"We had a marvelous time. The staff was friendly, the room (the entire hotel) was spotless, and information was readily available. I am not sure where these other folks stayed, but except for the noise (we knew Waikiki was noted as a party place) all night long, had no problems! The hotel provided ear plugs for sleeping. They were efficient. We were on the 6th floor. The elevators were very slow, but both worked. I was concerned there was no certification posted in the elevator, but had no problems with them. There was no pool but we had Waikiki Beach and the entire ocean to swim in. We loved it and would go back."

"OMG! I thought I booked the Waikiki Aqua Wave which is an inviting urban boutique hotel featuring spacious rooms with contemporary decor. What I got was the no-tell motel in all its outdated smelly splendor. The title should have read, 'pool covered in blue plastic, one barely working elevator, rockin' night life-ALL NIGHT LONG with competing music from surrounding hotels & passing car stereos that don't pass very quickly'. Experience the local fare-24/7 as the rooms on the marketplace side are directly above the exhaust fans from all the courtyard restaurants. Don't want to smell like fried food, don't get a room on that side or don't ever open your lanai door. Notice no pictures of the bathrooms? That's because, at least for the 'suite', the bathroom is so small even one person has to maneuver carefully & almost stand on the toilet to close the door once in the bathroom. I'm sure there is somebody out there with a respiratory issue secondary to the fuzzy, filthy AC ducts. Carpeting needs replaced. Hallways reek of chemical that seems like attempt to cover up other odor. Beds are very low quality. Towels are limited in room & also low quality. Only drapery is blackout, no drapes to let light in while screening room from viewing from outside. Towel rack in bathroom all rusty & fixtures outdated & low quality. What kind of hotel requires two very large 'bouncer' types near front door? Sure they were all very friendly to guests but they were there as sentries. This urban boutique was so bad we moved to another establishment our first morning there. Staff was great & its too bad they are at this shady place. I didn't feel safe outside, near the front of the hotel, at night with my daughter. When we went out, the one night we actually stayed out of the 4 nights we had booked, we went down the stairs, passed the piles of recycling/trash bags & out the back. I guess there is one other plus besides the staff, the food court had plenty of good food.
Like I told the manager in the hotel survey, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone other than a single male looking to party, not bothered by tons of city noise."

"NO POOL!!! DISCLOSURE NEEDED! ASSUMED THERE WAS A POOL,SINCE WE STAYED THERE BEFORE IT WAS TAKEN OUT. DISABLED, BEACH WASN'T AN OPTION, BUT HAD TO TAKE 9 YR OLD GRANDSON (LOVES TO SWIM) VERY DISAPOINTED, WAS ALONE. HOUSEKEEPING SUCKS; SHOWED UP @5:45 ON LAST NIGHT WHILE GETTING READY FOR DINNER & NEVER CAME BACK. ROOM WAS FULL OF TRASH,SAND, NO TOWELS. FRONT DESK STAFF WERE FRIENDLY & TRIED TO SOOTH THINGS. WORST VACATION EVER! DO THE RIGHT THING....DISCLOSE IN BIG,BOLD LETTERS THAT THERE IS NO POOL."

"We had a great time...this hotel is easy access to everything we did not have a car for a few days and it was still easy to get around. This hotel is literally right next door to the international market. The staff is very friendly...and they guy who checked us in was really nice. The only thing was we arrived early and they did not have any rooms for us to go in to so they offered to hold our bags for us while we grabbed lunch. Once our room was ready we walked in and it was decent, nothing to fancy for the price we paid. The only downfall was our door was literally across from the elevators so we can hear people waiting for the elevator to come and we found out by the 3rd day being there our electronic door lock wasnt even activated and anyone could open our door. We called it in to guest services and it took them an hour to come up and fix it...so check your locks. But overall i would come back to this place and i enjoyed my time in Hawaii."

"THERE WERE A FEW PROBLEMS WITH THE AIRELINES, THE HOTEL AND ONE OF THE TOURS THAT WE PURCHASED AFTER GETTING TO THE HOTEL.

FIRST OFF WE WANTED TO GO ON THE DINNER CRUISE ON THE COAST OF HAWAII, AFTER PURCHASING IT AND THE CONCIEGE TELL THE COMPANY THAT WE REQUIRED SPECIAL TRANSPORTATION DUE TO MY USING A MOTORIZED SCOOTER TO GET AROUND. WE GET TO THE PICKUP POINT AND THE DRIVER REFUSED TO LET US BOARD BECAUSE THERE WAS KNOW WAY TO GET THE SCOOTER ON THE BUS. WHICH MADE NO SENSE WHEN THE NIGHT BEFORE WE WENT TO THEE LUAU @ PARIDISE COVE AND HAD NO DIFFICULTY THE DRIVER AND SOMEONE FROM THE COMPANY LOADED THE SCOOTER IN THE CARGO / LUGGAGE AREA, AND I WAS ABLE TO CLIMB THE 4 STEPS ONTO THE BUS.

WE WERE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO GOING ON THE DINNER CRUISE AND ENJOYING OURSELVE ON THE WATER, BUT DUE TO SOME INCOMPANENT PERSON WE WERE UNABLE TO DO SO.

THE HOTEL IS REATIVELY NON HANDICAP EXCESSABLE. THERE HANDICAP LIFT IN THE FRONT OF THE HOTEL WORKED MAYBE 3 TIMES THE WHOLE WEEK WE WERE THERE. SO I HAD TO GO AROUND TO THE BACK OF THE HOTEL AND USE THE SERVICE ELEVATOR WITH THE TRASH AND ALL.

I'M HOME BACK IN CIVILIZATION NOW WHERE IT IS THE LAW THAT EVERYTHING IS HANDICAP EXCESSABLE."

"This is a decent hotel and the staff were friendly and accommodating when we needed anything from them. You can sign out beach towels each day, which is a very nice service. The $20 parking fee per night is a bit steep and when it fills up, they send you next door to the Trade Center for the same price. You just have to keep your receipt. There is an automated parking garage that is pretty cheap that is right next to the hotel (opposite side of the Trade Center), but it doesn't accommodate any vehicles over 9 feet (so no minivans). You will also have to wait while your car is brought down by the machine, so that is a con instead of a pro. The hotel provides ear plugs free of charge, which is a nice service since it can be loud at night around Waikiki. One day we needed a band-aid for a blister and they brought up like 5, so the staff seems very nice. They also have a security guy outside the hotel throughout the night. I would go back if the price was right. I have no complaints."

"We all had great time. We arived early and the hotel checked us in early that help alot to start our vacation earlyer. For the price that we paid the Hotel was great, close to the beach, close to Market, other stores and activities. The only thing the restroom needs to bring attention, toilet was keep baking up. After phone call shortly toilet was fixed. The staff was promt, and freindly."

"I stayed at the Aqua Waikiki Wave and loved it. Staff is awesome, friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our toilet and maintenance was there within 5 minutes to take care of the problem. Great location to the beach (I walked there in 3 minutes tops), close to shopping, food and clubs. The hotel is situated on a busy street and it is extremely noisy at night. Be sure to request a floor higher up in you are a light sleeper. We took the bus and the bust picks up right out front of the hotel. I will stay there when I go back next year and will recommend it to all my friends."

"We had enjoyed 100%. The flight was good...first we started off with a very humorous flight attendant her name was Emily everyone loved her. She started everyone off with a good day especially early in the morning. Next ...we had a very nice car that we got to pick any one from the lot. Finally we found ourselves to the hotel which was very accomodating to our needs. It had refrigerator, microwave, ironing board with iron and a hair dryer. And, also the food court was just on the backside of the hotel which was so convenient.. I would like to stay at the Aqua Waikiki Wave again. Very nice people to talk to."

"This was my fifth stay at the Aqua Waikiki Wave. The hotel has a great location, the staff, especially the cleaning staff, are very pleasant and the price is good value for money. This time I was able to check in when I arrived in the morning after a ten hour flight but I accept that this is not always possible. The massage centre is also great for getting rid of travel and activity aches. Whilst the hotel is getting older and the bathrooms are a little tired, the shower is excellent and so are the beds. I was down on the 2nd floor this time and although aware of the street noise it didn't keep me awake... perhaps I was tired from having such a good time in HI."

"We had a small group of friends that decided at the last minute to take a trip to Hawaii. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and was already to help with a smile. The staff encouraged us to join them for the complementary cocktail hour the first night and it definitely set us in the mood to relax. We thought we had a leak in our bathroom the first night and they sent a maintenance work within 5 minutes to check the problem. Turns out we just splashed too much water from the tub, but we appreciated the efficiency in checking on the problem. The only other thing was that we had to call for fresh towels everyday since we used towels for the beach and the bath. But by the last day there were double the towels so we didn't need to call anymore."

"This hotel was everything that I thought it would be. The room was very clean. On Sunday when we arrived at the hotel at approximately Noon, our room was ready even though check in was 3:00 p.m. The hotel is centrally located with the back exit of the international market on the same block. The room had a mini-fridge and a microwave which allows you to save money on food costs. There is a Food Pantry grocery store about two blocks from the hotel and St. Germains bakery is next door to the hotel. The bakery has the best bread, fresh croissants every morning and they have a large supply of different bake goods. I would definitely recommend this hotel and can not wait to stay there again on my next trip."

"Don't expect warm friendly service from this crew- they don't go out of their way to be rude- but they don't go out of their way for anything. The parking garage is only large enough for half of the patrons to park in- and they don't tell you that there is additional parking next door until the issue is forced... don't expect acknowledgement as you walk by the concierge either- and the bathroom.... if the grout is ivory under the counter... it shouldn't be brown in the middle of the room!

As an additional note- I didn't even know they had a pool until I just read another poster's review just now...
My advice- stay just a little outside of Waikiki and enjoy your experience more. "

"The area was great. It's right in the heart of Waikiki, but if you aren't on a higher floor (which I wasn't) then you hear all the street noise. The club noise I could handle. It was the garbage trucks at 6am, that got to me..."
