach, shopping center , restaurants/bars everything was about a block away . My kids my husband and I would really recommend this hotel.

Pleasantly surprised. Check in was fast and efficient. Our group of three ladies were upgraded to an ocean view room complimentary. Housekeeping was excellent. Security 24/7 at the entrance to the hotel. Rooms were quiet . A small grocery store on level 5 if you need to buy anything without going out. Pool looked nice however a little windy and shady for us in April. Only a couple of blocks from the beautiful beach which is less crowed than the other end of Waikiki. Less than a three minute walk... Read more

Loved our stay at the Aston Wiakiki Sunset. We had a two bedroom Diamond Head View. Halls a little dated, but room was neat and clean. The kitchen had everything you would need, pots, pans, dishes, dish soap, paper towels daily coffee for your coffee pot, even daily newspaper. Have a small store for on fifth floor, with some grocery items and misc stuff. Nice pool area on sixth floor, bathroom on this floor includes showers and a sauna. Hotel about block and a half from Waikiki beach, plenty of... Read more

Stayed for 5 nights, location was great to walk to beach across the road. Restraunts within walking distance. Wifi great! No complaints at all ;-) Bathroom small but fine. Balcony to get some fresh air was lovely. All in all was a lovely stay.

This hotel is located only about 2 blocks away from the beach and is very close to a pick up point for some of the shuttles/trolleys. The hotel is dated and the carpets looked like they could do with a good clean. The servicing of our room was poorly done but the reception staff were good.

very dated, musty smells in hallways - rooms clean enough, we were lucky to have a 2 bedroom corner suite (thank god) with minimal other suites around us so we had no noise from others, my brother and sister in law were not so lucky in a suite facing the ocean - from both sides in their suite during day and night you could hear screaming kids, people partying etc - it is a very family focused place so not quiet AT ALL. elevators are slow slow slow as there are so many people staying here. This has been our 4 stay at this hotel. We enjoy staying here because as a family of 5 we find the two bedroom apartments provide us with ample space. The apartments are clean and very comfortable with a full kitchen. The BBQ are provides an alternative for a meal. There is a Safeway supermarket nearby where you can stock up on supplies. Situated towards the Diamond Head end of Waikiki and about 2 blocks from the beach it is an easy walk to get to the centre of Waikiki. We will happily st... Read more

My family have stayed here several times in the last few years. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The tourist desk was also very helpful in organising such things as day trips to car hire. The rooms were spacious and with a well stocked full kitchen.

This condo is in an excellent location. Easy walk to Waikiki beach even for our 3 year old grand son. The staff here are excellent and very helpful. My only complaint is with our initial reservation for 2 bedroom condo. We arrived into Honolulu late and being tired stayed in room for first night although we were not satisfied with the cleanliness of the bedroom. The condo was very worn. The age of the building itself is not a problem and seems typical of the other facilities in the area. The be... Read more

Hotel is average. Having a condo space is better than single hotel room. Nice pool. Great location....away from the hustle and bustle and close to Kuhio Beach. Laundry room on each floor and convenience store on site.

The furniture and drapery in the suite is old, it could be upgraded. Rooms were not as clean as expected, but called property manager assistant (Carri) and she responded promptly. We requested a table for lanai, owner supplied, we supplied a few utensils & dishes but substantially equipped. I would recommend the unit to travellers.

We stayed for 3 nights recently and were in a two bedroom suite. The room could have used some updating without a doubt but overall it was a good value. The property is well located however it could have used a restaurant that at least serves coffee and breakfast items. One thing to be aware of is the lack of elevators, if you are parking your car during mid-day you will wait for an open elevator. There are only three elevators that serve a 38 story building.

This was a terrible place to stay. I don't even know where to start. When we first got there. They informed me of charges for this and that. I was shocked! I had to pay for parking everyday and I had to pay for entertainment fee whether I used the movie rental or not. It ended up being an extra $230 for the week in these charges. I brought it up to the manager she just noded her head and did nothing. The hotel is very old. The elevator is so slow and you can never get on. Housekeeping uses the ... Read more

The room was O.K. en suite was a little dated. Watchout for the add on's $8-50 porterage (we managed to wheel our own bags) and $18 a night amenity, this is standard practise and can vary, we paid $36 at a resort. The fee is for tea and coffee, that consisted of 1 English breakfast tea bag and 1 Japanese green tea bag, there was filtered coffee available 1 sachet = 4 cups. 1 cup of that and you won't blink for an hour. We had transfers from the airport to the hotel and to a resort on the north ... Read more

12 of us stayed here for 10 nights in 4 apartments. The apartments are a bit dated but clean, air-conditioned and spacious. Self serve tea, coffee and breakfast-making facilities were much appreciated. Room Service is friendly and non-intrusive and the hotel has a activities booking service. It is close to the beach and easy to access. There is a pool and bbq facilites but no meals. We were disappointed that on arrival (7 am) after a 10 hour flight that we could not get into a room until 3pm. Also... Read more

I stayed here on a business trip for 2 weeks and wouldn't recommend it for the business traveller. The rooms are shabby and the whole place needs a refurb. My first encounter was with a chest of drawers when I pulled out the top drawer the front fell off. Lights didn't work. Furniture and fittings were old and the bathroom dinghy. If I had a family and I was staying a few days, I could have coped with it. There is a swimming pool there. The location of the hotel is good as it is tucked away from... Read more

I had spent a few weeks searching for a hotel that 1) could hold all of us without having to get separate rooms 2) be close enough to the beach that we could walk there 3) have parking that we could easily get in and out of 4) be centrally located in Waikiki so we could walk to all of the fun spots and 5) not break our budget. The Resort was perfect for our family. We're from Maui and I love the option of K-Class Reservation. We were able to get a LCO for 2pm. During the day of check-out we were able to pack all our belonging and head to the Honolulu Zoo (6-10 min walk from the Resort) and came back to the resort with 2 hours to kill before check-out. Booking far in advance the reservation dept were able to accommodate all request. We are from Maui , so Ocean View or Partial Ocean View was never a Priority. We all in... Read more

We booked this hotel due to most of Oahu being booked out at the time. Service and staff were great overall. Pool was ok but nothing special. Room was clean but some of the bedding was dated and could use an uplift. We made a complaint about the pull out sofa bed as the mattress was thin and old. They managed to add a foam topper which was satisfactory as there were no other rooms available which would have been the better option. We stayed in level 28 and when our balcony door was open we could hardly hear the TV as the wind would go through the room and into the laundry and create a loud howling. When they came up we were told to put a towel under the door. So we would put pillows and had to put a chair to hold them in place. Very annoying, even noticed as soon as we got to Kuhio Street the wind picked up substantially even when there was hardly any wind along the beach. Very strange. Pros : I am over 50, so we got ourselves 2 upgrades on our room!! Call and get a confirmation number for it. Our room was on 33rd floor and much higher than other hotels around us. Ocean & Diamond head view was amazing!! Very clean considering the age of the hotel. Cons : I wish they take away the old green cheap awning at the entrance. If you get a room on a lower floor facing the canal, I don't think you'll enjoy your stay there. The balcony is so tiny.....There is only one W/D on every floor... Read more

Apparently the hotel has certain rooms that are owned by other companies, such as Suite 2001. As such, the hotel staff does not service those rooms nor assist the guests staying in those rooms. It's an odd arrangement. That said, we would consider staying in the building again. What we liked about suite 2001/ Aston Sunset: - The suite had a separate bedroom with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The bed was also king sized. -It was a corner suite so it was super quiet and had a goo... Read more
