I have been coming here for years and it is still great. It is in a great location very close walking distance across a parking lot to Ala Moana Shopping Center. The staff and room were excellent. I highly recommend staying here.

Booked through one of the organizations that rent out condo/hotel rooms at the Ala Moana this time, primarily because there was a room on the 35th floor available. Previous experience has taught me that road noise can be pretty pronounced in this conveniently located hotel adjacent to the "largest outdoor shopping mall" in the US (world?). It is a little bit quieter, this high up, but an outdoor concert nearby kept me waking up until after midnight on a Thursday. It took a couple of days to... Read more

This hotel is located adjacent to the Ala Moana shopping centre which is accessible via the level 2 sky bridge. My wife and I were upgraded to a partial Ocean view Room with king bed. We found the bed was comfortable enough and rooms clean. A great location for us as we didnt have to lug our haul of goodies back to Waikiki on the bus. I would recommend if you are planning on doing a lot of shopping at the centre.

Ala Moana Hotel is just the perfect place to be when you just want to shop till you drop in Honolulu, Hawaii. With all great WiFi, well spaces rooms, easy access to nearby restaurants and also 5mins walk to the beach. This hotel as it all, however you will have to be patient when checking in as there will be a long que but you will be well served under 5mins before you know.

Have been to Honolunu for business trip of two weeks. Hotels rooms are very neat and clean they they are small as compared to other hotels I had visited. but good enough for one person. View from the balcony is very nice where you can see mountains and rainbows. Other side of the hotel has a very beautiful view of the ocean but of course it comes with a price. Hotel is well connected to both airports / business areas and tourist locations. Ala moana beach part is just 2 minutes walk from the hot... Read more

I always look forward to coming back! Good location. Nearby mall. Food court in the mall and many more restaurants on nearby streets. Only a few block to Waikiki by foot and a crosswalk away from the Ala Moana Beach Park. Costly at times during peak travel periods, but well worth it! Enjoy!

In town on business. Hotel was clean, comfortable and had generally good amenities. The fitness center in particular was very well stocked, they had LifeFitness Cardio gear that my gym has at home. If you forget anything, there is a massive mall next door that you could get just about anything including any souvenir you could want. The Ala Moana park is a short distance away, and it appeared to have a nice beach. The pool was on the small side though. Service was friendly and helpful. Wo... Read more

The rooms are small, one coffee packet, no room service, no lunch available, no food or drinks at the pool. The Signature Bar is good, so far that's the only redeeming quality. On the plus side, I needed a bottle opener and they provided one.

I had a 36 hour stopover en route to LA and while I usually like to stay in Waikiki I know how close this hotel is to the shopping centre. The hotel itself is large and a little dated, but the location if you want to shop is perfect. It is a 30 second walk to Macy's and your room key even offers you a store discount there. I was given an "upgrade" on check-in and found that my room had a lovely balcony overlooking the Ala Moana Shopping Centre car park lol. The pool area is somewhat of an oasis ... Read more

I stayed here years ago with my parents and really loved it. But it wasn't as amazing as I remembered on the inside. However, excellent location, near the outdoor shopping mall and across from a very safe and beautiful beach and park. We also discovered Don Quixote, a supreme grocery store where we could get the local favorites made fresh, like Ahi Poki, for an incredible affordable price!

If you like to spend your vacation shopping, then this is the hotel for you. Located right next to the largest mall in Hawaii, you'll find a variety of shops and restaurants to choose from. The hotel is just a short walk to Ala Moana Beach Park with Its white sand beach, jogging/walking paths, and picnic areas. It's a favorite among the local folks. If you prefer, it's a 30-minute walk to the heart of Waikiki.

For the relatively low price low you can get here, you sure get a lot! Very roomy area with a mini refrigerator, big bathroom, nice-size balcony, even a small couch. Wifi worked great. The pool area is huge and clean. Good location with Ala Moana beach and park right across the street, the mall and foodcourt is right there in the parking lot. If you don't have a car, there are plenty of bus stops close by going in all directions (The Bus costs $2.50 per ride or a 4-day pass is $35).

Conveniently located, the Ala Moana Hotel is just off the beach path; about a five-minute walk to the beach and many restaurants and beach bars. We always had a very clean room, and a very friendly staff to work. Our ocean view room was not really much of a view, considering we saw the ocean through two large towers. Consider the city view for a much better price.

My room was a very welcome site after this weary traveler walked in. The grounds, lobby and hallways were immaculate and inviting. Colors, decor, open flow to the design and the location of the rooms to accommodate the views of the location. Nice hotel that is across the street from the mall and other attractions. We had a partial ocean view but could still see the ocean and marina. Saw the 4th of July fireworks from our room over the ocean and it was spectacular ! The staff was very helpful and the transportation was easy. We just had to walk a block or two to catch the trolley which took us where we needed or wanted to go. The hotel room was kind of small for my taste but it was tolerable . This hotel is ok if you want to visit a large mall. Waikiki is not that close and too far for kids to walk if you bring them. Other attractions will require transportation. The highlight of the hotel is that there is a Starbucks in the lobby. This is a very crowded hotel and the number of working elevators is not enough. That being said, breakfast is pretty basic and limited in selection - eggs, bacon, potatoes, a small japanese selection, about 3-4 different types of rolls /bread, yoghurt, kimchi, 2 fruits...etc. I was really sad that they no longer had the cornbeef hash and liver & onion... Good value hotel, with nice people, a fitness room, and a pool that's closed most of the time. So, if you just need a place a crash for the night before you fly out in the morning (several pilots stay here) and a Starbucks that offers microbrews, this is you place. Also, just down the street from convention center, mall, and Ala Mona Beach.

We had a great time here, located right next to the mall if you like to shop. We did not have dinner in any of the hotel restraunts, but did have the breakfast buffet a few mornings and the kids loved the options. Starbucks on site was a convince. The rooms are small and well appointed. The pool is quiet and relaxing. I would stay here again if I found myself wanting to stay in the city.

Stayed there for a Congress event. The hotel is overpriced for what it really offers. My room was by the ice machine and it made such a loud noise that I had to change rooms. The hotel staff offered another room... which was in front of another ice machine. So I asked for another room again, and was kindly relocated. One night one side of my bed sheets were wet - there was a big blue stain on them. It was late in the evening, they came to change the sheets. Another colleague had the same problem... Read more

Best place to stay for large convention. I would be back in my room resting while others staying in other parts of honolulu were standing in line waiting for a shuttle. The hotel staff were freindly and accomodating. Parking garage for the Ala Moana shopping center is connected to hotel by a sky bridge. Short walk to the magic island beach for some of the best sunsets on the island. We stayed here during convention, but got out of honolulu for a few days once convention ended.

The food court in the mall has some unique Hawaiian flavors. After travelling for about 13 hours it was extremely disappointing that It took over an hour to check into the hotel. We stayed here last year. This year we again had a Waikiki Tower-Ocean View room, but it was on the 29th floor from September 22nd to October 3rd. The front-desk agent was extremely helpful in moving us to a room away from the elevators and ice machines! The hotel is close to Ala Moana Park, Beach, and Mall. Why the 3.5? I thought it could use some room updates as it seemed. It isn't a dirty or run down property at all - very clean. But felt older.
