Aston at the Waikiki Banyan is scheduled to begin the exterior enhancement project on October 29, 2012. The exterior enhancement project includes concrete restoration, re-sealing of windows, lanai maintenance, and painting of the exterior of the building. The overall project is anticipated to be completed in December 2013. At this time, the exterior enhancement project will only affect 1 tower at a time. All public areas will be accessible.

Work will be on Monday Friday from 9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.

We anticipate the noise from the concrete repair will travel throughout the building. All other work will create minimal noise and inconvenience.

Work will be scheduled by columns, so the property will make every effort to accommodate guests in rooms away from the work.

Notices and construction schedules will be posted throughout the property.

Please Note:
There will be a $15 plus tax daily amenity fee collected directly at the property. Fees subject to change. The amenity fee includes Playstation 2 console in each unit, unlimited access to DVD movies and Playstation 2 games, in-room coffee and tea provided daily, daily newspaper, daily in-room safe usage, in-room Internet access, Wi-Fi and local and toll free calls.

Exit airport terminal and access H-1 Freeway East. Exit freeway via Nimitz Highway and follow Waikiki directional signs. Nimitz Highway transitions to Ala Moana Boulevard midpoint on your drive as you pass the port of Honolulu on your right and the Honolulu business district on your left. Ala Moana Boulevard merges with Kalakaua Avenue at the southwest entrance to Waikiki. Keep left and proceed onto Kuhio Avenue. Turn left on Paoakalani Avenue and turn left again on Ala Wai Boulevard. "We have been to the Banyan for about the last 30 years twice a year. They have a very friendly staff, the rooms are nice, It is close to the beach and their parking is excellent. The last time we were there was in March. On our November trip they have started adding $10 a day for internet, newspaper, and videos and it is a mandatory charge even though we didn't use any of these things. The Banyan should add the $10.00 to their room fee if it is mandatory instead of telling you after you check in. I don't like to pay for things I do not use and I am sure there are a lot of people out there that feel the same. It is a wonderful place to stay but they should reconsider this price addition."

"we did not know what to expect when we chose to book this hotel/condo, little we knew that it became an awesome trip for the family. When we went home, my kids couldn't stop talking about their trip to the hotel. "When we arrived on February 4th we were told that our PREPAID room was not available and we would be moved to another property (the Sunset). The front desk clerk informed us it was a block away so no problem for us to walk. When we said that we might need some help with our luggage she and the bell hop agrued as to who would help us. Then she said she would call us a taxi. I asked at whose exspence. Relunctantly she agreed the hotel would pay it. The taxi driver was not happy about a short trip and left us outside the new hotel to deal with our luggage while he went in to get paid. Was not impressed with the Sunset. Room had a stale odor, beds uncomfortable, and the pool was on the wrong side to shelter it from the wind. Would I book an Aston Hotel again. I doubt it.
I rated the quality, value cleaniness poor because I had to give a rating although I really can't comment on that since we did not get to stay at the hotel."

"3rd time to Hawaii, first time to this resort, nice hotel/condo, close to the beach, pool deck was windy but made for a nice cool down while tanning,some great in hotel free amenities,movies and games(kids came along)), great service from concierge.Would go back and stay anytime there.Only issue i had was with the pull out bed,somewhat broken down,adapted and put matress right on the floor,end of the issue."

"We were initially given a room that faced the morning sun which would stream into the bedroom and the room only had sheer drapes. Requested heavier blackout drapes but were told that they did not have any. After complaining again we were moved to another room which was much more comfortable and we actually had ocean views. This room's balcony door lock was broken but was fixed after making a phone call. My whole experience with the staff was not satisfying, they seemed to be very disinterested on the front desk. Rooms were kept clean and were very spacious but we were a little bit of walking distance to the hub of Waikiki. I would not stay here again."
